I'm trying to sync my ipad over wifi, with my MAC, I have the updated software on my MAC, the ipad is up to dat 6.1.2. I can follow all of the steps, but I can't find a SUMMARY button on the toolbar, nor do I receive the option to sync. What am I doing wrong or what should I look for? Thank You

To sync your iPad over Wifi:
First ensure you're running iTunes 11.0.2. And you already have your iPad up to date, good.
Plug your iPad into the Mac via USB. Click your iPad in the top toolbar (under the search bar). Click the Summary tab if it isn't already selected. Check the box to "Sync with this iPad over Wi-Fi" (you may have to scroll down to see it). And now click the Apply button at the bottom right.
You should be able to unplug your iPad from the Mac and it should still remain in iTunes. (If not, try Quitting and relaunching iTunes and waiting, restarting iPad, etc).
To initiate a sync over Wifi, click your iPad in the toolbar in iTunes then click Sync. Or on your iPad, go to Settings > General > iTunes Wifi Sync and tap "Sync Now."

You don't want to do that by copying.
Your best bet, by far, is to use Setup Assistant. If your Mac is running Snow Leopard, see Using Setup Assistant on Snow Leopard or Leopard.
If it came with Lion, it's a bit different: Using Setup Assistant on Lion

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

It should only give you a warning, but let you do it if you want to. If you can't do it on ATV you can rent it though iTunes and then check for available content on ATV and view it that way.

I don't have the option of installing a clean copy of Snow Leopard

I'm new to Mac and have been exploring different programs that would fulfill the same functions as the programs I had been using on Vista. Unfortunately, my computer got a little wonky somewhere along the way and I want to remedy it by erasing the hard drive and installing a clean copy of Snow Leopard. I've looked in my owner's manual as well as several websites online. They all tell me to select something either from a tab or an Options menu but there isn't one. When I reach the Select Destination window, I have the option to customize what is installed (i.e. Quicktime, Rosetta, etc.), go back and continue. Is it not possible or something???

it's possible but there is likely no need to do this. what exactly is wrong with your computer? a simple reinstall of snow leopard on top of your current system will cure many ills and will preserve your data and applications. and many problems can be solved without reinstalling at all.
but if you insist on doing a wipe and install boot from the SL install DVD and start disk utility from utilities menu at the top. erase your hard drive using the erase tab in disk utility. then quit disk utility and proceed with the install. and if you do reinstall I suggest you back up your data first. otherwise it will be completely wiped when you erase your hard drive. and you should always back up anyway.

     I am in trouble now. Once I plugged in my headset, I used to have the option to choose what device I plugged in (eg. headset, headphone, mic-in). However, I misclicked on the buttom of "never ask me again" today. I want skype asks me everytime when I plug in my device. Is there any way to set it back?

I have the same problem. Running Win 8 64Bit, updated to latest ITunes and now will not recognize phone or pad. Followed all advice from Apple (uninstall/restart/re-install, all in exact order) ... nothing. Spoke with Apple tech and walked through the whole process, but no resolution. Thanks for the link. It didn't work at first on any of the devices but then I decided to enter a manual DNS instead of an automatic configuration. Then followed the steps again from your link and it worked.
It is not stable though as I need to reset the device for it to see the airplay. But when it is connected it stays connected for 30 minutes approx.
Any other suggestions to keep it stable would be fantastic but at least in the meantime I have a workaround.
