Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.
If the device is wiped by you or another, you may not be able to locate the device (although some have reported they can)

Shoul there be an access tab on my iTunesYou don't view your calendar, on your Mac, that way. You sync your calendar to your Mac using iCloud, or iTunes. Read here:

I lost my iPad and now it's not showing up on the Find my iPhone App devices list. I just have my iPhone and my iPad on it. I know that the app is enabled on my iPad b/c I have tested it from my iPad in the past. Any ideas why it's not showing up on the devices list? And how can I get it back on my device list so I can find it?
Is the app compatible with the iOS on the phone? Do you have automatic downloads enabled on the phone?

My friend has lost her iPhone (actually stolen after a burglary). She hadn't installed the "Find my iPhone" app - and I tried to localize it without any success. Are there some other solutions to localize the phone??

I lost my Iphone 4, but I was able to find it using the find my Iphone app on another apple device. However, when I try to actiavte it, I am asked to enter a PIN to unlock my SIM. But, I don't know where to enter the PIN. Please help me. Thankyou.

I've lost access to my e-mail and my apple ID. No way to reset them. It's a hotmail email address and Microsoft is refusing to reset it even after I provided all the necessary proof of ownership.
2 problems:
I can't switch to a new apple id and loose all my purchased apps
I can't switch to a new apple id as I'm being asked for the password of my current apple id - to disable the 'find my iPhone'-feature
How do I proceed as my device is virtually unusable as is ..

We also can't speculate on what exactly iOS 7's new security features will actually do, all that's available is what has been said so far by Apple, anyone using a developer version is forbidden to discuss it anywhere but in the developers community. -
I have lost my iphone 4s and want to use find my iphone app on my boyfriends iphone 3s to delete the info on my now lost phone. Do i need to log out of his icloud inorder to log into mine to do this on his phone?
You need to use the Find My iPhone app (in the itunes store - free). When invoking it on a device, you enter the ID password of the account the lost device is connected to. You can also use a computer's browser and log into icloud.com.

i recently lost my 3rd Gen iPod and ive been using find my iPhone to send messages to it, my email then instantly tells me that it had been displayed or it suonded off however it doesn't find the iPod's current location. you guys think this app actually works? i feel like my alerts are just bouncing back at me. please help. ... AFAIC Location Services is a joke.
With both devices sitting side by side on my kitchen table, Location Services has NEVER shown the devices to be any where close to each other, and at times Location Services has been as much as a 1/4 of a mile off between the two devices.
Your iPod Touch has no GPS receiver so determining its location relies upon wireless routers whose location is known. Its "location" is actually that of a wireless router. Your iPhone 4 can use GPS, cellular triangulation, and Wi-Fi. One would think GPS would be most accurate but urban areas have a greater density of cells and GPS signals are easily obstructed so cellular triangulation is often more accurate.
Therefore the two devices' locations can be expected to be different. Differences of a quarter mile are easily explained if you understand how location services works: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1975

Location Services is not a "joke"; its intended use is for basic navigation and for such applications as determining where the nearest restaurant is. It cannot tell you that your iPod is under the couch cushions and that your iPhone is in the car. -
I lost my iPad mini while traveling recently. I tried using the Find My iPhone App (which showed my iMac, my iPhones, my old iPad, and my macbook) but the mini didn't show up...probably because it was turned off or the battery ran down.
I still have the original receipt from when I purchased it, showing the article number and the serial number. Is there any way to locate it with that info?No, unless you had Find My iPad enabled on it then there isn't any way to try and locate it.
Have you reported it to the police in case somebody hands it in ? You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and if it was a cellular model also contact your carrier. -

As long as you enabled it when you first activated your Iphone, it's pretty straightforward. Using any computer, go to icloud.com. Sign in with your Apple ID. A screen will come up with a map showing the general location of your phone. If you have a friend with an iphone and are logged in using Safari, when you get close, you can tell your iphone to make a sound. Good luck.

iCloud is Apple's new online service, replacing mobileme - http://www.apple.com/icloud/. The web account page is https://www.icloud.com/
Find my iPhone is a feature of iCloud - http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/find-my.html
And again, the downloadable app has nothing to do with making your iPhone discoverable by find my iphone. The app is used by a device to find another device which has had the trackable feature enabled in its iCloud account settings. Simply having the app on a device does NOT make that device trackable. In order to be able to find a device, you need to have an iCloud account on that device, and you need to enable the find-my-iPhone setting under that account - nothing to do with the app at all. -

A friendly reminder: In order to use Find My IPhone Successfully, you need to 1. Turn on Location Services, 2. Lock Location Services (Using Restrictions in Settings, General, Restrictions) so that if some one else finds your IPhone, they can NOT turn off Find My IPhone And/Or Location Services itself! 3. Add your Mobile Me and/Or ICloud Account to your IPhone. 4. Lock Accounts (Again in Restrictions) from being changed or Deleted so that your Mobile Me And/OR ICloud Account can NOT be Deleted! 5. Look Up the Location of your IPhone Before Suspending Service to the IPhone, NOT after Suspending Service (simple common since applies here as well).
