If you have Lion and wireless you can use Airdrop to copy files back and forth. (You don't need an internet connection, just two reasonably recent Lion machines with WiFi cards.)

There's two ways to buy Aperture. Either buy the retail version that comes in a box, or buy it from the App Store. The license terms are not the same.
If you buy the "box" version then the terms are as Emily posted above (you can install it on one desktop and one laptop as long you own both computers and only use one at a time.)
If you buy it via the App Store then the terms are different:

If you are a private user (not a business or school) then the license applies more like a "family pack" license... as long as it's your computer, you can install and use it. You can even run more than one copy at the same time.

Sounds like a question for a Windows 7 support forum. I don't use Win7, but in WinXP if you right-click a desktop icon and open Properties, there is a button for '''Change Icon'''. As finitarry alluded to, you will need to come up with your own icon file of the correct size. Keep in mind that Nightly updates frequently, actually it updates '''''nightly''''', and you may find that you need to replace that icon every day. ''Speculation on my part, I have never wasted my time replacing a desktop shortcut icon for a program that updated frequently. And if you spent any time searching for how to do that specifically for Firefox, anything you might have found about fiddling Firefox program files or the Firefox Profile folder hasn't worked since the Firefox 3.0 version.''

May CDs keep popping out when I place them in my desk top mac. What should I do? I checked to make sure the CDs are good and the right format.

Ok, I found Preview. It doesn't say "new" just open then that takes me to a screen with files on my desktop.
Is there a clipboard somewhere that I can paste on to? I don't see one in preview. New from clipboard is light so I can't click on it. help........

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it's already running the newest OS it can.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, follow the Core Duo instructions, and if desired, open the Mac App Store, and try downloading 10.9. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.

I have an older desk top Mac that I use the mail the one with the eagle and all of the sudden it stopped and can't get it back on...

The prompt came on to sign in to mobile me which took me to outer space did not work as I don't even remember that password and I thought it was disabled. If i delete everything and start again I loose years of work as nothing is backed up correctly. Please tell me how to bypass mobile me and get my mail back on it worked fine a few days ago.

You obviously don't use email much - Mobile.me was discontinued in June 2011!

Thumb drive works on MacBook Pro but not on Mac desk top

I have bought two separate thumb drives that are MAC/PC compatible. They will work on my MacBook Pro but not my desk top Mac. Both are less than a year old. Desk top will read older thumb drives w/o problems, but not the new ones.

Lost Creative cloud App from desk top

The Creative cloud installer is missing from my desk top ( Mac )
If I click on the Icon in applications it says ( The application CC is no longer open )
I downloaded the Creative cloud installer and when I tried to run it it says ) Another version is running Please quit and retry error code 86 )
Light room and Photoshop are running ok but I cant update them

You have to search with some patience and you will find all the informations on the Apple support pages and here in this forum.
You find i Cloud in SAFARI at www.icloud.com and set as you like.
Usually iCloud sincs all the devices which have the same AppleID.
If you wish to use devices for different persons you need to give them different AplleID and on the MAC create different User Accounts. Each will be fully separate.
Or you can go to settings (settings are to be found under the apple icon on top left of the screen) and from there open Sistem Preferences and iCloud.

Where is the battery located in my desk top HP pavillion a1440n and how to remove it

Have an HP Pavillion a1440n desk top. Need to change the battery for it's loosing time. Do not see a full battery, but see what looks like a patial battery in a patial black small container. If that is the battery, how do I go about removing it from it's case and how to I ground myself/computer.

I was cleaning up the desk top on an old power mac G4 when I restarted an got a circle with slash and the small spinning wheel under it nothing else

I received an old Power Mac G4 Quick Silver and was cleaning the desk top. When I restarted all I got was a circle with a slash and the small spinning wheel under it...nothing else

I suppose 3.6V PRAM battery is run out , so you'd better replace it.
Or resetting PRAM could solve the problem.
