TS4036 delete a backup in use from icloud

Hi, I need to know how can I chage the status of a backup from my previous phone. I tried to delete it from my icloud storage but says: the backup cannot be deleted because it is in use!
HELP please I sold the other phone and I need that space in my account.

If they were in the camera roll on your iOS device when it was last backed up, they would be included in the backup. Restoring the entire backup should recover them.

Look, there are a million threads on this already.
The facts are:
1) you can't delete individuals photos from Photostream. Simple as that.
2) if you want to delete all the photos, then switch PS off on all your devices (including iPhoto), go to iCloud.com, click on your name, go to advanced settings and reset PS. They will be gone from all your devices and iCloud.
3) switch PS back on in all the same devices.
Let's hope this is sorted out in the near future.

No, not unless you have a backup for the important data on your Mac stored on an external drive or some other external media that includes the iPhone's backup.

OP you need to be more specific. ARE you saying that they did not restore from your icloud backup? Or are you saying that they didn't show up under your photostream?
If its the 2nd one, because photos are only available to other devices in your photostream for 30 days. Beyond that, they only show on the original device. To get around this, you can, on the original device, share them all to a shared photostream, inviting only yourself to share the photostream and them you'll be able to access them on the new device. Fair warning, sharing them to the shared photostream can take some time so don't delete them till they all show up.

Can't delete a song somehow downloaded from iCloud OS 8.1.2

I cannot get rid of a song on my iPhone. Previously, I had Show All Music enabled, so several of the songs in my iPhone were in iCloud but with a little download icon (cloud). Once this song played, however, it stayed, which is odd, I guess. Never saw that problem before. Anyway, now that the song is there, and I turned off Show All Music, I can't get rid of it. it's the only one. I used to be able to delete songs right on my phone, well at least for about a minute between iOS upgrades. But that privilege seems to be gone, unfortunately, What do I do? If you'd like to delete a song that you downloaded from your previous iTunes purchases, then please follow the directions outlined below.
Music
Open the section below for the device you are using.
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Tap the Music app.
Tap the Songs category.
Swipe left over the song you want to delete.
Tap Delete.

Look I have uninstalled the old programs from all devices yet they stay on the iCloud why?

The apps are always accessible in iCloud in the event that you want to download them again. If you have deleted them from your iPad then what's the problem?
If you are still running iOS 5, you can hide the purchased apps if it bothers you to see them in the purchased tab of the App Store? Is that what you are talking about anyway?
You did remove the apps that you don't want by tapping and holding down on the app icon until the X pops up correct?

If you delete your backup on iTunes and iCloud and then wipe the phone to factory settings, does that delete all iMessages from being read on other devices (re:iPad)?

If you physically delete ANY file, you CANNOT acess it from the cloud. Because THERE'S NOTHING TO ACCESS anymore...
If you move your files to the EHD, you need to point your library to the EHD or NONE of the songs will be available anywhere, including the MBA.
EVERYTHING on your iPhone will likely have to be "reacquired" once the move is complete.

From an ipad you can't see the files in icloud's documents folder unless you use the specific app associated with a given file, like Pages. Can you describe what you are doing on the ipad? What app are you using?

My main question is do I turn off icloud now or after I've set up back-up on itunes? I originally set up backup using icloud but have reached my free maximum storage. I don't want to pay for additional storage,. Do I need to back up to itunes first, then turn off icloud? Or turn off icloud then backup to itunes? Thanks!

Welcome to the Support Communities!
I would suggest backing up to iTunes first, and then just turn off the iCloud Backup setting on your iPhone. As an extra precaution, I also import my iPhone purchases into iTunes, and import my photos directly to the computer. While we are talking about backups, do you have your iTunes library backed up using Time Machine (Apple) or an external drive? Here are a couple of articles that may be helpful for you:
