Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

  • Cannot add second iCloud address to mail

    I a using OS X 10.9 on MacBook Pro Late 2008.
I have set up a primary iCloud account in Preferences/iCloud,
no problem with it. All (sync) servces work.
Now I want to add a second .me/iCloud acount, especially
to sync mail. But no matter where I try to add the acount
(either Preferences/Internet Accounts or within Mail.app)
it does not work. When I add the second iCloud account
from Preferences/Internet Accounts the account gets
added but there is no checkmark at Mail and Notes.
When I try to set the checkmark, a modal window
opens which ask me to create a new iCloud email.
When I put in my iCLoud email it tells me, that this mail
is already taken - well, that's no surprise.
I can login to iCloud.com with the user
and password but even in the web interface I get an error:
To use iCloud email create a new e-mail address.
But why should I create a new iCloud mail address if
I login in with an iCloud mail address.
The iCloud account has a primary .me address
and an "confirmed" .iCloud alias. And I can login
with both the .me and the .iCloud address.

Found a solution: once I added the account on an iOS device I got a option to create the iCloud address which I just accepted (this time there I am not forced to create a new address). From then I could sync mail and notes from my MacBook and also mails in the iCloud webfrontend started working.

What if I do not want to use IMAP or Exchange?  I do not like being forced to use technology I do not trust.
No, it is not a bug. It is working as designed. And there is noting in the manual that staes you can create folders for a POP account.
You do know that any email sent through a POP account stays on the provider's server (often for years) even if you delete it from your inboxes, right? Completely beyond your control. Refusing to use an IMAP service doesn't protect you from anything.

  • Cannot loggin in iCloud on my new macbook pro

I have problems with iCloud on my new macbook pro. I migrate the older user to the new mac and it keeps asking my password and never loggin.
The password is correct, i can login in iCloud.com and on my iphone and ipad as usual. I reset restart and keeps asking me that same.
    thanks in advance.

You have to sign out on each device by going to Settings>iCloud and clicking 'Delete account' (this does not delete anything from the server). Then sign in again with the new ID.

  • TS4002 Cannot send/receive iCloud email with Mail

About a week ago I stopped being able to send/recieve icloud email via mail on my iMac.  Everything is correct in my settings except the incoming server information.  Mail defaults to p03-imap.mail.me.com, and will not let me select or edit this option.  I know all my other settings work correctly because I can access iCloud email via my iPhone, iPad and a Windows 7 laptop running Thunderbird.  However my iMac is my primary computer and I would like to get this issue corrected.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am trying to determine the reason that the Mail program has stopped working with iCloud.  All of my settings are correct, and have been verified as working with another application (Thunderbird), and work on hand held devices (iPhone and iPad), but will not work within Mail.  The only thing I could find that didn't match the referenced online materials was the p03- portion of the IMAP server address.  If you have any suggestions, I'm happy to listen to them.

  • Cannot get into icloud on my new macbook pro

I have just bought a MAC Book Pro and had to change my apple id password. I now cannot synch with my ipad and iphone as apparently cannot change icloud password. What to do?

You have to sign out on each device by going to Settings>iCloud and clicking 'Delete account' (this does not delete anything from the server). Then sign in again with the new ID.

  • I cannot add contacts to my address book from Mail?

When I click on the email address down arrow and select add to address book I get no error message but the address does not get added to the contacts list. Please Help!!

Same thing happens to me. Running 10.9.2 on Macbook Air. Everything worked fine up until a few weeks ago then it stopped behaving.

  • I cannot get my iCloud email account set up in Outlook 2013.  I have Windows 7 also.

I cannot add my @icloud.com email account to my Outlook 2013 - How do I do that?  Online support says the account will be listed and it is not.  Also, I have installed the iCloud Control Panel, etc.  What do I do?

Apple suggests trying the following (from http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4002):
If you already signed in to the iCloud Control Panel without setting up your email address using one of the devices above, close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel twice. If that doesn't help, sign out and back in to the iCloud Control Panel.

  • I cannot add an account to my calendar app on my iMac running Mavericks

I have my calenders synced seamlessly between my iPhone and iPad but cannot get the calenders synced on my iMac. I cannot add my iCloud account in the Calender app preferences.  When I do the Calender app freezes. Under iCloud in system preferences when I check Calenders, system preferences freezes (I am having this same problem with Reminders). (Calender will will come up on my iMac desktop, but Reminders will not.) What is going on?

Contact the mods there is obviously a website problem. They can get in touch with the right part of BT

  • HT204053 I have an iPhone 4S and when I try to add an iCloud account is gives me an error "Cannot Sign In, The maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this iPhone." Is there any way to deactivate an account?

I have an iPhone 4S and when I try to add an iCloud account is gives me an error "Cannot Sign In, The maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this iPhone." Is there any way to deactivate an account? I have one for myself, one for my family and one for my work. I had all three on my iphone and then I deleted my work. I wanted to get my own person @me.com account. It wouldn't let me create it from my iphone, so I created it from my Macbook Pro. I am trying to add it to my iphone, but it keeps giving me that error. If there is a way I can deactivate my work one so I can use my @me.com personal account?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately once all the 3 iCloud accounts have been created on your mobile device, you cannot create any more regardless of what you do. You will need to re-use one of the accounts that you have already created or create your new account on another device or computer.
You should however be able to add existing accounts to your device, are you sure you aren't trying to create on rather than simply use an existing one.

  • Cannot add a new email account, and hence icloud account. When i go into Settings - Mail, accounts, calendars,  the option to add a new account cannot be clicked (ghosted). I also have iCloud Settings ghosted (unclickable). Cannot change in itunes also.

Cannot add a new email account, and hence i have no way of creating an iCloud account (very frustrating). I had the same problem with iOS 4.3 but i had no email account to create as i set both up when i bought the iPhone 4. After adding a company email and a gmail account (both wok perfectly) i noticed that the option to create more email accounts had been ghosted (unclickable). This didn't worry me at the time. However, iCloud needs me to create one in here so i can access the cloud which i desperately want the ability to do. When i go into Settings -> Mail, accounts, calendars,  the option to add a new account cannot be clicked (ghosted). I also have iCloud in the iPhone Settings ghosted (unclickable). I have same problem in itunes on Mac OSX. Surely restoring isn't the solution as i restored my iphone when changing from iOS 4.3 -> 5. Please help?

    Go to
    Settings,
    General,
Restrictions, type in your Restriction Password,
    Accounts, tick Allow Changes.
Press the back key a few times till you're back in Settings, you should see iCloud is now highlight able, now go to Mail Contacts and Calenders and add your email account as per norm.
    Hope this helps.

  • I want to delete my gmail on my iPad, yet my iPad won't allow me to access the option. I went on my iPad settings Mail, Contacts, Calendars, although i cannot tap on iCloud, Gmail, or Add Account... How do i fix this?

I want to delete/sign out my gmail on my Ipad, but my ipad won't allow me to delete it.
    Example:
I tapped on Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars, although I cannot tap on iCloud, Gmail, and Add Account...
    how do I fix this?

Sorry, you said Gmail. If that's the case, you can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • We have mac os x  10.6.8  I wanted to load iCloud but it is not in system preferences. Does that mean I cannot add it to my imac? If I can, what do I need to do?

You need 10.7.5 or later for iCloud.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    A. Upgrading to Mountain Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion or Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    B. Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

Tap the little claendar icon at the top left (next to the search icon) and see what calendars are set up in WeekCal.  If none are enabled, then enable the one(s) you want to use.

  • Since the debut of iCloud, I cannot add spouse, child etc... data to the address book.  Anyone have a clue how to get it back??

Ever since iCloud went live, I cannot add any spouse, child etc... info to the address book.  Anyone have an idea how to get this back.  I tried to reset the template, looks like it has been removed.  I also de-selected the iCloud and selected on my local Mac in the accounts area in preferences. Still no luck. My address book entries prior to iCloud still have all the data and I'm able to modifiy if desired.  Any ideas??

I copied this from an extremely knowledgable iTunes for Windows user in another discussion. Maybe this will help.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit (iTunes) > Preferences > Store anduntick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit(iTunes) > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 you can enable artwork in the Songs and playlist views from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view.
If you are a Mac user, all you have to do is start navigating through the menu items at the top of the screen to find just about everything that is mentioned here.
