TS4062 the pairing record is missing

I cannot sync my Ipod because I get the message" the pairing record is missing

If you run into this just click the "x" to the right of the t bar where the syncing info is displayed and let the sync stop.
Once the iPad is sync to iTunes never use "eject" because al that does is dismount the iPad from iTunes.
Once you click the x to stop the sync you can make your changes and then in the bottom right corner click sync to start the sync again.
If your low on space on the iPad, you can keep all your data on your computer and just sync what you want to the iPad and move that around as needed before you sync.

  • TS3212 iTunes can't connect with iPhone because the pairing record is missing

I have been having a lot of trouble with iTunes on Windows XP. I have had to completely uninstall iTunes, QuickTime, iPod, Apple Mobile Support, Apple Application Support, etc. and reinstall iTunes several times just to get to this point: now when I connect my iPhone using USB, I get the error message:
'iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "John L. Mohammed"  because the pairing record is missing.'
What is this about? What can I do about it?
It should be noted that the latest attempt to install iTunes does not seem to have installed QuickTime, though it does not complain about missing software.

Try disconnecting your phone from your computer, quit iTunes, connect you phone to your computer again, the re-launch iTunes.

On your iPad and iPod touch tap Settings > Store
Make sure Music is switched On under Automatic Downloads.
Now restart your iPad and your iPod touch.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

  • ITune's is telling the pairing record is missing and it can't connect to my ipod, what should I do?

I've got an ipod touch.. and i just bought a bunch of new songs and my ipod prompted me to set up my ipod so that it would automatically sync the new songs through wifi. I hadn't a clue what it was talking about so I hooked it up to my computer to sync it and itunes came up with an error saying that it was unable to connect to my ipod due to the fact that it couldn't find it's pairing record. Any idea's as to what I should do?
    Ps. It's for windows 7.

You need to buy and install a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, and then run the 10.6.8 combo updater.

  • ITunes could not connect to the iPad "iPad" because the pairing record is missing.

what does this mean and how do I fix it?

I unplugged the iPad, and realized it was no longer bricked (didn't mention that but the failed 5.0 update bricked it, hence the restore attempt). Once unplugged, it was in setup mode for iOS5.0. I went ahead and humored the process, and it prompted if I wanted to restore once setup. We'll see how it goes, but right now it's going through the "Restoring iPad from backup".

  • Whenever I plug in my iPhone 5 into my Windows 7 PC, I keep getting the error "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because the pairing record is missing."  The other things I've read are pretty old and are written for iPods, not iPhones.

    Any ideas?

I had this same problem with my new MBP 15", but only with the USB port on the left side. The USB port on the right side worked fine. Perhaps the ports on the left don't have enough signal energy for the iPhone.
Anyway, try using a different USB port, and if that doesn't work, perhaps you could try a powered USB hub.

  • Brand new iPod touch, only synced once. Now showing the pairing record missing notification. Not recognised by iTunes OR computer. Have tried literally everything including reinstalling iTunes, rebooting, etc. Please help.

As I've said, brand new iPod touch. I only synced it Friday night, put some music on it. This morning tried to connect to iTunes and got a message saying the pairing record was missing? Computer isn't recognising it either, but it charges off the computer just fine. Have tried everything including changing USB port, rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes twice, literally everything I've found on forums. Anyone help me out here? I'm so annoyed I could nearly cry.

Anyone able to help with this?

  • Why am I getting error msg: Pairing Record is Missing?

I have been syncing my iPhone with my Win7 PC for several weeks now, but I am suddenly getting the error message: "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because the pairing record is missing".  What does this mean, and why has it occurred?  I've rebooted both my PC and the iPhone several times, with no luck.  Just a few hours ago I successfully synced, and nothing's been changed on either device, but now I cannot sync.  Thank you.

    Do this:
Unplug your iPhone from your computer
    Tap on the iTunes app
    Scroll down to the bottom
    Tap on your AppleID
    Sign out
    Sign back in
Plug your iPhone back into your computer
Your iPhone should now be recognized by iTunes.

  • IPod won't connect to iTunes - pairing record is missing...

I get this iTunes message when connecting my first iPod, a brand new iPod touch to my mac:
"iTunes could not connect to iPod "iPod" because the pairing record is missing."
What does that mean? (Can this have something to do with other iPods that have been connected to my iTunes earlier?)
I followed the instructions Apple had to offer and reset the iPod etc.
    <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60950>
I reinstalled iTunes 7.6 from my admin user. Then the iPod was recognized on this account with empty iTunes. Registered the iPod und updated software to 1.1.3. Restarted back into my regular user. Still same message, except now iPod "ihPod"... Now, where is that pairing record?

Yes, I restarted the machine after reinstalling iTunes 7.6, but that did not help.
Today I reinstalled again, this time from my users acount and that did the trick. I still don't know what or where the pairing record is. But installing iTunes on the spesific users account fixes it, it seems.

  • IPhone 5 Restore: 'Pairing record is missing' error

    Hello,
I backed up my iPhone 5 this morning as I was getting it replaced due to Scuffgate, I linked my new phone with iTunes and it seemed everything was fine until and error message appears reading: "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because the pairing record is missing"
My phone then disappears on iTunes, however on inspection of my phone it seems it worked. I was wondering is this an error due to the phone being different from the one I backed up? If so is this normal and nothing to worry about?
I would test if it restores with a new back up file however it would mean putting in all the passwords again etc anyone else had this issue/experience?

    Try rebooting your computer.

  • ITunes could not connect to the iPhone "iPhone" because the pairing record

I just bought an iPod, and at home it fails to work and sync up on my Mac G5, OS X 10.4.11
I get the red stop sign with an exclamation point come up with this statement of error:
"iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "iPhone" because the pairing record is missing."
I had that error a number of times, rebooted the iPhone, then now I consistently get this error:
iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "iPhone" because an unknown error occurred (0xE80000001)."
Does anybody have any clue what I might do? And yes, it is iTunes 8 that I have running.

Try disconnecting your phone from your computer, quit iTunes, connect you phone to your computer again, the re-launch iTunes.
