TS4062 How do I change sync computer for iPhone from old pc to new iMac?

Bought new iMac, and want to sync iphone to new system.  How do i change setting?  Keeps saying waiting to sync with old / now gone system.

You need to move the iTunes library from the old PC to the Mac.

How can I change my e-mail address on my iphone to a new internet provider that I just got.  I already went to appleid.apple.com, and then changed to new e-mail there, but for some reason when I pressed the save button, it seemed like it wouldn't want to save.

  • How do I transfer my Quicken 2004 data from old MacBook to new Imac with Mountain Lion

I want to transfer my Quicken 2004 (upgraded to 2006) data from MacBook running OSX 10.5.8 to new Imac running Mountain Lion with Quicken 2007 Lion.  How do I do this?  I thought from what I've read on line that all I needed to do was upgrade the quicken to 2006 and then the data would be readable by Quicken 2007 Lion.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

OK: This information is VERY helpful!  Note my comments below:

Here is what I'm doing step by step:
Open Quicken 2006 (it did automatically convert the Quicken 2004 data) -- GOOD!
    Do not do these steps
    I went to File> Export> All
Named the file "Copy of Quicken Data.qif" and saved it to the desktop of my MacBook.
At this point if I send the file as is it would not open on the other end saying that Power PC apps are not supported.
I discovered that if I  go to File> Get Info in the Finder window before I send it and change the setting "Open with" from "Preview" to "Quicken 2006", that the file would be recognized by the new computer.
Compress the converted Quicken 2006 data file by Control-Clicking on the converted Quicken 2006 data file and it should save with a .zip extension.
Send the automatically converted and compressed Quicken 2006 data file with the zip extension I send it to myself via email as an attachment, I save the attachment to the desktop of the Imac.  Uncompress it by double-clicking it.
    I open Quicken 2007 Lion
Go to File>Open File... Import>From QIF
Select the converted and uncompressed Quicken 2006 data file attachment that you saved to the desktop of the iMac and then uncompressed. "Copy of Quicken Data.qif"
It begins to download, then I get a warning
"Quicken is unable to import "Copy of Quicken Data.qif" becasue the transaction displayed below is too large...  it goes on to say that there is possibly too much text in the split line detail etc.
It should open in Quicken 2007 for Lion/Mt. Lion
Thanks for your time, any insights would be much appreciated.

  • A way to change sync computer for Iphone with out loosing everything?

Need to switch my main computer. Will I loose everything if I do so? Any way to avoid this?

Only iTunes content on your iPhone will or should be erased but won't be erased on your iPhone if you transfer your iTunes library from your existing computer to the new or different computer per the instructions included with this link along with authorizing the new or different computer with your iTunes account with iTunes.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
Photos transferred from the existing computer will be erased from your iPhone only if you select Sync Photos under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes on the new or different computer.
Photos and/or videos in the Camera Roll are not included or touched turning the iTunes sync process but a good idea to import this data with the computer before syncing as with any other digital camera.
No other data on your iPhone should be touched such as contacts especially if you don't have sync contacts with a supported address book application on your computer which is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences.

How can I change my computer's language from English to Spanish? My computer is an iMac G3 (CRT) and it has Mac OS 9 installed.

This isn't possible in Mac OS 9.2.2 and earlier without doing a full installation of the Spanish version of the OS, which requires an installation disk containing it.

How do you change your thumbprint for the iphone 5s?

Go to Settings > General > Touch ID & Passcode, enter your passcode, then Turn Passcode Off will delete all current fingerprints. You can then turn passcode back on and enter fingerprints.
Rather than deleting, you can also add the same fingerprint a second time via "Add a fingerprint" in Settings > General > Touch ID & Passcode, enter your passcode, then Touch ID.

  • How do I change which computer my iPhone is synced with?

I brought my iPhone awhile ago and synced it with my desktop. Now that I just brough a MacBook Pro I want to sync my iPhone with my laptop instead. Everytime I try too it tells me it is synced with my other computer and if I continue I will lose all my music. I don't want to do this - but I don't know how else to swap them over. Can somebody please help me? Thank you

    Hello AmandaNZ
Syncing between your iPhone and your computer is something that is paired between the two. Once you try to introduce a new computer into the mix it wants to forget what media is synced between them, like music, movies and other purchased content from your iPhone so you would need to go through that process of it removing the purchased content then re-sync it. You can transfer the purchased content and then re sync the data to get it back on there. Alternatively you can manually manage the content as well or make a back up and then restore the back up to your iPhone using the laptop.

  • Changing sync computer with iphone

Have an 'old' iPhone, but just bought a new computer. Transferred all the relevant files to the new computer, and passed the old one off to my wife. I've just bought a new app for my iPhone and tried to connect to the new computer. iTunes doesn't 'see' the iPhone (iPhoto keeps opening up). I've got no music on my iPhone but lots of apps. How do I change the sync computer without losing all the apps on my iPhone?

YOU'LL SEE AN IPHONE ICON MORE THAN LIKELY. CLICK ON IT AND BACK UP YOUR PHONE THEN CLICK RESTORE FROM BACKUP. THAT SHOULD DO IT!

  • How to transer mboxes I set up from old G4 to new iMac?  Help!

To organize my email, I had set up mailboxes for each client and stored messages there. I got a new iMac. I want to transfer these boxes from my G4. I copied an mbox and sent it as an attachment by email to new computer. I put it on desktop. But when I try to import, it says "No valid mail for OS X were found." The G4 is running 10.3.9. So I am not sure what to do. I tried just manually placing it in the mailbox in library but that did not work either. Any ideas?

Please, describe more accurately what it is exactly that you’re trying to do. In particular, what do you mean by “an mbox”? Are you trying to import a standard mbox file, or an .mbox folder (i.e. a Mail 1.x mailbox, which appears as a file in Mac OS X 10.3, but is something entirely different)?
Also, pay attention to the instructions that Mail displays when choosing Mail for Mac OS X as the data format. In the next step, Mail wants you to select the folder that contains the mailboxes to be imported (i.e. the folder where the .mbox folders to be imported reside), not the .mbox folders themselves. If you select the wrong folder, Mail says “No valid Mail for Mac OS X files were found” because it cannot find any .mbox folders within the folder you’re selecting.
And if what you’re trying to import is a standard mbox file (e.g. the mbox file within the .mbox package where Mail 1.x stores the actual messages), you must choose Other as the data format, not Mail for Mac OS X.

  • How can I transfer itunes library from old pc to new imac?

I just got a new iMac and am trying to transfer iTunes library from old PC (barely running) to new iMac.  I tried through Home Sharing but couldn't find how to sync.  Is it necessary to get Firewire?  Or should I sync it from my iPad?  I'd like to avoid the middleman.  Thanks!

  • How do I get my emails from old PC to new iMac?

I ran Outlook 2000 on my PC. I have a pretty new iMac (intel chip running Tiger). I use the Apple Mail program now. How do I easily get all my old emails from the PC to my iMac?

There is a great way to transfer all your PC outlook emails.
    Free download: O2M (Outlook2Mac)
Google it and you will find it.
It compresses your PC emails/folders etc into an .mbox file.
Then you take that .mbox file and import it into Mail.app on your Mac.
Good luck and may the force be with you...
Have a good day and take good care of yourself and your Mac.
By taking good care of your Mac, I mean don't install Leopard until 10.5.1 LOL LOL LOL... no its ok...
