Be sure to try all of these troubleshooting steps if you are not able to activate your iPhone:
Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.

getting the same answer everytime I try to log into i cloud. I get a message that I have a valid ID and password but it is not an icloud account. You must create the account using an Apple device, a Mac (Lion or greater) or an IOS device (IOS5 or greater). Having done that you will be able to sign in from your Windows machine.
FYI, iCal is an application that can display calendars from iCloud (and others) it is not a calendar itself, merely a calendar client. In Windows Outlook is the calendar client. -
I have an account for apple but this is not acceptable for i cloud. It say it is correct ID and password but this is not icloud account. So my phone can not connect with my computer and not synchronization too. Last a few months i have not use this phone. Just i start to use again. So most probably i gave my old mail address as a ID or password. So how can i clearing this subject. regards

Correct. That is only a feature of iOS 5 or later...

Please try to sign in at https://appleid.apple.com
Check if your new username/email address is verfied
If this works, delete your account on your iPhone (Settings > iCloud)
Sign back in -

The previous owner has not given you the correct ID and password for you to use.

Careless? Possible, but unlikely. Most likely the phone was stolen from the first owner. It would be a VERY careless iPhone owner who did not erase their personal information from a phone before selling it, and to do that it is necessary to disable Activation Lock. In most places in the world knowingly using stolen property is a crime, so the fact that the phone doesn't work may be the least of one's risks. -
I am trying to reset my apple id under icloud account information on the original pc that I set the account up. I have changed email addresses now and would like to change to new address. I have gone through the steps on changing apple id and password and have my phone hooked up to pc but it will not change over to the new address and password thus I can not order any apps or use icloud. Help!
Go to Settings, and then turn iMessage and FaceTime on if they are off. If they are on, then turn them both off, restart the phone, then turn them back on.
Go back to Settings > iCloud. Whether the current or old email address is displayed there, try your current password. -
I'm trying to use my iPad mini for the first time with a previous apple ID and password but it says "iTunes is not working try again"...it allowed me to download an app on my iPhone using the same apple ID & password but all my apps are in "Waiting Status" on my iPad mini because it says "iTunes is not working"...PLEASE HELP ME NOW!!!

the ID that it is asking for is the only person who can

I am having trouble updating the apps on my I=-phone because nothing I enter is recognised. I enter the e-mail address originally used and the correct password but it says it doesn't recognise this. I have also tried to re-set the password but it says it is sending me an e-mail to do this but it never comes. I have set up a new user ID and password but don't know how to transfer that so it updates my I-phone. Any ideas?
You're going to have to call Apple and ask for Account Security in order to get this straightened out.

If the old ID ("email address") is your ID, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Yesterday I changed my Apple ID password. Now iCloud keeps popping up now and then telling me to log in. And I enter the new password and it doesn't work! I am 100% sure that I am entering the password correctly. That popping up of iCloud is so annoying
Try to:
1) Login on www.icloud.com and see if it works from there
2) Remove you iCloud account from the Mac, and readd it
3) Reset your password again: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617 -

Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone. -
