TS4006 is there a way to track a stolen ph with a special ID if it's activated by another user??

My purse was stolen yesterday and with it my Iphone 5. Seems like they have turned off my device, I also wiped it. so my question is ...
Is there a way to track a stolen ph with a special ID ???

The IMEI number is unique to the phone.  If you give this to your carrier they can often use it to blacklist the device, preventing it from being used on their network.  Technically they could probably also locate it if it's on their network, but I don't think they would do this without being instructed to do so by the police or a court order.

Is there a way to track "pages viewed" progress with PDF's?
Example: Student downloads a PDF from school portal -- Teacher can track who downloaded PDF, when and how many pages were view (where student stopped)? Similar to Flexpaper?

The only other way I can come up with at the moment is by submitting the data via a URL to your server... The user will still have to allow the URL to be opened, though.

Is there a way to track a lost ipod with the serial number?

Here are the Find my iPod instructions.   iCloud - Find My iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac - Apple Support
Apple do not have any form of service to find lost products.   But if it is lost, you can make a claim to your household insurance company or if it is stolen, report it to the police and send the report details to your insurance company.

  • Is there any way to track a stolen laptop using the mac address, or by triangulating the wifi, or even by checking to see if the macbooks serial number has been registered online anywhere?

A little info on my question,
I had it stoeln on June 22nd 2013. I had recently bought it so had not installed any software on it nor did I have registered with icloud. I had contacted police, registered it stolen with Apple (but then just discovered this week that apple do not have a database for stolen products, which makes no sense at all).
I have contacted all the major pawn shops and computer stores in town etc etc. I have recently discovered that each laptop has a unique MAC address whcih begs the question, is that traceable somehow? I have been made aware that the router strips the mac address before it connects it to the internet but does the isp log the laptops MAC address? If i contacted all the major isp in my country would they have the ability to search for the mac address of my latop and then link that with an ip address?
Any help would be great please!

Yeah but I registered it stolen with Apple first thing, then called local police etc. Apple told me on the phone that the serial has been logged as stolen, which I assumed would limit the computers use online.
Every machine has a unique serial number what I was getting at is there must be some way to track the serial number and for example if the theif logged onto facebook using a stolen machine, if there were a register of stolen equipment then red flags would pop up, you know what I mean?
Well, I hadn't heard of that before. If it's true, then what you say should also be true but the Mac would have to publish its hardware serial number over the Internet and I haven't heard of that either. The only Apple tech that is supposed to constantly track you is iCloud.
You said you assumed the database would limit use online but if that's only an assumption, you need to ask Apple what exactly the stolen database does. It is possible that the serial number might only get flagged if it comes into an Apple Store for service, if it ever does. You need to clarify this with Apple.

  • Is there any way to track my ipod touch with just its serial number?

I recently lost my ipod touch at a friends house, and we have been looking for almost a week now to find it. It may have been stolen, as there were other people at his house, but I can't be sure. It does not have i cloud installed. So according to all sources ive checked, there is no way to track it. If there is no way to track the device with the serial number, is there a way to remotely install i cloud on to my ipod? it has been gone for almost a week like i said, so it is unllikely that it has any power left. I know that most likely the answer to both these questions is no, but I dont want to give up yet.

    - The SN will only identify the iPod as your if it is recovered.
    - Since you can't contact the iPod you can't install anything one.
    - Report to police
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod.
    - Look for it the old fashioned way, like if you lost your wallet.
    - Apple will not do anything.

  • Is there a way to find a stolen ipod with the serial number?

a few days ago my ipod touch 4th gen was stolen and i was wondering if there was a way to track it using the serial number?

"yeah but there is still a way that you may track a phone"
Yes.  GPS and Cell tower triangulation.  They also appeared in front of congress to answer for doing this.  And they will NOT track a lost iphone either.
" i dont see why they cannot use the same thing to find an ipod "
They will not track a lost iphone either, for the same reason.
"hey could use the wifi to track the serial number"
No they cannot for the reason provided.  Privacy law violations among other things.
You could have used the find my ipod app to do this.  Apple cannot, just as no other manufacturer of devices will do it.
    Sorry.

  • Is there any way to recover a stolen Mac with iCloud?

About less than three weeks ago, my bookbag was stolen and inside was my MacBook Pro. I have an iCloud account and OS X v10.7.3 Lion is installed on the computer. So far, the computer or bookbag has failed to show up and I have already filed a police report, but since it was stolen from a hallway on campus at my college, there's no insurance to replace the computer that was stolen along with the bookbag. I have been keeping a close eye with the computer to see if it will show up on Find My Mac, but so far it has been shown offline. I went ahead and sent a remote lock and remote wipe once the computer is connected to the Internet to see if I can locate it.
I do remember someone telling me something about the remote lock feature and how it's hard to circumvent the feature, like if the person who stole the computer thought all you would need to do is replace the hard drive, but I was told that even replacing the hard drive would not work, because a remote lock is within the firmware or motherboard (logic board). Is this true?
So how would I be able to recover this computer? Also, are there any used, refurbished MacBook, MacBook Pro computers to get to replace this computer if it doesn't show up or isn't recoverable?
I was thinking about replacing this computer with an inexpensive Ubuntu PC laptop....
I did see a refurbished MacBook unibody white (last model) selling on Amazon for $749.

Used Macs of every description are always available on Ebay and Craigslist and from a plethora of online used-Mac resellers. Apple sells refurbished late-model Macs at 10-20% discounts with a new-computer warranty and the opportunity to extend the warranty with AppleCare.

I know there is a GPS system in the ipod touch, so I was wondering if if was possible for me to call the apple store, give them the serial number, and have them track the ipod's location?

If you had an active MobileMe account before it was lost, and the Find my iPod touch/iPhone feature was activated, and Location Services was on, and the iPod was connected to a WiFi network, and that WiFi network is in Skyhooks WifI location database, you might've been able to determine its very rough location (accurate to within 30m to 100m), and send the iPod a remote wipe command. >
Without those things, there's nothing you can do.

  • Is there any way to find a stolen iPad with an operating system of 5.1.1?

My older iPad with the operating system of 5.1.1 has been stolen. Not worth a whole lot, but it's the principle. Find my iPad, I believe, was turned on, but I don't know how to go about searching for it. Can anyone  help?

You'll need to log into your account at www.icloud.com and use the "Find My iPhone". If the iPad was truly activated, you would see it there. But, you still need to contact the proper authorities (the police) to retrieve it.

  • TS4006 Is there any way to find a lost/stolen iPhone's most recent location, or to track if the iPhone has been activated with another Apple ID?

The iPhone 5 was either lost or stolen, and it does not appear as online in the Find iPhone app. Can i access the last place it was online? And if i can't, is there any way to track my phone to see if the data was cleared and someone is using it with another Apple ID?

The last known location is displayed for up to 24 hours, then it is cleared until it goes back online, if ever.  If the phone has been restored and reactived as a new device, or erased and set up with a different ID, it can no longer be tracked.

  • Attachment downloading--is there a way to track percentage of big downloads in Apple Mail 5.2? (OSX Lion)

I have a satellite internet connection and have trouble with big downloads and connectivity in Apple Mail.  I've discovered the Window/Activity button to track the progress of those downloads, but all it gives me is a rolling barbershop bar that never goes anywhere.  Right now I'm trying to download fifteen attachments that came with a message, and some of the files (primarily pdfs) show up in their designated folders--others have not.  Is there a way to track percentage on these downloads?
Also, each of the files seems to have three progress bars rather than just one.
    All files are primarily 3-4MB.
    Thanks,
    Melissa

The inconsistent message text view and when the text for an received message is very small is caused by the sender using HTML for message composition.
Copied from Why HTML in E-Mail is a Bad Idea.
Because it introduces accessibility problems. When you write in plain text, the receiving mail client renders the text in whatever font the reader chooses. When you format email with HTML, the sender controls the formatting. But this is a trap: You only think your message will render the same way to the viewer as it appears to the sender. In reality, the receiver can end up squinting because the font looks so tiny, or vice versa. HTML is not rendered the same way from one viewing client to the next - all guarantee of accessiblity goes out the window. This is especially problematic for visually impaired persons.
The Mail.app does not include a preference setting to convert all text for received messages to RTF or Plain Text so what John provided does not apply when receiving a message that was composed in HTML.
You can do as woodie provided or with such as message open, at the menu bar go to View > Message and select Plain Text Alternative and what John provided will apply and it also applies when the sender uses RTF or Plain Text for message composition.

  • Is there a way to track modifications within a specific field on a contact record?

Is there any way to track and report on modifications that have been made to a specific contact field? We have an API synch set up with an external database. It currently writes to Eloqua when a customer initiates a change to their information in the external database. The field actually shows what they've changed on the external record. Since we're sending campaigns that encourage people to make these updates, I'd like to be able to run a report to show how effective our campaigns are, but since I don't have a snapshot of what was in the field before the campaign, I don't know how many people have actually made changes. Basically, I'm looking for a report that will show me "X" number of records were updated as a result of "XY" campaign.

I had hoped Mr Number would keep up to date, but White Pages says they have no plans to further the app.  I asked them why they had 2 apps at this point.  They said it was because some people preferred the user interface of each one or the other.  I know that MN can import from contacts to the block list, WP does not.  Neither incorporate G+, only LinkedIn, Twitter, and FB.  Most all ID apps have done the same thing for me, especially with a social media account linked.  The only time I've had to do a look up is if it is just not found and I know I don't know who it could possibly be, or if it happens more than once.  Mobile numbers are weird though:  WP has found a couple automatically, MN would find it if I looked it up, but at other times, MN couldn't find a name to go with a mobile number.

  • Is there a way to track Admin usage of ANM

Is there a way to track Admin usage of ANM (application network manager)?  We have a few servers running the ANM application.  Each ANM server points to/manages ACE blades (in the datacenter where the server resides).  I would like to understand how much the ANM gui is used for each of the servers.  I have looked through the GUI for some sort of report but wasn't able to find one.  Cisco ACS has the "Adminstration Audit" report which shows all admin activity of the application per admin user (per ACS server).  Is there an equivalent report for ANM?
In addtion I would like to know how much of the ACE config activity is spawned via CLI versus the ANM gui.
    thanks in advance,

    Just click on:
