TS4088 MacBook video display so faint, it is almost not visible

My MacBook video display is so faint, it is almost not visible. I have turned it off and on, maximized the light settings, and still, it remains black. Ideas?

Please describe in detail all you have attempted to do in order to resolve the issue. Have you tried zapping the pram? If so, take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.

I have tried reseting to factory settings by removing battery and holding down the power switch for more than 5 sec but this does nothing.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I think with so much unwanted data on the desktop and other places the whole os will crash very soon.

The hard drive may be dying anyway, or the directory damaged because it is so full. You should never let the hard drive get over 85% full.
A -36 error is a read/write error.
All you did with the power is reset the SMC. Does nothing to reset everything to factory settings.
Do you have your original 10.4 installer discs for the MacBook?
Is your data backed up?

Do Controls/Indicators in all display tabs get updated even if not visible?

I have a pretty simple Labview VI that I need to run at a 10 ms loop. Currently, I can only get it to run at 17 ms. It has a RS422 that has to send and receive a message every 10 ms. I have a lot of troubleshooting indicators on a Debug Tab. I am wondering if these indicators are being updated even though they are not on the currently displayed tab. If so, will changing the "visible" property node of all these indicators speed up execution?

Do you happen to have synchronous display enabled? In most applications, having asynchronous display enabled significantly speed up execution without affecting what the user sees. For example, you can update a Boolean value hundreds of times in a second, which is more updates than the human eye can discern. Asynchronous displays permit the execution system to spend more time executing VIs, with updates automatically reduced to a slower rate by the user interface thread.
If you want asynchronous displays, right-click the control or indicator and select Advanced»Synchronous Display from the shortcut menu to uncheck the menu item.

Like crossrulz said, I also recommend using the Producer/consumer architecture. This way, you can process your data in one loop, pass the data via a queue, and update your indicators in a separate loop that does not affect the speed of your processing vi.

We are on EREC standalone model. Initial data transfer between HR to EREC master data using PFAL is done.
All employees have got NA, CP, US, BP in HRP 1001 in EREC system.
Change pointers are also activated in HCM system, now current master data changes are also in reflecting in EREC system thro IDOC posting.
But when recruiter logs into portal and does a candidate search, no internal candidates are appearing ?
1) What needs to be done for internal candidates to visible during candidate search ?
2) Also while logged as internal candidate, released requisitions are not visible for internal candidates while they try to search for internal job postings ?
Kindly provide your inputs.

Video from v1 is not visible

I'm perplexed. i finished my project and burned it to a dvd. everything went well. (by the way it was 5gb). that was about a week and 1/2 ago. i opened up the project file in dvdsp and for some reason the video portion on the v1 track is not visible. the menu plays fine. all the pictures come up fine. the music is fine, and when i simulate it everything works except i can not see the video. any suggestions?

The asset the constitutes the video was imported into DVD SP?
Was it a movie file or was it a m2v previously encoded file?
Locate it on your volume and see if it can be opened and played in the QT Pro player.
Reimport it, and place it on the track . . .

Mini DVI to S-video display problem

I connect my macbook to a plasma TV using mini DVI to S-video adapter so I can give keynote presentations. All of a sudden, having not changed any settings, the plasma display went to black & white while my macbook's display remains in color. I have checked with two different s-video cables and with another TV, as well as trying to change the color display in my system preferences, but after several hours have given up. Anyone else have this problem or have any thoughts on how to alleviate it? Thanks

A wire may have broken inside the mini DVI to S-video adapter. S-video uses one wire for the brightness, and one for the color information. If the color wire breaks you will get a black and white picture. Until Apple replaces the adapter, you could use the composite video output, but the picture will not be as sharp.

Premiere cc 2014 crash with message "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again."

I updated to Premiere Pro CC 2014, all the other Adobe CC 2014 software works great, but Premiere doesnt even load. The starting page (frame) comes up - my whole computer slows down and after a minute or two it crashes completely and comes up with the message : "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again."
I'm running a macbook Pro 15" (2014) with 16GB RAM and 760GB SSD.

Please go to the following location and rename the folder to old_folder name
User/user library/Application Support and rename Adobe folder
User/user library/Preferences and rename the Adobe folder
Then go to Documents folder and Go to Adobe/Premiere pro/8.0 and rename 8.0 folder
Make sure that you are in user library if you are not sure check the link below.

My non retina macbook pro mid 2012 will read the display its connected to but does not display anything at all

I have a macbook pro mid 2012 non retina display and i tried using an external display for it. I hooked it up and the screen blacked out and turned back on like normal and the computer itself was reading that the display was there. The only problem is that on the display itself there is no image of the macbook being displayed. im using a thunderbolt to vga connector and all the connection check out the only problem is the display. the display works on my other macbook that i have just fine i dont understand why it wouldnt work on this new one. Keep in mind i have had this computer for only 5 days.

TS4088 MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012): Intermittent black screen

My new MacBook Pro is running Mountain Lion and the screen suddenly goes black while I am working. It seems that the machine is running, but the screen just goes black and does not show the login box or anything else.
In order to get back to the login, I either have to restart it, or close the machine and open it again.
This seems to be the same problem reported for the MacBook Pro 2010-2011.

Any idea on what is going on??

I too have started having this problem. I am running OSX 10.9.4. Has anyone gotten any answers to why this may be happening? This issue just recently started. I can't say it was caused by any recent update.

MBA - Video display & resolution concerns

My parents currently own an aging, first-generation white MacBook. I want to help them migrate to a newer laptop, possibly a MacBook Air aka MBA), within the next several months.
I used to own a 15-inch MacBook Pro (2007 vintage, IIRC) but it died on me in March. I was forced to buy a refurbished late-2012 iMac because money was too tight to procure a new laptop. I may also be looking at an MBA within a year, possibly an 11-incher.
I have a few questions about the video display resolution of late-model MBAs:
According to Apple's "tech specs" page for the MBA, the 11-inch is capable of multiple video resolutions:
1366 by 768 (native), 1344 by 756, and 1280 by 720 pixels at 16:9 aspect ratio; 1152 by 720 and 1024 by 640 pixels at 16:10 aspect ratio; 1024 by 768 and 800 by 600 pixels at 4:3 aspect ratio
I am a little concerned that a laptop display of that size would be a bit hard to read at the standard resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. Has anyone dialed the MBA's resolution back to lesser levels, like 1,280 x 720? Does anyone leave it at these lower resolutions? Also: how hard is it to use word processors or iPhoto on an MBA, particularly the 11-incher?

My parents...possibly an 11-incher.
Not to say your folks are old at all,... however Im likely much younger than them and having owned an 11" and now a 13",.... I cant go back to the 11" (though I loved it fine and sill can use it just fine)
Very likely their eyeballs would be more happy with a 13"
base model price on a 13" vs. an 11" isnt that much

Macbook Retina Display - Creaks when opening programs

My macbook retina display creaks randomly only when programs open.
For example, when diablo opens, it makes a creaking sound just underneath the keyboard.
When a youtube video starts playing, it creaks.
When i open chrome or safari, it creaks.
It only creaks at the beginning when programs starts running.
Wierd.
anyone having this problem too?

I imagine it is not an expected issue, as my 2010 MBP worked just fine. Also, were the issue expected I would hope that it would be compensated for. I am typing this response on the Retina MBP and there is definitely lag or letters disappearing all togther. I am also typing this to get the screen shots of the activity monitor.

Also, when posting the pictures here in this message, the images seemed askew until I scrolled the screen a little. It would seem to me a video card issue but I am not a Mac genius so I am just guessing. I am using the default "best for retina" resolution setting.

Installed Premiere Pro CS4 but video display does not work?

I just got my copy of CS$. After installing Premiere I found two things that seem very wrong:
1) video display does not work, not even the little playback viewer next to improted film clips located on the project / sequence window. Audio works fine.
2) the UI is way too slow for my big beefy system.
My pc is a dual boot Vista-32 and XP system with 4GB of memory installed and nvidia geforce 280 graphics board with plenty of GPU power. The CS4 is installed on the Vista-32 partition. My windows XP partition on the same PC with Premiere CS2 works great and real fast.
Any ideas how to solve this CS4 install issue?

The problem is now very clear to me. The problem only shows up with video footage imported into PP CS4 encoded with "MS Video 1" codec. So this seems to be a bug. The codec is very clearly called out and supported within various menues but video with this codec just will not play in any monitor or preview window. In addition the entire product looks horrible with respect to performance while PP CS4 trys its best to play the video. Audio will start playing after about 30 seconds. And once in awhile part of video shows up at the wrong magnification before blanking out again.
My suggestion to the Adobe team: fix the bug and add some sample footage to the next release so new installations can test their systems with known footage.

MacBook 2nd display (mini-DVI-DVI (D)- VGA)?

I am trying to hook up a second display to my MacBook. The problem is that I don't have a mini-DVI to VGA adapter, but I have a mini-DVI to DVI, and a DVI to VGA adapters. So I connected my Apple mini-DVI to DVI, to my DVI to VGA, and then to my 2nd display (NEC LCD1560NX). The notebook's image flips as i normally connect a second display, it auto-detects the 2nd screen and displays its correct name, but I do not get an image on my second display. It set to the right resolution and frequency.
Any suggestions?

go to system preferences -> display-> and mirror the displays, it should work on the second display, but the cons on the macbook is to work on the first display, the built in card may not support the second one, if thats the case i'm sorry i can't help it. you can also try to get a DVI/VGA splitter and see if that work, it works on standard integrated intel VGA models. good luck!
