TS4002 ICloud Alias not recieving email

As the subject states I have an Icloud Alias that is sending email with no problems, however it does not allow me to receive email. I have made sure that the settings allow it to recieve emial, yet when someone tries to email the account there is a perment failure error. Any Ideas?

Could you solve your problem in the meanwhile? I have exyctly the same problem - I can send mails with my icloud.com alias but I can not receive mails. Apple's mailserver are refusing them:
From: <[email protected]>
To:  <[email protected]>
Subject: Test
Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients:
Recipient address: @smtpout.mac.com:[email protected]
Original address: [email protected]
Reason: Remote SMTP server has rejected address
Diagnostic code: smtp;550 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias: [email protected]
Remote system: dns;p02-asmtpout.me.com (TCP|17.172.220.247|62784|17.172.209.187|25)
Any help greatly appreciated - any hints on how to get in contact with Apple about this issue?

  • TS4002 icloud is not deleting emails from iphone, ipad, when deleted on imac

i have enabled icloud on my ipad, icloud, and imac.
when i delete an email on one device, it reamins on the other two and has to be deleted manually.
all devices have the latest updates, and i have version 10.8.2 loaded on my imac, and version 6 on my ipad and ipad.

If you delete an item off of one of your devices, do you see it being deleted at icloud.com?
All devices are using the same apple id?  All devices have the proper items checked off in their respective preferences?

not recieving email verification, cannot access Icloud'

Make sure you are checking the email address you used to set up your iCloud account.  Check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox.  If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Well, are you receiving them at all? To some other folder? Or not at all? I hate to guess...but...if your device OS has the option, you can dictate what shows in Messages and what has separate icons:
Homescreen > Messages > > Options > (Main Message List Settings) or (Inbox Settings) or (Inbox Management) > uncheck/check what you want to suppress/show in Messages
    Good luck!

Everything was fine then I kept getting a message saying incorrect user name or password and could not recieve email.

Have you tried to remove and then re enter your account info? Sometimes things get messed up and the only way to fix it is to just start over.

  • ICloud Alias Cannot Recieve but can Send Emails

My [email protected] E-mail address can send but not receive E-mails.  If I send an E-mail from iCloud it uses the [email protected] address as the sender but if someone replies to this E-mail the reply fails as an unknown alias.  Has anyone found a solution to this?

    Hi,
Im assuming that you have a hotmail plus account which allows you to get access to your mail via pop?
If so, then on your iphone you need to go into settings/mail/yourhotmail/SMTP/primary server/ and ensure the password box in there is populated. This should then allow you to send mail.

  • ICloud email alias' not receiving email

i have two email alias' brought over from mobileme.com into icloud
they are imported and showing in my icloud email alias' list. however, when i email to those addresses (@me.com) the emails end up in the mailer-daemon world.
    any thoughts?

OK I think I have this figured out here. Looks like a case of operator error on this end in the beginning. Sorry for all the detail below, but if it helps anyone I hope it is worth it.
    1. Per suggestion of Carolyn Samit elsewhere, I went into Apple>System Preferences>Internet and Wireless>iCloud and deselected Mail and Notes. I then repeated the above, but toggled the Mail and Notes back on.
    2. I sent another test message to my iCloud alias address, per the routine set out in the first post above, with a BCC back to me, which immediately appeared in the MacBook Pro Mail Inbox.
    3. I left the Sent message in the Sent folder, and the BCC in the Inbox.
    4. I then signed into iCloud and opened Mail.
    5. Lo and Behold, my test message was in both the Sent folder and the Inbox in iCloud Mail.
Lesson to be learned from the different process I had used earlier -- iCloud mimics exactly what I had previously done on my MacBook Pro (which was not detailed above because it did not seem important at the time). Previously, after sending a test email, I immediately moved the Sent message into a special folder on the MacBook Pro, and also immediately moved the BCC copy in the Inbox into the same special folder in Mac Mail.
iCloud mimic'd these moves, so when I went there in the early stages of this  process (after having already moved two emails into special folders on the laptop), there were no emails to be seen at iCloud.
This last time just now, I left the emails in my Inbox and Sent folders at the laptop, and they WERE in the corresponding folders at iCloud.
Now, to toggle off Mail and Notes in Apple System Preferences and see what happens?
    Good night . .

  • Email sent from an icloud alias not saved in sent folder

I have a couple aliases set up for my primary icloud email account.
When I send a message from my "primary" email address (using the pull-down list to select the "From:" address) a copy of the message appears in the Sent folder. However, if I select one of the aliases as the "From:" address, the message is delivered to the recipient but does NOT show up in the Sent folder. Anyone know why?

The "recall" feature is not a feature of Outlook. It is a feature of Microsoft's proprietary Exchange system, and it only works if you and the recipient are both using Exchange Server email accounts.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/how-message-recall-works-HA001091 760.aspx
iCloud does not use Microsoft Exchange - it uses the industry standard IMAP protocol for email.

  • TS4002 iCloud will not send to yahoo email addresses, and is stating SMTP transmission failure has occurred. Can anyone help ?

Hi, iCloud will not let me send mail to some yahoo accounts, stating SMTP transmission failure has occurred. Can anyone help ?.

    Try two things
    1. try to send mail from icloud.com - by that we eliminate possible problem on your device.
    2. Sending mail to the same yahoo address from other email - that way we can eliminate or pinpoint problem with icloud smtp server. ( for that one you will have to give it a few hours, cause another server may give you delayed failure.)

  • TS4002 Why can I not recieve email, I have tried numerous "fixes" nothing seems to remedy this??

I have tried everything still cannot recieve email on my iPhone 4

    Does Safari work OK?
Does Mail work on other networks?
    Try:
iOS: Unable to send or receive email
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Not recieving emails

I have a unique problem. I am recieving emails on my phone but not on my computer. All my outlook emails go straight to my phone. I am not able to revieve emails on the desktop.

What kind of email account is it? IMAP or POP
By default the iPhone is set to leave the messages on the server.
There may be a delay between when the iPhone get the email and when the server allows the next connection to download the same messages.
Check your webmail (if you have that option) to see if the messages are on the server.

  • Not Recieving Emails from a Certain Emails Address

    Hi All,
I am having trouble with my account where I can't recieve emails from [email protected] which I have sent out to people who are members of my website. It seems to be affecting BT email addresses as my dad cant recieve them and he has a BT Email address too. It stop about a month ago then started working, but in the last week or so it doesnt seem to be getting them again. I know that there is nothing wrong with the mails as I have sent them as a reminder. I have been sending them to myself recently just to check if they are going through or not.
    Any Help would be great.
    Many Thanks,
    Benjamin Miller

I have just checked BTCONNECT webmail and no junk mail folder. I am using Outlook for my email account. At the sending end it says sent messages and they think it could be BT's end. Most people on my mailing list are receiving the emails I am sending it is sending from [email protected] as that is where the mailing lists go through as such, but I am not and other BT email accounts.
    Hi again.
Is this a business account, and does it affect sending to @btconnect.com and @btinternet.com email addresses ?
Even though the "system" says sent, it doesn't actually mean that the mail servers have actually managed to send. When you say "they think if could be BT's end" - have they checked their systems thoroughly ?
Some mailing list systems are notorious for being treated as spam sending systems, and the emails could actually be prevented entering end user ISPs altogether by higher order anti-spam filters, such as Spamhaus etc. The end user would then not even see them in their online Spam folder.
If all other emails are being received as expected, then it seems to point at the originating end - even if users on other non BT ISPs are receiving those emails.
