TS4000 Reminders iOS app doesn't follow local timings, prompts hours ahead.

Reminders iOS app doesn't follow my local timings here in Singapore, so I don't get prompted at the right time, but hours ahead. Is this another stupid bug that Apple software designers missed out while trying too hard to make things look pretty?

1. Unfortunately is was removed in iOS 8 .
2. Unfortunately being a mobile O.S. means not all shortcuts may work or have a counterpart there.
3.  I have no issues with Spotlight.  Make sure you have the categories ordered the way you want to see them. As sometimes the App results may be below other result categories where you need to scroll further down. You can change this in Settings->General->Spotlight and drag the categories to the order you want them.  For instance I have Apps at the top followed by Suggestions, and then Mail and then Contacts, and then everything else.
4.  Again no real issues for me there.
5. ---
6. ---
7. It should work. What happens when you try?
8. When the iPad connects to the iPhone hotspot, it treats it as a regular Wifi connection because that's all it is to it.  And since you cannot limit the usage from other devices on the iPhone, it just lets it use the Cell data as much as it wants.  You'll need to manually manage this.  A Cellular iPad will have the same Cell data management as an iPhone.  A Wifi only iPad will not, as it doesn't actually use Cell data itself, so nothing really to limit.

  • IOS App to access a locally hosted SP farm?

Is there a professional application for IOS or Android that can be used to access a local SP farm?
I see lots of free ones and figured I would post here before trying them all and potentially giving away my passwords :)

I've had a good experience with SharePlus (http://mobility.infragistics.com/shareplus) when working with IOS devices.  But I don't think they've developed an Android version.

  • Updating iOS App without deleting the SQL DB

    Hello there,
I have a huge knot in my brain right now....
I need to update my iOS App, wich has a local SQL db installed (generated when you run the app for the first time).
Users have encrypted data stored in this database. Now, i'm not sure of what i should do, or rather how an update on iOS works.
If you install an update, will the entire App get wiped (with the database) and then replaced with the updated App, or how does this work?
IMPORTANT: I need to update the App, but the Database can't be touched or replaced, wich is stored in the applicationStorageDirectory.
Thank you very much for your help

It is usually a good idea to keep the database in the ApplicationStorageDirectory directory so that it is not accessible by other applications and it is preserved when the application is updated. -source: http://book.zi5.me/books/read/2473/118
Do you know a solution to my question? writing and reading arrays using application storage directory. its on the 1st page of the forum. id appreciate the help.

  • Do IOS app developers follow any good program practices?

I've had my iPad (original) a little over two years now, and I can say without a doubt, it is the most unstable platform I've used in nearly 30 years of using computers.  Most apps crash routinely, usually while at least one other app is running in the background.  Unloading the crashed app from memory and reopening uually works, but is a huge nuisance (and reason enough to me why iPads are not business-ready, except for specific task applications requiring mobility).  As one trained in both software and systems engineering, with 20 years IT experience mostly in engineering, I have to conclude that IOS app developers use "code and fix" development, with little testing before release.  Of course, in theory it could be that IOS itself isn't well designed to handle multitasking and doesn't provide adequate process isolation.  Either way, it makes for a frustrating experience as a user.
Has anyone else had similar issues?  Thoughts on why?

The original iPad does poorly with multiple apps open, the memory is just too small at 256 MB.  The processor is very slow compared to those in the current generation iPads.  And then couple that with developers who are for the most part independent of Apple and merely submit there products to Apple and you get a totally unpoliced set of apps.  Some are true professionals and follow very good programming practices, one that comes to mind is the GoodReader PDF reader.  Very stable and very powerfully built.  then you get into the gamers and Is is almost like they never heard of writing effecient, compact code.
The issue I see is a tightly controled operating system, with app developers handed a set of specs under which to code, but no real controls other than does the app run and is it free of malicious code.
    Just some thoughts.

  • My weather app doesn't show the feels like temp or wind, etc.  How can I fix this?  I am running iOS 8.1.2

My weather app doesn't show the feels like temp or wind, etc.  How can I fix this?  I am running iOS 8.1.2.

is that really what it is?  this is the native iphone weather app.  the funny part is that when i use the actual weather channel app, it does provide it.
is this an api issue with the weather channel and the iphone then?  i guess there's no fix?
thanks for your help by the way.

  • IOS 7 doesn't work on iPod touch 4g, so does the mean its the end for this device? Or are they going to make updates specially for lower devices an apps that are compatible ??

iOS 7 doesn't work on iPod touch 4g, so does the mean its the end for this device? Or are they going to make updates specially for lower devices an apps that are compatible ??

Which apps remain compatible will be up to the individual developers who sell those apps. There will be no further iOS updates, but those aren't really necessary to continue to use and enjoy your device. I still have an iPad 1 running on iOS 5, and it is fully functional.
The App Store has an app called VintApps 3.1.1 that is specifically geared toward iOS 3.1, however, you would probably be able to run most of those apps on your iPod, and considering that there will be a rather large market for iOS 6 apps users, it is not likely that you will see a significant reduction in choices any time soon.
It is not the end for the device in any sense except that it is at it's ultimate iOS level. And again, I have an iPad that is at it's ultimate iOS level (iOS 5), and I get new apps all the time that work for both my iPad and my iPhone that runs iOS 6.1.1
    No need to fret....
    Cheers,

  • Open local PDF inside Air iOS app

I am developing an AIR for iOS app for the iPad. My client would like the app to open a local PDF file within the app, rather than launching an external app (such as Adobe Reader). This is to give a seamless experience when using the app. I've seen that distriqt.com produce the 'PDF Reader' Native Extension based on www.vfr.org. VFR appears to have a series of interface controls that open along with the PDF, which I don't require. I emailed Distriqt a week ago to clarify, and have had no response.
Does anyone know of any other solutions to open a PDF inside an AIR iOS app?

I've managed to load a PDF successfully inside my AIR iOS app, using the code from http://thatsthaway.wordpress.com/201...1/#comment-102.
However, I've just come across a weird feature / bug when viewing a PDF using stagewebview. I have a PDF that contains several internal hyperlinks, each navigating to a page within the same PDF document. If I select any of the hyperlinks, they do jump to the intended pages. However, if I reselect the same hyperlink again, it no longer works. If I select a different hyperlink, and then reselect a previous link, it will then work, but if I select the same hyperlink twice in a row, without selecting a different hyperlink in between, the link fails to work. The PDF hyperlinks all work ok outside of my app, on both Windows desktop and an iPad, just not inside of the AIR app.
    Any ideas?

Try to connect in recovery mode, explained in this article:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
Before that, back up your device, explained here:

  • I have ipad with IOS 7,  Some apps doesn' t work, safari not open some web site. What can I do?

I have ipad with IOS 7,  Some apps doesn' t work, safari not open some web site. What can I do?

Try this and see if it helps.
    Settings>Safari>Clear cookies and data.
Now close Safari completely. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then "swipe up" or "drag up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Why do I need local copies of all my iOS Apps?

Now that my iPad and iPhone back up to iCloud do I need to keep local copies of all my Apps in iTunes? When I restored my iPhone 4S from iCloud it downloaded all the apps from iCloud rather then from my local copies. My Mobile Applications folder is 15GB and since I can't run iOS Apps on my computer I really don't see the point of keeping this massive archive around given my limited 256GB MacBook Air's storage.
Any expertise is appreciated! I'll try moving the files to my external and seeing if anything goes horribly wrong.
    Best, Alex

    Update
I tested my theory by deleting an app from iTunes. The app still showed on the Apps spring board organizer view in iTuens but not in the left hand list. After I Sync'd my iPhone it was no longer present on the iTunes spring board organizer or on my device. Looks like you still need to keep local copies of all your apps in iTunes. Unchecking "Sync Apps" presents you with a warning that app apps and their data will be removed.
It just seems useless to have local copies of iOS apps on my computer. I'm using more drive space for iOS apps (15GB) on my computer then Mac Apps(10GB)! I thought that my mac was demoted to a device and the cloud was now the truth!
May I suggest, the addition of a check box on the Advanced iTunes preference that says "Keep local copies of App Store purchases" so that I may uncheck it. Keeping a local xml feed of what apps I've purchased and maybe a local copy of the high res icon artwork should be sufficent to facilitate this. (Naturally there's a good amount of work to do under the hood on iTunes, the iTunes servers and in iOS as well.)

  • Why deadlines in Reminders appear differently in iCloud web and in iOs app?

In the iCloud web app, when I set a new reminder, a "deadline" can be added. In the iOs app, this deadline is visible, but if I create a new reminder in the iOS app I can only set an alarm date but no deadline, which appear in a different line. In other words, reminders created in the web app have "deadlines", reminders created in the iOS app have "alarm date". In the iOS app, the list is sorted by deadline, not alarm date, I can't find anything. How can Reminders be useful if I can't work in the web app and the iOS app at the same time?

  • TS4207 Why since upgrading to iOS 7 BBC radio app doesn't work? Says requested URL not found

Since upgrading to iOS 7 my BBC radio app doesn't work. Says requested URL not found on this server. What to do?

    Hi makc3d,
Thanks for the response. After all that time I started losing hope.
I would not say that the abvious solution is to remove the tag. I think it should not be put there in the first place if there's no code at all. Moreover, this only happens when exporting a MC from the Library, and it works just fine when exporting normally (publish). It seems more like a bug than an expected behaviour.
Also, AIR should check for actual code in this tag instead of relying only on the tag itself.
Your solution is a nice workaround, and I will certainly try that out. But as I said, it will not fix the original bug, it will only patch it later on in the process.

  • IOS 7 Impact on Reminders/Tasks App

Ever since I upgrade to iOS 7, the Reminders/Tasks App has given me fits when I attempt to edit the notes section I a reminder.  I the note is longer than the screen view, if I attempt to edit the note near the top of the note, the App immediately takes me to the end of the note or some please near the end of the note.  I cannot make the cursor hold at the top of the note.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings.iTunes and App stores and sign out and sign back in

  • Rejected...We found that your app does not follow the iOS Data Storage Guidelines,

Where and how do I fix this?
We found that your app does not follow the iOS Data Storage Guidelines, which is required per the App Store Review Guidelines.
In particular, we found that on launch and/or content download, your app stores 3.54MB. To check how much data your app is storing:
    - Install and launch your app
    - Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage
    - If necessary, tap "Show all apps"
    - Check your app's storage
The iOS Data Storage Guidelines indicate that only content that the user creates using your app, e.g., documents, new files, edits, etc., should be backed up by iCloud.
Temporary files used by your app should only be stored in the /tmp directory; please remember to delete the files stored in this location when the user exits the app.
Data that can be recreated but must persist for proper functioning of your app - or because customers expect it to be available for offline use - should be marked with the "do not back up" attribute. For NSURL objects, add the NSURLIsExcludedFromBackupKey attribute to prevent the corresponding file from being backed up. For CFURLRef objects, use the corresponding kCFURLIsExcludedFromBackupKey attribute.

You're submitting a Newsstand app, right? This error is still under investigation, but the current workaround is create SD (1024x768/768x1024) cover images for your HD (2048x1536) folio renditions and try again.
