TS4009 not enough storage to update apps
Can't update my apps or download latest IOS to my ipad2. States I don't have enough storage. Have Ipad2
You need to delete some of your iPad's *on-board* (Apps, music, videos, etc) content to make room.
Settings>General>Usage. Delete Apps you don't need from here or music & videos you no longer need on the device.
The storage you are likely talking about "purchasing" is for iCloud Storage where your backups of music and content are stored *as a backup*. You get 5GB for free but need to purchase additional if you need it. You cannot run apps from iCloud...they must be on the actual device.

My update all button will not work in the app store. It keeps giving me a crazy message about not having enough storage to update apps. Please help? I know i have storgage on icloud and on the phone itself. Any ideas? Thanks
Try deleting the old backup.
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the device name and on the resulting screen, scroll down and tap on Delete Backup. -
TS4009 not enough storage message will not go away
I am getting the message " Not enough storage. This ipad cannot be backed up because there is not enough icloud storage available. You can manage your storage in settings." But when I try to touch either the settings button or close button, nothing happens. It is like it is locked up. Have turned it off and back on and get the same issue.
Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

Pop-up window says
Not Enough Storage
This iPad cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud Storage available.
You can manage your storage in Settings.
--> But when I try to touch the Setting button, it dosen't work.
So, I purchaseed more storage on Website..
But it still doesn't work as well.
Some how I can't turn it off.The problem could be that you don't have enough storage on the iPad itself. Go to Settings>General>Storage to see how much "Storage" you have available. Farther down the list is the available storage on iCloud.
A device needs many MB of storage in order to perform a backup to iCloud.
IF THE SETTINGS ICON DOESN'T WORK, REBOOT THE DEVICE (HOLD POWER AND HOME BUTTONS AT SOME TIME AND WAIT FOR SLIDER TO APPEAR; SLIDE IT OFF. -
TS4009 not enough storage ipad cant be backed up and has frozen

If you're still having this problem, try resetting it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

How do I restore my iPad 2 after backing it up and updating to the current iTunes and now getting an error message staying I can't restore due to lack of storage now on my iPad?
Try to offload photos you don't need on your iPad, delete apps that don't get used often. Videos that you have already wathced, books you have already read. Clear up enough space to do the update, Then add content back as you need it.

Not enough storage even after app deletion and reset
I've deleted all of the apps and have cut down on the music and yet it still says I've used 12.6 GB with 1.2 left over. I had a ton of apps before (my kids games mostly) and even with them gone I get the message that I don't have enough. I also deleted all of the pictures. I reset the ipad completely and yet it still tells me I have only 1.2 GB left. How can this be?
How much space is your Other using? You may be able to reduce.
How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

What are my options for increasing storage capacity besides purchasing more memory, or deleting existing content. The new software install used up much of my storage capacity and the message is driving me crazy. Any ideas?? Thanks!
There are two kinds of storage messages that appewr on iOS devices. Your question seems at odds with your description so there might be some confusion here.
If the storage refers to not enough for an icloud back up then you need to purchase more icloud space or turn off iCloud backup. You can backup using iTunes on your computer with paying for additional iCloud storage.
if the storage refers to that on your iOS device as in there is not enough storage to update, then you have two options and neither option involves adding more storage since the amount of storage on an iOS devoce is fixed. One option is to delete stuff from your device to free up more space. The second option is to complete the update while your devoce is connected to your computer running the latest version of iTunes. When you do that the update is downloaded to your computer and extracted there so it doesn't require as much free space on your iOS device. -
Why does my iPhone 5 keep saying "cannot download" "There is not enough storage to download 'Facebook'. (Btw, I already have fb on my iphone 5, just trying to update it). You can manage your storage in Settings... Well, in settings, I have plenty of storage left that I bought... called iCloud! What's up with this piece of $500 junk I bought from apple, that it won't allow me to record memorable moments in my life!!! Should I go back to android, which lets me record hours of video/audio/pictures, without ever "CHARGING ME EXTRA", never even a dime!!! What a waste of time, energy, resources, etc. I miss Steve Jobs... He wouldn't have screwed his customers over like this!
Go to Settings>General>Usage and see how much available local storage you have available. You can also see what apps are taking up the most room.
You say that you paid for more iCloud storage. That's for back ups. You can't download apps to it or steam media from it. In order to take pictures you have to have space on the phone itself.
Best of luck. -
I did the ios6 software update on my iphone and it did not complete because it said there was an error. It then gave me a message that I needed to restore my phone. When I tried to restore my backup it says it cannot be completed because there is not enough storage. I cant delete anything to make more storage because my phone is not usable because it wont restore. What do I do?
Something in your backup may be corrupt. Try wiping it and setting it up as a new device, then sync your apps, data and media back to it from iTunes. DO NOT resotre from your backup. If the problem is contained in the backup, it will bring it right back again if you restore.

How to load update iSO8.1.2 when not enough storage
I Have 20gb of cloud storage but am unable to load software update ISO 8.1.2 as not enough storage message shows ? I have a 13.5 Gb with 265 mb available what can I do to load this update and do I even need it?
Your iCloud storage gives you extra space for your backups, to update your iPad's iOS version you need free space on your iPad.
Only you will know whether you want to update iOS 8 (some apps now require iOS 8+) - this lists some of the new featured : http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/
If you update via your computer's iTunes then it should require less free space on your iPad, as it can use your computer, to update directly on your iPad you will need to remove some of your content from it e.g. do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy iTunes downloads over to your computer's iTunes library so that you can delete them from your iPad (e.g. films, TV programmes, music).
But if you do decide to update, whichever way you do it do the Transfer Purchases, take a backup, and preferably take your own copy of any important documents, photos etc - they should be included in the backup but it's best to have your own copy as well. -
My iPad air is missing some apps from my phone. It keeps saying, " there is not enough storage available to download...." I purchased additional storage twice, my device now shows 18GB free of a total 25GB, and still I cannot download apps I've had for yrs
iCloud space is for backup only.
You need more local storage; free up space on iPad:
Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Delete what is not needed to free up space on iPad. -
Every time I try to update the 4s or 4 it is saying not enough storage. I am really hating this phone now because I am not going to buy storage. We have 5 iPhones on our account and now because of iCloud it does this.
your iCloud storage isnt part of your phone, that is a back up for your phone, you have to delete things on your phone, so I recommend backing up your photos to your computer or iCloud since im sure thats whats taking up all your storage, then delete the photos on your phone and then update your phone using iTunes on your computer.

Trying to update phone and keeps saying not enough storage how do i fix it
I have deleted almost every picture off my phone cause it kept telling me not enough storage. I am trying to update, but it won't let me . It keeps saying not enough storage.... How do I fix this cause it should have plenty now !
Settings/General/About/Available will tell you how much free storage you have. From memory you need at least 1.4 GB or so to update to iOS 7 over WiFi (I strongly suggest you have more than that, 2-3 GB is safer for the iOS 7 upgrade).
If you have problems freeing up enough space on your phone then update it via iTunes instead, that's both more likely to work without issues and doesn't require all that free space on the phone to start with.

IPhone 4 not enough storage/deleted apps
My daughter has an iPhone 4. It's not allowing her to download any applications now because it's telling her that there is not enough storage. When that's not true. She only has very few apps on the phone. She also woke up this morning to find that a few of the apps that she does have, have been deleted. I'm not sure what's going on. Any ideas?
Hi MAIAHSDAD,
If your daughter's iPhone 4 appears to be too full to download anything new, I would see if the steps in this article help resolve that:
