TS4006 We thought my wife lost her phone and I initiated the erase feature.  She has now found it, and I want to cancel the erase instruction.  How do I do it?

We tghought my wife lost her Iphone 4, and I initiated the erase feature.  We have now found it and I want to cancel the erase instruction.  How do I  do it.

You can't cancel it.  What you can do is put it in airplane mode so it doesn't connect to the internet and start to erase, then back it up in iTunes (connect it to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of the phone in iTunes, go to the Summary tab and click Back Up Now, then go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases).  Then you can turn off airplane mode and let it erase; when it finishes, restore the backup you made earlier and sync it with iTunes.

If your Mac, iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should do in advance - before you lose it or it's stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

  • My wife lost her iPhone

My wife lost her iPhone. Is there an way to find it or delete information on the phone? I didn't have any apps installed on the phone to locate it. Should we be worried about information being stolen off the phone?  I have already suspended the phone's usage.  What are the next steps if it isn't found?

Is there an way to find it or delete information on the phone?
Not without a free iCloud account. With an iCloud account you can send a remote wipe command to the iPhone along with other options.
If she wasn't using the Passcode Lock, anyone that finds the iPhone can access everything on the iPhone. If the Passcode lock was being used along with an option for the iPhone to be completely erased after 10 failed passcode attempts, the iPhone will be erased after 10 failed passcode attempts.
Besides contacting your carrier, if the Passcode lock wasn't being used the password for all email accounts that were being accessed with the iPhone's Mail app should be changed.

  • Help!  Wife dropped her phone, Apple support is not use...

My wife dropped her phone (got it for her for Christmas, so not much time with it) right on the power button. This is a a used 4gb 2g model I bought used, it was perfect until now. I found info where others have done the same, I disassembled the phone and was able to free the power button. I don't think it is perfect though.
My problem is that now it says NO SERVICE, it won't pick up the carrier at all. I checked that the antenna connections were solid, performed a restore from a backup, and then a hard reset with a full reload restore to factory. I still can't get the unit to pick up service with AT&T.
    Any thoughts?

    Hello, Welcome to discussions.
Have you tried the SIM card in another at&t phone to see if the phone would get service? If it does not the SIM card needs to be replaced. If it does the SIM card is working.
From here on it could be Software/Hardware based. Are you able to backup and restore iPhone?

  • My fiancee have LOST her phone..HELP ME...URGENT!!!!

Can some one help me..its very important...my fiancee have lost her phone...unfortunately she did not install bb protect...what should i do?

If no Protect or other application (such as SmrtGuard) are installed, SHE needs to call her mobile provider and have the SIM card blocked so no fraudulent charges can be made to her account.
She can ask that her IEMI be blocked due to loss of the device, some carriers will do this, most will not.
That's about all you can do.

  • My partner has lost her phone how does she get all the music pics back and into a new iPhone?

My partner has lost her phone but how does she get her iTunes music that she has bought back onto her new iPhone?

That won't do the trick. You really need the computer. That way all your data and files can be backed up when you backup the computer.
Your only other option, which is much more limited, is using iCloud:

Sounds like you have a phone that was hacked to unlock it. Updating has re-locked it to the original carrier. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Contact them.

How did she change her AppleID?
If she simply updated the AppleID (not created a new one with a new email address), log out then log back into iTunes store.

  • I recently updated a friends iPhone 3 to I cloud , however some contacts have disappeared. These seem to be the ones that were added onto her phone and not her sim. As I have done a sim import. This is the first time she has ever done a back up and sync.

No, sorry... did not happen becasue no such model exists.
If the device is in recovery mode, any data on it is already lost.
    The only options are:
Restore the device to get it functional.
    Enjoy the paper weight.
For what reason did you attempt to update the device without first ensuring that your data was safe, meaning backing up the device and copying important pictures/videos taken with the device to a computer?

Hi, we have three iPhones and iPods which are currently linked to one apple ID.  I have now set up an apple id for each phone/iPod.  How do I go about re-directing the two accounts to the relevant one that has now been set up please?  I could do with a step by step guide to follow as am worried about loosing aps, music, photo's etc which are on the individual phones.
    Thanks
    Mandi

On each of the phones you're gonna use a new Apple ID for iCloud: turn off Contacts, Calendars, etc. for iCloud. You'll be prompted to keep the data or delete it from the phone, then turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then, setup iCloud using the new Apple ID, turn on iMessage & Facetime.
This will have no affect on the ID you share for iTunes content, & you can continue to do so.

  • My daughter is currently using my Apple ID with her ipod touch.  I will be upgrading her to an iPhone 4S and would like to use a differnt Apple ID and a new computer and still keep all the current music and apps that she has now.  How do I do this?

My daughter is currently using my Apple ID with her ipod touch.  I will be upgrading her to an iPhone 4S and would like to use a different Apple ID and a new computer and still keep all the current music and Apps that she has now.  How do I do this?

Make a new Apple ID for her.
Use it on her iPhone 4S for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime.
Use your ID on her iPhone 4S for iTunes and App Stores.
Sign in with your Apple ID on iTunes Store (on iTunes app of her new computer)
Authorize her new computer with your Apple ID in iTunes (iTunes menu>Store>Authorize this Computer)
Check "Share my Library on my Local Network" in iTunes Preferences in your and her computer
Sign in Home Sharing of her iTunes with your Apple ID.
Copy all the Music she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Copy all the apps she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Export all playlist as xml files from the old computer to the new one.(right click on the playlist to export and "File>Library>Import Playlist to Import)
Sync her iPhone 4S with all content she wants from her new computer (all data from the old computer will be deleted)
Are you sharing Contacts or other data from iCloud?
Be careful or ask for help about moving from iCloud account to another one.
