  • TS4062 my ipod touch shows it is connected to internet, but says it can't connect to the server.  Help!

My ipod touch shows it's connected to the internet, but says it can't connect to the server.  How can I fix?

The machine is booting up so I wouldn't worry about the PRAM battery.  I set my time off of the internet, since my pram battery is dead & I do not feel like changing it.  click on time to get this panel.
The imac I have has 1.25GHz and I am assuming has an airport card because the Internet worked on it when I tested it out before I bought it.
To sort things out, I'd connect the machine via an ethernet cable to you router. Thus, if it works well via a cable you will have narrowed the problem down to the wifi card.
My wireless is on WPA/WPA2. How do I get the Internet to start working?
You sure the machine is connecting to your router not a neighbors?  Set router to now encryption & see how things work.  Just for testing.

Just let me know if you know how to fix this!!! I am in desperate help right now. It's been a month and still can't use it plus we are going out of town and was wanting to take it with us to use.

If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

  • IPod Touch shows plug into iTunes

iPod Touch shows plug into iTunes.  I did this, it took 2 hrs. to update then tells me it doesn't see the device to Restore.  I see the iPod icon in the left column under devices.

What fixes many problems in programs is to uninstall and reinstall. If you lose all your apps and music, and the problem is not fixed, I give you the right to curse as loud as you want.

  • Why does my ipod touch show up as a camera?

Hello. I upgraded to windows 7 about three weeks ago and I didn't have a single problem with my ipod touch. Yesterday a friend of mine signed into his account on my itunes to download some music. Today, I plugged my ipod touch into my laptop and it shows up as a camera and would not show up in itunes. I have searched forums the web over and I have done the following: Uninstall/IInstall itunes. Restart my computer. Reset the ipod. Restart the ipod. Restart the computer and reset the ipod. I uninstalled all apple software from itunes, to the updater, bonjure, and quicktime. Restarted the computer. I have went into and changed the settings for the device so it is supposed to ask me what it will show up when the autoplay pops up. NOTHING is working. I use my ipod all day and everywhere I go. If any one at all can help with a solution that doesn't involve simple uninstall/reinstall/restart, I would appreciate the help. I don't understand why this happended. I signed back into my itunes account as well after reinstalling everything. I am at a total loss. Thank you

It is normal and expected for an iPod to show up as a camera as well as in iTunes.  Try here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

  • My new ipod touch shows up as a cannon camera.

My new ipod touch shows up as a cannon camera. I cannot upload itunes to it if my windows xp cannot identify.
Every thing was working with ipod shuffle.
Help resolve and use new ipod touch please!

this usually means you either have a screenshot or a saved photo, go to the photos app and make sure that there isn't a section that is titled "Saved Photos" or "Camera Roll" if there is delete the photos from this section by clicking the picture, click it when the photo goes full screen and a menu option should pop up, push the icon that looks like a trash can and press "delete photo". Now the ipod should not show as a camera in windows

  • My ipod touch shows up as a camera on my pc and wont show up at all on itunes

my ipod touch shows up as a camera on my pc and wont show up at all on itunes

    Hi
I was having the same problem for ages. I followed a apple advice section telling me to check the processes for apple mobile device manager, and check for the applusb.sys driver, and they were both there and working. I would advise you to do this. If they are not showing, then the article says to re-install itunes. here is the article by the way. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1852
However this did not fix my problem. So I decided to try re-installing the actual driver, instead of the whole of itunes. Try this, as it worked for me
(I don't no how good with computers you are, so I'll put simple steps, sorry if it seems patronising!)
    1) Go to start, and Run
    2) Type "devmgmt.msc" without speech marks
    3) A screen with your computers name at the top, with seperate sections for things like keyboards and moniters should have come up. At the bottom you should see Universal serial bus (usb). Expand it and look for apple ipod, or somthing similar (there's prob only be one by apple) If it's not there make sure your ipod is plugged in!
    4) Right click and go to properties
    5) Click the 'Driver' tab
    6) You should see 'Roll back changes' as an option. Click that and accept/press yes to the prompts that pop up.
    7) Wait for a few seconds (may take a min or two) until your back to the previous screen described in step 3
    8) Now Under 'portable devices', apple ipod should be listed. Right click that, and choose 'Update driver software' Choose to automatically search.
    9) Again wait, and when it's complete Apple iPod should show under universal seriel bus (usb) section again.
    10) Exit out of device manager, and open up itunes. Your ipod should now be there. You may need to un plug it and plug it in.
What this effectivly does is re-install the device used to search for iPods by itunes. For some reason, mine and probably yours ran into problems.
Hope you found this helpful, and I'll check back later if you have any problems or questions.
    Andy

I am running Windows 8. Although my contacts and notes from my Ipod touch  show up on icloud my calendar entries do not show up even though they do show up in my Google calendar and my windows phone calendar. Any suggestions not already covered in trouble shooting articles?

As I mentioned earlier, you have to decide which calendar you want to use.  You can either use Google or iCloud, but not both.
If you want to use your iCloud calendar, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Calendar section) and set this to your iCloud calendar.  After doing so, all new events you add to your calendar will be added by default to your iCloud calendar, and as a result, will appear on icloud.com and your computer (if it is syncing calendars with your iCloud account).
If, on the other hand, you want to use your Google calendar (as it sounds like you are doing with your iPod), simply add the same Google calendar to your phone and your computer.

  • Ipod Touch shows more "music" after sync than is on Ipod

    Hi,
I received an Ipod Touch for Christmas last year, it's been updated to iOS 5.0.1 but no farther. Since December, the Ipod is showing that I have (currently) 1.4G more music tracks than are really there, but only after I hit the "Sync" button in Itunes. The "Music" bar goes from 47.6G to 49G, and usually will not drop back down after the sync is over, and the amount of "lost" data has increased over time. The Ipod itself says I have 47.6G of music on the device, not 49G. I manually drag and drop my tracks, I do not use automatic sync.Today I right clicked on the Ipod through Itunes, hit "Backup", and after doing the back up it showed 1.4G missing from the Ipod. Could the backup be corrupted?
I can't figure out where this "ghost" data is going. I have downloaded podcasts directly onto the Ipod, I have cancelled syncs due to the "greying out" of tracks, I have deleted tracks off the Ipod through the Ipod - I don't know if any or all of that is cauing the problem.
I hesitate to do a "restore from backup" as all the "music" on the Ipod are audiobooks, which I keep in the "Music" section of the firmware. I have read that the restore *may* return all my tracks to the Ipod, or it *may not*. As it's a 64G Ipod, that's a lot of audiobooks I will have to find on backup and reformat if the tracks don't return. Also, as I have no idea WHY it's happening, I have no idea how to prevent it from happeneing again. The idea of having to do a biannual reformatting of the Ipod to reclaim lost gig fills me with distaste.
I have not called Apple as I have no idea if I used my free call or not, I don't have "Apple Care", and I haven't taken it to the "Genius Bar". I just thought maybe someone here has had a similar issue or maybe knows what's going on with the Ipod.
    Thanks for your time!

the laptop is about 6 years old and runs a wobbly windows XP pro on 1,5 GB RAM (transfer speed is 0,5 GB/hr, not really an option) and the main PC runs Vista 64 4GB RAM.
Same version of the same antivirus program, both are set to scan ipod only on demand. Exchange of drive letter did not make any difference.
Neither port change or exchange of cable did make any difference until the latest itunes update everything worked fine (no other updates made around that time).
After a complete deinstall and reinstall of an older version of iTunes - no change.
Complete format of ipod and "let itunes find ipod to restore" - no change.
Checked all involved drives and media - no errors - no change.
Restore Pod on laptop and move over to main PC - no change.
I'm getting rather frustrated as I simply cannot figure out what is the problem.
The most bugging part is I use mostly audiobooks (audible format) so Songbird is not an option either as very few other programs have aa/aax plugins (which is the only reason I'm using iTunes). Last time I used the pod, I simply wanted to sync the library, no errors, no hiccups, eject and ... no audiobooks, no music, but 111 GB of other.

  • My iPod Touch shows USB and arrow pointing to iTunes

It's a newer generation that I bought a while back, but i tried to system restore so my little brother couldn't access my vital applications that i had installed previously.
Whilst plugged in, it said that a system update and iTunes update was required. However, neither fully finished. Instead, the iPod touch shows the generic USB cord with an arrow pointing toward the iTunes symbol.
Is there anything that i can do without having to pay for it to be fixed???

First get the latest version (10.6.3 ) of iTunes to install on your computer. See the following if necessary:
Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows
The connect the iPod and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in DFU mode and restore if necessary.

I've found an easier way, just go to settings>general>usage>music. Then swipe it and press delete, i think this deletes the database described above, then re-sync, this worked for me anyway. Good luck, you need it with Apple software.
I don't have a large library of music on my iPhone 4s since I've only had it since Oct 2012, but since the update to iTunes 11 in early December, my album artwork has been all messed up.  Everytime I would try to add new music, it would assign the wrong album artwork to anything new coming in.  And in addition to that, it would also mess up album artwork of music already on my phone.  Everything looked correct in iTunes, but on my phone, not so much.  After trying to unsynch, then synching again, my frustration level was at an all-time high. This problem seems to be everywhere online, but no concrete solution for everyone.
I finally came across your simple solution (at least for me because of my small inventory of music) of just deleting all the music through the settings, and then re-synching to add back my music.  Now all of the album artwork is correct again.  I'm almost afraid to add new music for fear the artwork will get mixed up all over again! I still think my issue is somehow connected to the iTunes 11 update because up until then I had no issues whatsoever. Anyway, thanks for an easy solution that worked for me.
