TS4083 Icloud email is not connecting to the server - how do I fix this
My iphone 5 will not connect to icloud and download new emails, how do I fix this?
It has been working for many years on a series of iPhones, and for several months on the iphone5. The same account is working perfectly on my ipad. On the iPhone it has reverted back to 26/4 last update and it has been working at dates later than that. It now try's to connect for some time and then gives me an error saying it couldn't connect to the server.
I have now set up another icloud account as a secondary and it is working fine.
I have also re-entered my password and it verified correctly, but still did not update the emails. I have turned off email on the account on the phone, rebooted the phone, turned it on and it still doesn't connect.
So I'm stuck.

Email still works, crappy IE still works. I downloaded the new 4.0 ran the standard install, clicked finish, and Firefox has not connected to the internet since. I've rebooted a couple of times.
Open System Preferences/Network
Select the Location you use at home
You may need to click the Padlock bottom left at this point if it's locked, enter the admin password to unlock
In the left hand column drag the Ethernet connection to the top of the list and remove any you don't use
Click the Advanced button bottom right
Click the TCP/IP Tab
Set Configure IPv4 to Using DHCP
Click OK bottom right and you should see the Router IP number appear and a unique but similar one for your Mac
Click Ok then click Apply and close the Panel -
A message saying "ethernet has a self assigned IP address and will not connect to the internet" comes up whenever I plug the cable in. Everyone's computers work except for mine work in the house and I have tried different cords and connecting sites.

first i would like to ask does this happen with all apps on the printer or just the one apps you used previously ?
Also i would suggest Resetting the router that the printer is connected to and Also Power cycle the printer,
In order you would go to the Printer and turn it off, and then turn the power of the router off,, wait about 15-20 seconds and then turn the Router back on, Wait for all the lights to come back on and then what you would want to do is turn the printer back on,, basically what this does is refresh the connection from the printer to the router itself

I have a ipad mini and i have had it for less then a year, it says that i have perfect wifi up in the left corner where the wifi is always at but when ever i go into the built in safari it says that it is unable to connect with the server. How can i fix this because with out it connecting to the server or internet it is kind of useless to me. I do have ios7 if that helps
The wifi symbol only indicates the presence/signal strength of wifi. Not that you are connected.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. ICloud email won't connect to the server
icloud email does not work on my iPhone. It worked for a day or two, but now I get an error message that says "cannot get mail, connection to the server failed." I have deleted the account and reinstalled it to no avail. Any suggestions?
Thank youSame here. I began getting the "cannot get mail ... Incorrect password" alert on both my iPhone 4s and iPad (3) about two days ago. Oddly, it will retrieve mail at random times, though yesterday it had not populated my phone for 22 hours, despite getting mail on my Mac. I've also noticed it no longer marks mail that ihas been read, consistently across all three.
On both the iPad and iPhone I've gone into mail settings, clicked on the account tab, but then done nothing, and then watched it get mail. Something is definitely amiss with iCloud at this point. -

I got my ipad for Christmas and my husband set it up before he gave it to me (on 12-22-12). Everything was working fine until around Christmas day, I haven't gotten an email since 4:00 on that day. He has checked all of the settings, they are fine. When I open my Mail, I see a refresh circle in the top left corner, then it will come up with an alert saying "cannot connect to server". All other apps work with our internet connection; Safari, Youtube, etc. We are new to the apple world.

I had to change my personal email address that was linked to my iTunes and iCloud. According to the information in my Apple ID, it is switched over. My phone, however, disagrees with me. I keep getting a pop-up asking me to sign into my iCloud account, but it has my previous email address Apple ID information displayed. When I look in my settings under iCloud, it still shows my old information and I cannot see any way to change it. Any ideas?
You need to check icloud on the phones setting you will see the old email there

I would suggest you try opening "Mail">click on "Mailboxes" in the Menu Bar> and select "Rebuild" from the list. That may solve it.

iCloud.com requires Safari 6 or later, Firefox 22 or later, or Google Chrome 28 or later. Have you tried all of those?
If you have, have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies?
For the first tine since 1989 I'm thinking about buying a PC.
You'd have exactly the same problems on an 8 year old PC too. It's a bit unreasonable to expect such an old Mac to continue to be compatible as software is constantly updated.
Saying that, I'm still able to access iCloud.com successfully in Safari v5.0.6 on a PowerPC Mac running Mac OS X 10.5.8, so the problem you're having is likely to be a browser issue, not something inherently wrong with the computer.
Since all this crap started, Mail won't download my Mac.com or me.com email.
The iCloud.com website is totally unconnected to Mail's ability to download email via IMAP. Have you checked the mail server settings are correctly setup and up-to-date? -
Since 29/10/2012 my iphone 4s and more recently my ipad 3 will not connect to the server when trying to access my email account. No. Everything was working fine and then it wasn't. I hadn't changed any settings or switched either one off. When the phone stopped working properly I ignored it because I always have my ipad with me but that just sopped working properly and now I am stuffed. I have tried most solutions suggested on here even wiping the ipad clean and re-booting. I did this exactly the same way as when I first got it but still no joy. The same with the phone.
