can i actually see the information...photos, old email, old documents from an i cloud back up without having to download it onto my iMac or iPad? I want to look at the information on my desk top with no downloading...

That is NOT viewing the contents of an iCloud backup, which is what BPLynch asked.
What you describe is simply viewing what documents are stored in iCloud apps that use the "Documents in the Cloud" feature.
iCloud only backs up iOS devices. Saving a document to iCloud from an iCloud-enabled app is NOT a backup.

If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.
searching the internet i found a link to upgrtade to 10.7
The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.

I got an iCloud helper message on my iPhone and now I can't use the internet

Hi all,
I received a message on my computer from iCloud helper? Saying I had a virus and it lists everything that is at risk, and then says to call a number. I'm maybe not the most brilliant, and I called. I allowed remote access to my computer and she wanted to charge me 99.95 to clean my mac. I said no. I then deleted and cleared my download folder, all website data and restarted my computer. I updated the software and it was restarted again. I can use my computer fine, but I can't use the internet on my iPhone 4s.
I have closed the internet, turned off the wifi, turned it back on. Restarted my phone. Cleared website data and it still gives me the same message.
Just not sure if I have totally screwed myself or what to do to fix it.

Okay than this definitely was not Apple. Apple support techs never have access to your mouse. It sounds like this company installed some software on your Mac. It is hard to tell what their intentions are but just assume in these situations that all your data was compromised. Possibly all your online accounts have been compromised such as social networks, banks, etc.. The smartest thing to do would be to change all of your passwords and reinstall OS X on your Mac. It sounds extreme but that's what happens when a 3rd party company gains control of your computer.

perfect. ok do the following:
settings > mail, contacts, calendars > go into the exchange account. You should have an email in the account field...[email protected] or [email protected], etc.... I am assuming you don't remember the password to this exchange account so once you know the email, you can go to email providers site and click on forgot password and you will go through the steps to get a new password. Once you do this, you will need to go back into your "exchange account " and the field that has the exchange email > touch the > to open settings. Change the password to your new password you got from above. Once you do this, you can add the exchange account to your ipad and all of your contacts will sync to both devices.
Please confirm.

If you didn't have Find My iPhone enabled with your iCloud account settings on the iPhone along with location services enabled, you must look for it the old fashioned way.

TS4036 icloud back up issue please help!

on my iphone4, settings, icloud - i am being prompted to enter terms and conditions before being allowed to do anything within icloud. when i click the link i get an error stating i am unable to connect to the server. how can i resolve this?

I know this is tough but you may have to Restore as New...
As to Losing your Photos... the iPhone is not a Storage Device...
If you Regularly Sync your iPhone... your Photos, Contacts, Etc.. will be on your computer...
So after a Restore as New they can be Re-synced to the phone...
You are probably aware of all this and it doesn’t help your particular situation...
But... if you don’t have a Backup you can use I don’t know what else to suggest...
maybe someone else has a better suggestion...

I am trying to restore from ICLOUD onto my new IPAD 2 but am unable to find where I can choose an older backup date to restore my data. When I get to the part of choosing a restore date it only gives me 2 options.

I have a 4g iphone without the IOS software ( or the latest version of it.) I have exhausted the devices that I can exchange info. on which I believe is 5. 3 o out of the five broke. I am able to sync my phone and get apps, books, and music (thankfully from my phone to my latest computer, but not vice versa. In order to update and downlaod the IOS software it says I need to back up all of my info. Will purchasing the latest subscription of icloud 24.99 per year help me or should I just excpet that I will lose my lateset notes, text messages, and contacts through the update. I also want to make sure that after I update, I will be able to get all of the info back onto my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Used MacBook Pro iCloud help please

I just purchased a used MacBook Pro and when I went to put in my icloud information it tells me something about 90 days and all my apps that I have purchased for all my other Apple Devices will not transfer over.
Does this mean my icloud will not work for 90 days? I cannot seem to find a spot to run the icloud or back up on this computer like my ipad iphone and mac computer.

My friend and I shared an icloud Help please!!!!

I Was the first of my friends to get an iphone. Then my two friends came along and got their own. I let them use my Apple ID for free things only. I guess it automatically signed into my icloud. They both made their own afterwards, but I keep getting one of my friends text messages and I tried Facetiming one of them and it called the other. I really don't know what's going on. I know we used the same Apple ID but now that we've all made our own since we all updated to ios7, I keep getting my friend's texts. How do I stop it? Help please

iCloud was experiencing problems with this a couple of days ago, where many users with shared calendars were getting email notifications even though their iCloud settings did not select to receive them. Perhaps when they fixed this problem it reverted your settings to not receive email notifications. Got to iCloud and check your setting for this. If it still look correct, try turning off email notifications, save the change, then turn them back on again and save the change again.

TS4036 iCloud Back up Error This iPad has not been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked and connected to Wi-Fi. I am unable to shut off my iPad or even do anything on it. It will not let me get past this error.

Hold Sleep and Home buttons for 10 seconds until your iPad restarts, so you will be able to use the iPad again. Finally, open Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup to make a manual backup
