TS4036 My icloud back up takes a long time !  What is the problem ?

I need help please , i am trying to backup my icloud for more than two days !! Still backing up and not finished yet

The time it takes is entirely dependent on how much data you are trying to backup, and how fast your upload speed is.
Are you on a slow upspeed connection?

I belive that the trigger is being changed on the io board, but cannot manage to reset it.
The reset process takes in the order of 0.1 sec, and since this is a time critical application, i want to get the scanning function working again faster

Dear Ian. Thank you for your reply. The problem appears to be that the scan trigger(s) are stopped, or something, by the use of the AI_setup instruction. The sytstem works perfectly until this instruction is used. My problem is in understanding what has happened since the help seems to give no detail on any interconnection between the scan system and the external analog trigger system. I have tried to reconnect the triggers, but so far unsucessfuly

  • F4 Process takes a long time to show the values

    Hi gurus,
We are facing an issue with the InfoObject Sup. Company Code 0COMP_CODE, this characteristic has 200 enties in the Master Data, and 10000 values in the SID table.
This infoObject is being used in a Query (3.X version) and when we press the F4 to obtain the values, it takes a long time to show them.
The query takes data from a Multiprovider, and the multiprovider only has one Cube.
The issue is happening with a lot of query (obviosly, with the same object), and there is no reason to do it I think, because the amount of records is not too much (10 K rec).
So, what do you think is happening? all your help will be helpfull.
    Regards, Federico

    Frederico / Rob,
setting the InfoObject property of 'Query execution filter value selection' to 'values in master data table' has the consequence that it is indeed faster on the query selection screen, but then when selecting filter values after the report has been displayed is not restricted to the values in the report results - again all master data values are shown for selection. This is not acceptable to our users.
Ideally, I would like to see two settings for query execution - master data for the initial selection screen, only posted values for navigation after the query has been executed. But I doubt that's going to happen.
In BW3.5 I seem to remember that you can set the choice of F4 display within the web template (can't in BI7).
NB for BI7 Java execution, examine the 'order for F4 help' on the InfoObject attributes and remove most of SAP's default settings. This will speed things up a little.

  • When using photos from the "Media" option in Applescripts and other apps, it takes a LONG time to load the photos from iPhoto...

It also happens when using the Media option in programs like iMovie. Has anyone found a solution for this problem?

    That is long...
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    If it is...
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots  and see if the problem is repeated there.

  • HT5661 I would like to erase my iPhone from my iCloud accout, but my iPhone cannot be found. iCloud is searching for a long time, what did I do wrong?

I sold my iPhone last week, however I forgot to delete it from iCloud. I restored my phone before shipping it. Now I'm trying to delete it from iCloud, but it cannot be found.
    Thanks for the help.

You don't need to find, just remove it. That feature usually shows up next to phone's name like a little crosshair, if you hover with your mouse cursor. Sometimes phone needs to be turned off for that, but it sounds like it is already wiped and should work.

  • I've recently switched routers on my iMac. The set-up appeared to go well, and my incoming mail is working, but my outgoing mail is not. I spent a long time sorting out the problem with my provider, who told me the problem is on the "Apple side".

I've recently switched routers on my iMac. The set-up seemed to go well, and the incoming mail works. The outgoing mail is the issue - it sits in the outbox buffering and doesn't send. After several calls to my service provider they decided the issue was on the "Apple side" since my internet connection seemed to be working fine, and all input information was correct - ports selected, etc. Any ideas what to try next?

Open Keychain in Utilites and delete all the "outgoing" entries (will probably be smtp.<your ISP name>.net). Then go into Mail Preferences>Accounts, clear out any passwords for the outgoing. Can't say exactly where this is or what this looks like in 10.7, since I'm running 10.6. Then enter new (EDIT: or can be the same old ones) passwords, or password. Allow Keychain to save those new ones.
FWIW, here's what this looks like in mine.

  • Time Machine/Time Capsule backups successful, but take a long time

I purchased a 512GB Time Capsule about a year ago. Since I got it, backups have been successful, but very slow. An average backup takes about 40-50 minutes, usually for less than 20 MB transferred.
Here are a couple summaries of recent backups (see end of post for full logs):
    BACKUP 1:
11 minutes to detect if pre-backup thinning was necessary
18 minutes to copy 281 MB
5 minutes to copy 5.4 MB
4 minutes to start post-backup thinning
2 minutes to delete 1 expired backup
    There were no error messages.
    BACKUP 2:
4 minutes to detect if pre-backup thinning was necessary
12 minutes to copy 15 MB
5 minutes to detect if pre-backup thinning was necessary
15 minutes to copy 3.8 MB
1 minutes to start post-backup thinning
2 minutes to delete 1 expired backup
This time, there were error messages about "Unable to rebuild path cache for source item. Partial source path:"
My Time Capsule is placed about 5 feet from my laptop, with no obstructions between them. I don't think it's a wireless speed issue, because I use the Time Capsule as my router, and my connection to the net is fine. Also, operations that don't require wireless connections, like detecting pre-backup thinning, also take a long time.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong to cause my regular backups to take so long?

One other thing thing you might try, is a +*Verify Disk+* (not permissions) on your internal HD. That will not take anything like 40 hours! If it reports problems, you'll have to boot from your Install disc and use it's copy of DU to repair it. Post back if you need to do this but aren't sure how.
I think it's very fishy that Repair Disk took 40 hours -- it seems like any operation that touches the hard drive on the Time Capsule takes a long time. Maybe the hard drive is having problems? What sort of problems could a drive have that would make everything VERY slow, but still successful?
Try connecting via an Ethernet cable; see what effect that has. Everything should be faster, of course, but not wildly. Just as an example, I'm doing backups to a USB hard drive via my Airport Extreme, about 15 feet from my iMac. When I first started that way, I did a full backup via Ethernet (about 21 gb/hour), then erased it and ran again wirelessly (about 12 gb/hour).
Even 5 feet apart, you may have some sort of interference or other communications problem; if Ethernet is many times faster, then you may need to have your TC and/or wireless card examined.

  • Filter value selection in Queries takes a long time

    Hello BW gurus....
I have a problem here. When a user tries to run a consolidated query it takes a long time. what are some of the performance tuning that can be done. My other issue is that once the query is run and the user tries to change the filter values say hes trying to restrict Cons group it takes like 30 min for the options to come up or even more than that and eventually fails. Is there any thing which i can do to improve the performance of these filter value selection option. we are on portal EP 6.0. I know this has nothing to do with interface but the crux of the problem is in the back end.
    Any help is really appreciated
    thanks
    SG

The Only Posted Values in Navigation generates a query that must examine most to your cube to find all filter options that correspond to your query.  If the cube is large and you don't have much in the way of other restrictions, this can take a while. The benefit of this option is that the user is only presented with filter options that are in the domain they are interested in.
If you switch to either of the other options, the filter options are quickly deteremined by examing either the dimension or master table.  The downside is that those filter options may not be in the data the your query would exclude, e.g.
Lets say you have a query on Bus Area and Cost Center.
    - Master Data for Cost Centers = 0001 - 9999
    - Cost Centers in your data are 0001 - 2999
    - Only Cost Centers 1000 - 1099 in Bus Area 10.
If you have an input variable to select only Bus Area = 10 and run the query, then want to filter on Cost Center:
    - with Only Values in Navigation, the user would only see Cost Centers 1000 - 1099 in the filter selection list.
    - with Only Values in InfoProvider, the user would see Cost Centers 1000 - 2999.
    - with Only Values in Master Data, user would see 0001 - 9999.
This may or may not be acceptable.  If a user chooses Cost Center 2000, the query would copme back with No Available Data since ther are not transaction with Bus Area = 10 and Cost Center 2000.
Now lets say you are using CALMONTH, chances are the user would understand that if they select a November of 2006 while in August, they wouldn't get any data. They might understand what Cost Centers to expect back in Bus Area 10, but they may not be as familiar with all the values for all Characteristics.
Like everything else, there are pros + cons.

Time machine takes very long time to write the back up.
For writing 2,33 GB (from 26,33GB) it takes abou14 hours and I don't know, why it is so very slow. I work with USB 3.0 2 TB external hard disk drive.
