TS3999 sometimes when I'm entering birthdays on my calendar, they all disappear
my birthdays on my calendar keep disappearing, any ideas?
dom_99, this worked for me: (thanks to @fortbailey)
(1) If your iPad/phone is syncing contacts with iCloud, turn it off. In Settings on your iPad/phone, Mail,Contacts,Calendars, Accounts, iCloud, turn off Contacts.
(2) sync your iPad/phone to iTunes.
(3) now select the ‘Info’ tab in iTunes for your iPad/iPhone. Ensure that ‘Sync Address Book Contacts’ is ticked. (You can revert to syncing with iCloud later, after this process is complete.)
(4) scroll to the very bottom section of the Info tab. Where it says ‘Replace information on this iPad/iPhone’, select ‘Contacts’.
(5) Sync again.
Now check Calendars on iPad/iPhone, this process ‘fixes’ the information of birth dates and they should now appear correctly.

The headteacher has just upgraded his Ipad to I07 and when he goes into the school shared calendar any all day events come out red and then other events on that day are obscured as the red covers the whole day
I have the same proble. In all views all day events don't show up. If I search for the event, there is a result but it does not appear in the calendar.

I have never heard of a "keep" folder. I assume that your "keep" folder is one that you created in an IMAP email account for saving emails. If it is a standard feature of your email provider who is the provider?
Do you have your email configured properly on the server or in the mail app? Do you use the Edit/Move feature in the mail app to put the email into that folder? -

Thank you for the question. Items that are synced through iCloud are not backed up through iCloud:
Your iOS device backup only includes data and settings stored on your device. It doesn’t include data already stored in iCloud, for example contacts, calendars, bookmarks, mail messages, notes, shared photo streams, My Photo Stream, and documents you save in iCloud using iOS apps and Mac apps.

Some e- mail attachments won't open on my iPad Air w/ 7.1.2., some does. There is this sort of link on the bottom of the e-mails that says "download full attachment " and when pressed sometimes the attachment opens but sometimes it simply disappear from the e-mail. I couldn't identify the problem neither solve it. Could somebody help me please

This started happening several update ago - maybe 6 or 7.
When that happens (I've seen this happen in the past) then you should still be able to use Alt+Tab to switch to this window.

All my devices under the same username wont install and new apps when connected to wifi, and itunes on windows wont open anymore. wondering if anyone has the same problem or found a solution.
will download under 3g, very unusual problem. seems to be the apple username but for itunes to not open as well.Ha ha, not to worry.
Rebooted modem and all is good now.

I have had a real problkem after installing ML. The archives in my MAIL tripled (exact copiesof the original files) and when I tried to delete the extra ones, all of my files disappeared. Is there any way that I can get them back as I need them for business?
Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -
When importing the photos are color...but when I go to the develop module the all start going to black and white...before my eyes!
sounds like you either got a black and white preset selected in the 'Apply During Import' section of the Import Dialog (over on the right), or you've created a default setting in Develop. For the first, make sure no Develop preset is selected. For the second hold down your Alt key on PC, or Option key on Mac in the Develop Module. The Reset button will turn into 'Set Default...' on the bottom of the right panel. This will open a dialog box. Choose the left button that says 'Restore Adobe Default Settings'.

Firefox will not remember my customized options. I set my homepage and privacy options and when I close the browser and reopen, it will be back to Firefox default homepage.

When I type a phrase into the Google search window, a number of suggestions automatically appear underneath as I am typing. However, when I click on one of these suggestions, there is no change to what is in the search window, and nothing further happens. I have tried every option under Tools|Privacy, and I've tried everything on Google options but nothing works. My Word files are corrupted. When I open 'Get Info' then 'More Info' I find 'Photos for Personal Use or Home Display' and 'Authors' : Technology. - Nothing to do with the file I'd just written. My most recent files can't be saved or opened.
Is this Malware or some other kind of attack? I grabbed photos yesterday from what seem to be freely available pictures online. I discovered Firevault and Firewall were both turned off. (I hadn't checked before.) Any suggestions?Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
