Your Mac is 3 versions of OS X out of date, current release is 10.9.1, minimum required for Lion is 10.7.4, you have 10.6.8.
Download 10.9.1 (Mavericks) from the App Store

Icloud is not showing up in my system prefrences
icloud is not showing up in my system prefrences, how do I correct this problem?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your profile shows you as using OSX 6.8, you need to upgrade to Lion to be able to use iCloud. -
I just downloaded lion and cloud does not show up in my system preferences. Where is it hiding so I can set up icloud and see what lion is offering that is different from snow leopard.
I purchased Lion on the app program but that did not seem to update my software or my operating system. Curious. It showed up on my menu bar saying it was downloading then disappeared. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Suggestions where I should look to make sure it is installed (which clearly it isn't)

Quicktime is not showing up in my system preferences?
I'm having a problem of seeing the question mark where a movie should be. According to this site http://www.boutell.com/newfaq/browser/bluequestionmark.html I'm to go to System Preferences and then select Quicktime advanced tab. The problem is that Quicktime is now showing up in my System Preferences but is in m application folder. How do I get Quicktime into my System Preferences?
I'm using OSX 10.6.8
MichelleThere is no QuickTime System Preference pane in Snow Leopard or Lion.
Give us a URL so we can examine the page you're having trouble opening. -
On my Intel based iMac, OS 10.6.8, my speakers suddenly were not transmitting sound. When I checked the System Preferences, Sound output, the headphone option was no longer available. This has always worked in the past - what is up?
Anyone have any suggestions???
EllenApplications > Utilities > AudioMIDI Setup.app
Audio Devices window
Side Bar
Click the Built-in Output.
Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so uncheck it.
Plug in the headphone and check whether in the output headphone shows up in the same panel.
If so, you can adjust the volume there.
Reset SMC and PRAM.

My icloud songs not showing up in my itunes window even though itunes match is turned on
my icloud songs not showing up in my itunes window even though itunes match is turned on
I Am having a similar issue with my husbands iTunes match. I restored a 2011 iMac and decided to download all my husbands music via iTunes match. Apart from taking ages, he only has 2,500 songs on the match, it greyed out lots of songs, which later I found out said that they were 'waiting' also, loads are missing. I tried following someone else's thread and tried to delete the greyed out ones so I can download again but I fear I may have completely deleted them. Also, I have a lot of duplicates, both on iCloud and both downloaded! What's happening? My iTunes appear to be behaving ok!

I backed up by phone and now icloud is not showing my pictures over 1400 of them help
I backed my phone up and now icloud is not showing my pictures over 1400 of them. help?
Why do you believe this is true?
If you had PhotoStream turned on and your photos were syncing to it, PhotoStream holds the last 30 days worth of photos (up to 1000 photos maximum) in the cloud and they should sync back to the phone. Any photos taken more than 30 days ago and any photos greater than the 1000 photo capacity of PhotoStream, will have already been purged from the cloud and are no longer available for download.
IF you had photostream turned on, it stands to reason that you probably also had iCloud backups turned on, in which case you should be able to wipe the phone (settings>General>Resets>Erase all content and Settings) and restore it from your most recent iCloud backup. -
Icloud is not showing up in system preferences on my imac
I am working on OSX 10.68 and I have just purchased icloud. For some reason, it isn't showing up in my system preferences. Anyone?
iCloud is not supported using 10.6.8, you must upgrade your version of OSX to (minimum of 10.7.2), upgrading to the current version (if your Mac will support it) is preferable (10.8.3)
iCloud is a free service, how did you manage to pay for it? -

How do I get the icloud to show up in my system preference? It only shows mobile me and will not let me in that.
Before you do anything you should check that your Mac meets the requirements for Mountain Lion:

how do i recover my purchased movies on itunes. the icloud does not show them and i have contacted apple twice before about this issue
Not all movies qualify for download on demand from iTunes in the Cloud, the rights may be reserved by the content provider and can vary by region. What response have you had from iTunes Store support?
If you have still have the computer they were on it might be possible to extract the hard drive, mount it in an external drive bay and recover the content from it.
