TS4062 when i connect my new ipad to my computer and open itunes - it's telling me that the device can not open IPAD because it needs Itunes version 10.5 - but i can't seem to find out or download the newest version of itunes on my ipad. Any ideas?

10.5 is NOT software for your ipad. It is the itunes software for your computer.

I purchased an external CD drive for my MacBook,the internaldrive had died. When I tried using the new drive I got the following msg "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The device is not accessable, probably because it was removed" I contacted OWC and tried to work the issue with them, we gave up and OWC sent me a replacement. Try resetting the SMC and PRAM first, if that doesn't help try a cleaning disc.....and then buy an inexpensive external burner. Slimline super drive failures are all too common.
To reset the SMC
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys. -
I have recently upgraded from my iphone 5 to a new phone. My iphone 5 's touch screen does not work anymore. I need to backup my phone, but I can't do it on itunes without my password. Everything besides the screen is completely fine-the screen will not recognize my finger anymore. I am not trying to fix the phone, but I need to have my contacts. The pictures have already synced, but I need my password to do a full backup. Unfortunately, I can't type in my password. Is there any way around it? If I take my phone to the apple store, will they be able to help me? I am not willing to replace the screen just to do this, however, so that is out of the question.
Someone else may have a workaround, but, as far as I know, if you cannot interact with the screen on the iPhone, there is no way to unlock it so you can get to your contacts.
Were you saving them to iCloud by chance? If so, you can restore them to your new phone.

I can not download 19 songs that I recently purchased on my laptop. I am getting the message that my Nano is not an authorized device. Even though I have had it for years and it has many songs downloaded from my laptop. I even decided to do the restore and it is still saying that the 19 songs can not be downloaded to my nano. I did recently upgrade my window's 7 version. Maybe this has created the problem.
Yes, the upgrade is the likely cause.
First you should try to deauthorize your computer/iTunes library before attempting to authorize it again. To do this, click the Store drop down menu in iTunes and choose Deauthorize this Computer. Then enter in your iTunes account credentials.
When it has finished, choose Store -> Authorize this Computer and again enter in your Apple ID account credentials.
Finally, try resyncing your Nano to see if that makes a difference.

Some clot got my wfe an iphone for her 70th birthday. I have spent hours trying to sync it to my computer for emails. I get one message saying that my user name or password are incorrect and another saying that The POP account is already configured'. Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
My new iTunes account that I created for work keeps telling me that my email address is not yet verified. So I send a verification email to my main (another) email address, and then when I get a verification email to that address, it says that my email address is already verified.
You can resend the verification email by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address.

Itunes on my Mac says that my ipod can not be used because it needs to have iOS 6.3..
Itunes on my Mac Mini [Version 10.5.8] says that I can not use my iPod because it is not up to date and needs 10.6.3. My iPod says it is up to date with 6.0.1, same as iTunes. Help, please.

Something like XII or higher.
As for my Outlook, it's MS Outlook 2003, and I believe it's Express Outlook.
If I disable the Protected Mode, per your suggestion, maybe that will work.

I have been using Firefox for years with Hotmail as my e-mail provider with no trouble. Now I am getting messages that say some script is running; do I want to continue or cancel and then a brown message bar will appear asking me me manually allow the opening of Hotmail. A minor annoyance yet one I have not encountered until a few months ago and would like to fix.

Can not get a calandar in EVA website to book flights but I can in IE
The calendar to book flights does not show up in Firefox. It does show up in IE.
Those calendar icons are generated by JavaScript and only show if navigator.appName != "Netscape".<br />
So for IE (Microsoft Internet Explorer) they will show, but not for Firefox ("NetScape"), although they do seem to work if I set navigator.appName to Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Four days ago the lock screen and keyboard sounds quit working, but was able to reset the settings. Two days ago I had to do this and turn off the device and then restart it to get the sounds back. Today they suddenly went out and I can't get them working again. The settings are correct and the device is not muted. My OS is up to date. What else can I do to get the sound back?

I downloaded the lateest update and I can't turn off my apps like I did on 6os. The 7os is different and I can't seem to find out if apps turn off now by just closing them. Can anyone explain this to me? Please
