TS4085 iPad 2 mirroring audio streaming issues - TuneIn radio

I have an iPad 2 with Apple TV. Both are up to date. I am streaming TuneIn Radio audio over AirPlay (mirroring) through Apple TV to home stereo receiver, via Toslink optical audio cable. When I am using other iPad apps, the signal breaks up. (I do not have this problem when streaming from iPad 2 via bluetooth to wireless speakers.) What is the fix?

Album cover art is not showing on apple tv from Tunein app on Ipad.
Cover art is on ipad while streaming radio van Tunein.
Music is playable through apple tv.
Unfortunately the album cover art dos not appear on TV.
Any ideas?

Flash player 11.3.31.230 on google chrome: audio stream issues

Hi,
Just to let you know that i get an audio stream bug on google chrome with the latests 11.3.31.230 realease.
the received streamed audio in visio chat (i use Adobe LCCS to stream and receive it) is messy (echos etc).
When i disable this latests release, it works fine again.
with 11,3,300,271 realease
Funny thing is that:
if i receive the audio stream and get the bug on my website.
and if at the same time i open a new tab with youtube
the bug is fixed for my website, even if i close the youtube tab after that.
but whenever i try to close and reopen the audio stream again, the bug comes back.
I don't believe its a bug associated to my specific configuraiton, but its for every one.
i get the bug on other computers too.

I noticed the past two days that Solitaire Blitz game on Facebook and Jewel Quest game on Yahoo are flying now. I installed 11.4 a few days ago and still have protected mode disabled, but I didn't notice this change until Tuesday evening. The only thing different about my computer Tuesday is that I had disabled Java. (I received an email tip from Kim Komando saying Java has security flaws and should be disabled until they can be patched.) Could there be a conflict between Flash and Java, with Java causing Flash to be slightly slower? This isn't a real "problem" for me, as I thought both games were working fine prior to disabling Java; but I did notice they were even faster the last couple of days.

Ipad mirroring or streaming for quality

I now have two ways of streaming music and movies from my ipad and i phone.to my speakers and tv.
Both use appletv.
One is to connect using airplay and the other is to use mirroring.
Is there any difference in the quality of media when these methods are compared?

IPad 3 audio sync issue when video imported into CS5.5

Hi everyone, long time lurker here, love the support you guys are giving!
I'm hoping you'll be able to help with an audio sync problem I'm experiencing with videos recorded with the latest iPad 3 (well, that's what I'm calling it anyway).
I believe the iPad 3 recording format is 1080/30p with 44.1Khz / 16 bit audio, but when I match those settings on a Premiere Pro CS5.5 project (or try 48KHz audio as a test), the audio gradually goes out of sync. If the video is several minutes long, it becomes quite obvious, and by 10 minutes, it's terrible!
I should add the file plays back fine on the iPad itself and was imported to a Mac via iTunes. It also plays fine on the Mac itself in Quicktime.
Does anyone have any suggestions on project settings that'd work?
On a related note, I additionally captured the audio using a Zoom H2n which i intended to replace in Premiere, but foolishly I captured it at 48KHz, rather than the 44.1KHz of the iPad video file. Should I resample it?
I actually managed to line-up the 48 and 44.1KHz waveforms from the iPad and Zoom in Premiere quite accurately, but again both gradually go out of sync with the video...
I'm running Premiere Pro 5.5.2 on Mac OSX 10.7.3.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

To update my original post, I have found this problem happens about half the time.
Sometimes there's no issue and the audio is in sync when imported into Premiere, but at other times it's way off.
I did however find a workaround which has resolved the problem on my iPad3 videos which were out of sync and that was to first import the video clip into iMovie on the Mac first, then simply export it again using the 1080p option. The subsequent file is much larger (so there's been an annoying re-encode), but when imported into Premiere, the audio is at least now in sync.
I used this to fix the audio on a couple of the videos you can find on this page (all of which apart from the last one were filmed on the iPad3)

Since the video wasn't exactly critical to start with, I'm not too bothered by the re-encode.
Let me know if this fix works for anyone, and also if anyone comes up with a different solution.

Ipad - Apple TV streaming issues

I am having issues streaming from my Ipad and I can't have my wireless router in the same room as my Apple TV, any suggestions to solve this issue? would a repeater do the trick?

You shouldn't need the router in the same room. Repeaters tend not to work very well with the Apple TV.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

Synology DS410 to iPad 4 video streaming issues

As the title says, I have issues streaming from my Synology ds410 (with upgraded 1GB RAM) to iPad 4. Its kind of frustrating as I bought the iPad thinking I can do just this.
Setup and what I tried so far
All my movies are 1080p, sitting in the movie folder on the ds410
DSM is 4.1 and all software on both ds401 and other devices are the latest ones (no jailbarake)
The syndrom is that the movie playes for ca 10 sec, so stops for 2-3 and so starts again.. and so it goes..
Router is a Thompson TWG870 WIFI Modem, cant change this one as the ISP wont allow the usage of own routers.
On Ipad I have tried all the different video settings (quality, transcoding, remuxing) but no help. I have also tried GPlayer but it keeps crashing so no use.
Any ideas, suggestions?
Anyone else who have managed to get something similar workig?

PS: Plex player is not an option as it cant be instaled on the ds410

Apple's Http Live Streaming spoecifications mention that for live streaming, client will start playing from the 3rd last segment in the playlist. So the expected latency should be around 3 times the media file duration. Keeping the media file duration too low has its own implications like too many media sgement requests to server, thereby clogging the network.

AirPlay stop audio streaming closing iPad control app

Just bought AirPort Express.
Wifi connected to my NAS, used to stream music to my old stereo that is in another room using analogic audio out.
Opening iPad control app I can select and play music, but when I close the app (not leaving in background, closing down or shutting down iPad) the audio stream stop.
In the control app (DS Audio from Synology) I also can't select AirPort Express as player in settings, only iPad is listed. I can correctly select AirPort for AirPlay.
NAS firewall is configured to allow AirPlay, AirPort firmware is latest release, I use iPad 2 with iOS 6.01.
Any suggestion?

also i want to specify something............if am using loopback address,the sender and receiver(in this typical code,capture and receive files) ought to have diff. ports( i suppose as their ips are already same)
or am i wrong???
i have given same ports.......i had tried once with diff. ports........miraculously perhaps it worked (the sound was echoed through my headphone),....but next time when i tried i failed......and still failing........any suggestions please waiting eagerly

Artwork for Radio Audio Stream

I have a playlist of audio streams from internet radio stations, including NPR and Norwegian NRK P1. I would like to have artwork associated with these streams in the playlist, so that for example the artwork would show up on my iPhone Remote app. I can drag artwork over to the "Drag Album Artwork Here" section. However, this artwork will only work until I start the stream the next time round.
Is there any way to keep the artwork for these streams? Or is the artwork loaded as part of the stream from the URL and therefore reset every time?

This is something Apple should add to iTunes. It's really annoying to see the default album icon for streaming media.

TuneIn Radio broken on Safari 7

Since upgrading to Mavericks and Safari 7.0, I can no longer play any audio/radio station streams on TuneIn Radio (tune in.com).
I get a "sorry, an error occurred" prompt and then a text box saying No Playable Streams Were Found.
I have disabled most Safari Extensions and PlugIns with no change. I do,however, have the latest versions of Flip4Mac and Silverlight plugins installed, per the requirements at TuneIn.com. Content from this site worked OK on previous Safari versions and OS, and also still OK on iOS devices.
Email to TuneIn support has been useless. A reply to my first email asked me to tell them exactly the same information I provided in the initial email, and no further followup from them. Any suggestions?

"Allow Plug-Ins" was selected in Safari Prefs.
I tried this site in Google Chrome and, unlike Safari, it clearly informed me onscreen that my Silverlight Plug-In was not up-to- date. I had checked for this but obviously hadn't correctly found that bit of information.
Went to the Dark Side's site and got the updater.
TuneIn now working OK on Safari and Chrome.

Can't open audio stream

I have the URL for an online radio, I can open it in Quicktime, but not in iTunes... it appears in the library but it doesn't do anything when clicked:

Not sure if this is the same problem, but... I'm able to initiate an audio stream from the "Radio" in my iTunes options, but there's a lot of "rebuffering" going on. In the advanced tab, I've set buffering to large. This very rarely happened on my old G5, but on this new-to-me 2007 macbook, it's happening a lot more often. Any clues?

Tunein radio app unable to do bluetooth streaming

I installed the free tunein radio app from the app store and it works fine on its own. However, when I attempted to stream to a set of BT speakers the app goes silent. There is not a problem with the hardware as the Touchpad can stream other contents to the same set of speakers.
So I emailed tunein support and got a quite unsatisfactory response. Their response was that they are not responsible for "third-party" issues. I don't know what they meant by that, since it was their app developed specifically for the TouchPad, and I would think they would make sure that it works with the capability of that device.
I am a user of the paid tunein app under iOS and I do like the app but not able to stream BT is unfortunate.
Anyone have similar problems?

What App are you using to get the audio stream? Safari should work unless Flash is involved.
I have used the free NPR App to listen to radio stations, but I don't know if it works with TV stations.

Ipad audio stream stops

I've had the ipad (new) since April 2012. The problem arose not long after the purchase and doesn't seem to be getting any better, no surprise! The problem being, audio stream stops. Sometimes the stream can be restarted by nothing more than opening up the audio steam homepage, or sometimes starting a different audio file within the homepage and then click back to the original stream, all the way to turning the ipad off and restarting...and even this has mixed results. At times even using all of the aforementioned has mixed results with varying intervals lasting anywhere from 30 seconds to 15 minutes, then at times can last for hours. I've double checked the problem comparing simultaneously with my laptop and it appears the problem is ipad only. There are numerous online posts concerning this but haven't yet found a solution to the problem.

Nah, forget it; I just remembered what really used to happen (which still happens):
I used to open a new Safari window (not a new tab), open the radio stream in that new window, then switch to my previous Safari window with all my tabs. Then it works.
For some reason, I don't have to do this (i.e. open two different windows as opposed to two tabs) in Firefox.
I really like and prefer Safari to most browsers, but I have to admit, it's rather flaky in a number of ways. This is one of them.
