TS4006 Find My iPhone; On the Macbook Pro, IPhone, IPad
Hello Developers of OS team;
For much better security of losing your iphone or getting it stolen anytime, or forgetting to taken it at the stores or were ever, you know someone would take it not return it back.
So when the stolen IPhone is missing now, if the person that has can turn the Iphone off or disable the find my phone in the setting, then
your not able to find it. Say you get in an accident go to the hospital someone take the iphone away from you at the hospital and they tries to turn off
the iphone. There plenty of examples I can mention, that my suggestion below would be a great idea for everyone that has one, to be always beable to find your
at all times until the battery dies, or hope that or person charges it back up again to try get into your iphone again.
So my suggestion is to first; you need your password to disable the find my Iphone completely, there shoud be prompt for this and other settings that prevent
the iphone not to be found, and on another device like IPad, Macbook Pro etc. Next when turning your iphone totally off it's disable you can't find the iphone
so now you need to incorpate onto the OS to put a password in so you can't shut down the iphone completely. This way the iphone can found
all the time until the battery dies. Most would look for the iphone immediately anyway.
Hope you incorporate in one of the new release of the OS

This is already incorporated into iOS 7, due out this fall (see http://www.apple.com/ios/ios7/features/).

I understand the need for all of your calendars to be up to date across all of your devices and how frustrating it can be when they are not syncing as you would expect. In this situation I would suggest reading over and using the attached article for troubleshooting.

Can't complete facetime connection between macbook pro and iPad
Last week I had to download the latest version of facetime from the mac app store because the beta version (0.9) had expired. After I installed it on my 15" macbook pro (last model that had the removable battery) running the latest version of Snow Leopard 10.6.x, I tried to facetime with my iPad (3rd gen). It would ring, but when I would try to accept the connection, it wouldn't make the connection. I was using the same account/user id on both the iPad and the macbook pro. I added my wife's email address to the mac and selected her address and then was able to connect and I thought my problems were solved. At this time, both the macbook pro and iPad were on the same wifi network.
Fast forward a few days and I'm overseas and trying to facetime with my wife and so I attempt to connect and it rings and she accepts the incoming connection, but then it never connects and I get a message that it failed. She tries to connect to me and the same thing happens - it rings, i touch the button to accept and it says connecting and then never connects. I was able to connect with no issues when she was using her iPhone 4S when I am in London and she is at home on the same wifi network as the macbook pro is on. I had her sign out of my apple account in facetime on the macbook pro and sign in with her apple account that is associated with a completely different email address. We tried to connect and still had the same problem - rings, hit answer, connection fails.
I can also connect with my iPhone 4 to my iPad (both on the same wifi network, data roaming turned off on the phone so I know it is wifi only)
Since I can connect to my iPhone and my wife's iPhone, I'm pretty certain that the problem isn't with the wifi network on either end and it has something to do with facetime on the macbook pro. When I was googling for answers, it seems like this issue isn't an uncommon occurence, but I haven't been able to find any solutions either.No.

Let's say, I have an Iphone 3GS and it was synced to my older pc (I know...) and it crashed and I can't retrieve my files on there. I want everything that I have on my 3Gs: photos, videos, music, notes, voice recordings, etc... Now, I recently upgraded to 4Gs. I can sync almost everything via icloud but there are files like photos, videos, other music that I cannot sync or for some weird reason it won't work over the cloud. So I want to move all of those information to my macbook pro (upgraded from pc... yes!). How do I move everything in my iphone backed up to my itunes in my mac book so that I can sync it to my new 4Gs?I have a 3GS IPhone and have not been able to find Cloud on it anywhere (I was instructed to go to Settings, General, etc). I have also been told I should download update from I Tunes and have not been successful doing that either. I know my I Pad has the Cloud and I am wanting to sync the calendar from the phone to the pad. Any suggestions?

Apple let us use the Mac bluetooth capabilities to use and control our iPhone, it should be easy, also!You may think it should be easy, but in reality it is not. Your MacBook Pro is not a dedicated handsfree headset, and it would take a considerable amount of effort to write the application code to create a program for your MBP to emulate one. You can find any third party developer you like and convince them to create a Mac App for you which will provide you with a user interface on your Mac, and use Bluetooth to emulate a handsfree headset for your cell phone (it swouldn't even have to be an iPhone) and see just how much they want to charge you for such an application. You might be surprised to see how high those numbers really are...

How does one continue to use Mail on the early MacBook Pro, Model 1,1, that is not upgradable to Lion? I have been running iCloud on my iPhone (OS5) and iMac (Lion) along with the MacBook Pro (OS Version 10.6.8) since November until now. Mail will no longer download on the MacBook Pro and keeps asking for my password.
Mail should still be usable with your machine - but you'll need to update the settings to conform to the requirements of your system. Check with your ISP (like ATT, etc.) for the settings that will work with your Mail. Once you've updated this, you should be able to email like before.
For example, my ISP required that I go to Mail Preferences/Accounts and make sure the details conform to your email settings.
I have no idea of what your ISP is or what the settings might be, but this is likely the source of the problem. -
I have the newer version of the macbook pro and I have read the directions on how to authorize your computer to let you download previous song purchases from icloud onto your laptop, but I cannot find where it says "authorize this computer" at all. I have looked for it everywhere and still cannot find it. Please help!

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us. -

I took a video on my iPhone and tried to email it it said it was too big to send? So i downloaded it to my macbook pro and tried to mail it to no avail? The macbook tells me the server won't let it through other mail goes through any ideas how to resize it or what it might take to send it?I agree with LowLister, the best option for you to share the video online is to upload it to your online storage account for example : Box, Dropbox, SkyDrive (All of them provide free storage beginning from 2GB).
You can upload the files which you want to share in this online storage and then they have sharing options in which you'll will get the link of the file to be sent and send the email. You're good to go!
Tip : You can store multiple files for backup purposes. -
Is there a way to access the passcode previously entered to access a wi-fi network that the MacBook Pro and iPhone automatically remembers and stores?
Not on an iPhone, but on your Mac: Keychain Access>Enter the name of the WiFi network in the search bar>Info Button>Check Box "Show Password">Enter your Admin password>If will appear.

My iPhone and iPad mini communicate great with one another, but I can't seem to get my iCal on the MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8) to sync over the cloud. What should I do?
iCloud only comes with OSX 10.7.2 or later, you need to upgrade your OS. Go to the Mac App Store and try downloading OSX Mavericks. The store will only let you download it if your computer meets the required specifications.
If you are told your Mac is not compatible with Mavericks, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) or better CPU with at least 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7. -

I use two MacBook pro, two iPads and two iPhones. Upon connection and attempt to synchronize photos I receive a message that my authorization limit is exceeded. I read that iOS devices do not count against the authorization limit. One iPhone and one iPad show in the authorization list. iTunes wants to delete my purchased programs and books from the iPad to continue synchronization. What can I do?
Ok, now I do wish I could edit....
I forgot to APPLY the network settings for the USB cable to work. Connected thru USB I can tether.
So, I kept playing, and playing some more...
I had previously unpaired everything, and gone as far as removing network devices HOWEVER...
I didn't remove the Ethernet, Firewire or Airport Network devices.
Now, I have done so. I REMOVED EVERYTHING
No pairing, no network devices.
Bluetooth was already turned off, and I rebooted.
I turned off tethering and rebooted the iphone.
I turned on bluetooth (on the MBP), I turned on tethering. I browsed for the iphone. It said I was already paired???? Ok, repair AGAIN, and THE IPHONE SHOWED MY BLUETOOTH TETHERING BLUE BAR at the top of the screen!
I opened a web page, no go... d4mn, I was close...
Opened network preferences and the created a new bluetooth PAN and voila! Internet back on the MBP. I am about to reinstall the ethernet and airport (I can live without firewire for now) and see what happens.
Basically, the link I posted two posts ago, I had already done that, but I NEEDED to remove ethernet, firewire and airport as well...
So MAYBE it's fixed, we'll see for how long. I'm not going to mark this as answered for now, because basically, it has failed for no reason, and I want to know why...
Hopefully someone can come up with something, but having to delete and reinstall all pairings and network devices (to me) is not really a solution, it's a workaround (at best). -
HI, I have a IMac and a MacBook Pro plus my IPhone...I only receive all my mail on the IMac...the MacBook Pro only receives maybe 1 or 2 emails and the same for the IPhone...Anyone know what I can do?

The first thing to try is changing your DNS settings - and for that you need to open System Preferences, then the
Network section.
In Network - click on Advanced - then the DNS tab
under DNS servers - use the + button to enter two extra lines
either these, from google dns
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
or from OpenDNS
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
then click OK & then 'Apply'
You would need to do that seperately for the Cable (Ethernet) settings and Wireless (Airport)
