I have upgraded my iPhone 5 with iOS7 and I can´t turn on location services. I have already restored the instalation of oOS 7 twice but no change. This should be the improvement of apple software? Does anybody have similar problem? Do you know how to solve it?

A workaround is to reinstall lazy apps, mostly for those that were restored but don't appear on notification center, eg. Whatsapp. In my case I have more than 500 apps installed.
We need a correct solution for this problem.
I also had this problem on the past moving from 4s to 5.
And now from 5 to 5s.
The only notifications working after restore in my iPhone are those from Facebook.

  • HT5467 Can you turn on location services remotely to find a missing phone?

Can you turn on location services remotely to find a missing phone?

No.  The Find My iPhone service can only be used if it was set up and active, with location services enabled, before the iPhone is lost.

  • Turning on location services via command line

It is possible in Mountain Lion or Mavericks to turn on location services via a shell script as might be used via Apple Remote Desktop or DeployStudio or similar. An example script to do this is listed below.
    #!/bin/sh
    /bin/launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.locationd.plist
    uuid=`/usr/sbin/system_profiler SPHardwareDataType | /usr/bin/grep "Hardware UUID" | /usr/bin/cut -c22-57`
    /usr/bin/defaults write /var/db/locationd/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.locationd.$uuid LocationServicesEnabled -int 1
    chown -R _locationd:_locationd /var/db/locationd
    /bin/launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.locationd.plist
    exit 0
The script turns location services off, finds the Macs unique hardware UUID number, sets the preference file for this Mac which has a file name unique to this Mac because the file name includes the UUID number, restores ownership of the file as the defaults command will have possibly changed the owner, and then turns location services back on.
As mentioned the above will work for Mountain Lion and Mavericks. Unfortunately Lion even though it also has location services its method of confuguring is totally different.
Does anyone have a similar command line solution to enable location services for Lion (aka OS X 10.7).

    THis should work:
    #!/bin/sh
    launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.locationd.plist
defaults write /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.locationd Disabled -bool false
    launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.locationd.plist
    exit 0

How do I turn off location services on the iPhone 6?
Yes I already went to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, is not allowing me to turn it off.
And yes I have disable the restrictions too.

When I tapped the screen, there was a symbol on the left that looked like arrows going in a circle and on the right were the arrows crossed. The crossed arrows were orange, when I tapped this orange symbol, it turned to white and the songs STOPPED shuffle.

  • IPhone 5: Can't turn on location services after ios 7 upgrade.

When I upgraded to the current ios, location services got turned off.  Now there is a password there, and I'd never had one before.  I've been trying unsuccessfully for 3 weeks with every number combination that I can think of  to get into my restrictions tab and turn on location services.
    Any Suggestions?.

Note: If you lose or forget a restriction passcode, you will need to perform a factory restore to remove it.

  • Can not turn on location services

The "Location Services" on my iPhone 5 is greyed out and will not allow me to turn it on?
    Whats up?
    I just installed IOS 7,
Find my iPhone is selected, on my phone, my iMac and the iCloud. They all have the same message, "Online, Location Services off"
    Any ideas?

I had the same issue with ony of the three iPhones I updated on Wednesday.  There are many processes that are working for people including:
    - Resetting the device several times
    - Toggling the "Dont' Allow Changes" setting under "Restrictions --> Location Services"
    - Disabling Restrictions altogether.
    - Restoring from backup
I was able to restore location services by selecting reset and choosing "Erase All Content and Settings" to set the phone up as new.  When the phone resets, I was given the option to turn on location services.  I then restored from backup and was good to go.
Some people have been able to resolve the issue by just using "Reset All Settings" without having to erase all content, but that did not work for me.  It took a while to get everything back to normal, but it is good to know that there was a somewhat simple solution.

Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • How do you turn on location services for the Photos app?

I reset my location services and I need to reactivate the location services for those apps I want to use this function.  I have turned on location services for all other apps, including CAMERA, but I cannot figure out how to turn it back on for PHOTOS (Camera Roll).  This option did appear when I did the new iPhone5 setup, but I cannot get it back.  And PHOTOS is not listed in the apps shown under the Location Services setting page.  I set my wife's phone up too and the PHOTOS app is showing on her phones Location Services setting page.  Help please.

    Hi There
I had the same problem and actually I found out that in Location Services you need to Turn On the option for CAMERA, as there is no photos icon.
    Cheers

  • Can't turn on location services

Location services will not turn on no matter what I do. My iPad isn't 3G but I thought it should still work off of the wifi of at least let me turn it on.

I'm presuming you're trying under settings and location services. Not sure if this is applicable, but under 'general' and 'restrictions' could your iPad be 'restricted' so that you can't turn locations services on?

  • Can't turn off location services on IPhone 4s.

Settings -> Location Services (Always ON) -> can't turn ON / OFF. It's disabled. I can't even turn ON / OFF location services for apps down below. They are all Off by default. Verified with colleague and it's working on his iphone 4s. Can't find solution anywhere on web.

    Settings>General>Restrictions...are yours on? Allow Changes>Location>On/Off.
