TS4036 Why is icloud taking too long to create backup, seems as though it's frozen.

This is my first time I use iCloud to back up my phone.  I purchased an additional 20GB for a total of 25GB of storage. According to my phone, I have 17.3 GB of free memmory.  My question is this: Why is it taking so long to create a backup?  My phone is reading "Backing Up" and "Estimating time remaining" for about 10 mins thus far and the progress bar is still at the original point it started 10mins ago.  There has been no progress and still have no estimated time remaining.  What is going on with my phone?  Should I just give up and get Apple to refund me the $20 for the additional space?  Thanks!

Hold the Power button until your MacBook turns off and turn it on again.
If you don't see anything on the MacBook's display and OS X is not starting up, reset the SMC > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 Then, turn on the Mac and hold the Shift key while your Mac is starting up to start up in safe mode, so you can start up your computer without loading other apps. Finally, uninstall Seagate apps > http://forums.seagate.com/t5/GoFlex-Net-GoFlex-Home/How-to-uninstall-on-Mac/m-p/ 92100
After uninstalling the apps, restart again and see if OS X Mavericks can start up. If not, hold Command and R keys while your Mac is starting and reinstall OS X. If this doesn't work, you will have to erase the drive.
I don't recommend you to install the Seagate apps, as you probably don't need them

  • Why is icloud taking so long

    Icloud back ups keep failing.
However, this time it seems to be working but painfully slow.  It's been chugging away for 12 hours now.  originally it said it would need 19 hours.  Today it says it has 16 hours remaining.  What gives?

What does download iCloud mean? You don't download iCloud. You download the content that is in your iCloud backup to your phone. If you have a great deal of content in the backup, it can take a good bit of time.
Define "so long". That doesn't mean anything to anybody here. It's a relative term and we have no idea how much time "so long" is to you.

  • Why is it taking too long to shut down

all this while it just took 2 sec to shut down ... thn suddenly my mac book pro retina takin more thn 10 sec to shut down... plizz someone help me!

MacBook Pros do not run Mac OS 9.2.x.  They may run Mac OS X 10.9.2, which is an operating system that is at least 11 years newer.    Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to verify your Mac OS X version.
10 seconds is still not bad, but any software you may have installed may slow it down.   Also, remember, Macs do not always quit applications when you close their last window.   Go to the menu for the application to Quit it.  Use command-Tab to verify nothing else is open other than the Finder, as that is always open.

  • Query taking too long to finish

    Hi,
I'm running a query which is
    Delete from msg where ID IN (select ID from deletedtrans );
It's taking too long to complete, it has been running for 24 hours already and not completed executing the query, I cancelled the query. I don't understand why it's taking too long, does anyone have any idea? I feel that this query should not take too long to complete

That seems to be too small piece of information to comment anything.
    1. How many records are there in "deletedtrans" table ?
    2. How many records from "msg" table are expected to be deleted ?
    3. Are statistics up-to-date on "msg" and "deletedtrans" tables ?
    4. Is "ID" column defined as NULL or NOT NULL in both "msg" and "deletedtrans" tables ? (Not sure whether this will cause any problem, but...)
    5. Is this statement being executed when other users/applications are accessing/updating "msg" table ?

  • ICloud has been upgrading since last night and still upgrading, why is it taking so long?!

icloud is king has been upgrading since last night, why is it taking so long?

If your iPhone 4 IOS version 5.x, you can directly update through the phone.
Put the iPhone on Wall charger and make sure your Wi-Fi is connected.
    Settings > General > Software Update >
If you have have IOS before 5.0 then you need to update through computer iTunes with your iPhone connected and selected.
If you're using MS Windows, disable anti-virus or similar programs before you update.

  • Why mac taking too long to wake-up??

I dont know ahy but my mac is taking too long to wake up after sleep mode. As I open up the lid, the password screen pops up quickly but after I type in the password, it takes too long to open up. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

It might have something to do with the SSD, what is the size of your Ram ?? do an extensive test on your RAM which will take a long time. Bad RAM can do wacky things and work fine until you do something specific or push the system hard. Have a look at this articles here, might be helpful: https://www.ewal.net/2012/09/09/slow-wake-for-macbook-pro-retina/

    no

iCloud only give so much space for free storage, then if you exceed the limit of 5gb you have to pay for additional storage.

I was also having this problem after having successfully used iTunes Match previously. The problem appears to be when there are two version of songs and one of them has the iCloud icon made using a dotted line. Here's what solved it for me:
    1. Identify your duplicate files. I have a large library, so I elected to use Dupin Light (available on the Mac App store). I suppose I could have used iTunes duplicate finder too, but I prefer the flexibility of Dupin.
    2. Once you have identified your duplicates, find them in iTunes. In my case Dupin identifed 50, from 19,000+ tracks, so for me it was not a large number to check manually.
    3. When you find the duplicates, if one of them has the aforementioned dotted line iCloud icon, this is the one you need to delete. If you accidently delete the other version, you can always download it again if you have purchased it from iTunes. In any case, it seems to be the tracks with this icon that it is causing iTunes Match to stall, so you will need to delete all of these.
    4. Once you have completed step 3, iTunes Match should not proceed and complete.

  • Why is it taking so long to back up on my external hard drive?

I have a WD 1TB 3.0 USB external hard drive & im transfering 200GB of data.
Why is it taking so long to back up all my data onto my exernal hard drive using time machine?
I turn it on every day for about 12 hours to backup.
I think it will take about 4-5 days to complete, is this normal?

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message. Clear the text field and scroll back in the log to that time. Post the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Some personal information, such as the names of your files, may be included — edit that out, too, but don’t remove the context.

To help us better understand the problem,
    1) Could you post your execution plan on the two different databases?
    2) Could you list indexes (if any, on these tables)?
    3) Are any of the objects in the 'from list' a view?
If so, are you using a user defined function to create the view?
    4) Why are you using the table 'cal_instance_relationship' twice in the 'from ' clause'?
    5) Can't your query be the following?
    SELECT f.person_id, f.course_cd, cv.responsible_org_unit_cd cowner, f.fee_cal_type Sem, f.fee_ci_sequence_number seq_no,
    sua.unit_cd, uv.owner_org_unit_cd uowner, uv.supervised_contact_hours hours, 0 chg_rate, sum(f.transaction_amount) tot_fee,
