TS4107 I have to use the optical output to my receiver for my surround sound ( it does not decode HDMI). After updating the software on my Apple TV the optical no longer works. The HDMI to my TV works and provides sound to the measly TV speakers. WHY?

I updated my software as "recommended" and my optical output is not working anymore to my receiver and thus no surround sound. My HDMI to the TV still provides the picture and sound to the TV. My receiver only uses optical and was fine BEFORE the software was updated. How can I go back to the prior software or fix this? My Apple TV is the earlier 720P version. I have tried restarting on the Apple TV and then unplugging and reinserting all plugs to no avail. It provides no optical sound on Netflix, Youtube and other selections but does via HDMI only to the tinny TV speakers. ANY IDEAS?

GO to your Dolby Digital settings, and toggle the options.. Auto, On, Off. That worked for me, and a few other people.

Have you formatted it for Mac using Disk Utility?
If not, open Disk Utility (Applications>Utilities folder) and select the drive to the left. Make sure that you select "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" and then the erase button.
If you have already formatted the drive, call back...

Last night when i installed new software through connected by itunes the software installed but now just detailed below when i try to start give bellow options and than not working
1st, language. i select ENGLISH
2nd Country, i select PAKISTAN
3rd, wifi, i on wifi
4th, activateing your phone and in runing condition
''it may takes a few minutes to activate your phone'' after this option the error comes which is bellow
''TRY AGAIN
your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailabe. Try connecting your iphone t iTunes to activate it, or try again in couple of minutes''
so please kindly resolve this above given problem

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

At last i did some experiments and it solved my problem... heres the solution :
1. Install the reliance drivers and software from their website.
2. As the reliance software is not supported my mavericks it wont open, but dont worry.
3. Now after installation go to system preferences->network->and select "ZTE Wireless Terminal".
4. Configuration: Default
     Telephone number: #777
     Account name and password should be the owners number.
5.Finish ! press apply and click Connect...
   Enjoy browsing !!!

I don't know since I don't share anything. You'll have to peruse the help files and check the permissions and ACLs on the Shared folder. According to the permissions on the Shared folder everyone can R&W. If you want those to be inherited by everything dropped into the folder, add an ACL for
everyone allow read, write

I would check with the Auto dealer where the vehicle was purchased to check and see when the bluetooth software was last updated on your vehicle. With the vehicle being a 2011 and if the software has not been updated since the dropping of IOS 7 then obviously there will be software incompatibilities.

The wish list only works on apps you have to pay for. To get it tap the icon of the app you want to save. After it opens at the upper right corner is a box with a arrow. Tap that then tap add to wish list list in the box that opens.

I thought apple is user friendly. That is why I bought it. I do not have a use to download my boot camp assistant for a compatible to microsoft words, excel, powerpoint. They told me I have iWork's for all of this products but mine is not working.

I bought an apple product which is MacBook Air about 7 mths. ago . Anyway I would like to download a compatible words, excel, powerpoint. they told me that I do not need it since IWORKS is all I needed. I tried my keynote , numbers does not worked. I followed the tutorials for windows for mac, followed every instructions, hold and behold another problem. I have to have a usb, when I bought this at Best Buy, I asked them what do I need , they said that I do not need anything else because it is all in there. So to make a long story short. I am just so frustrated .
How can I download the windows for mac, I know I have to start in utilities , boot camp assistant, then the usb problem. Please I need help, it is much needed for my job. You can buy Microsoft Office for Mac, it includes Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Or you can download a free copy of LibreOffice which contains substitutes (good ones) for the Microsoft Office programs.
Do not even think of using Boot Camp unless you have a complete and current TM backup or a clone to restore if it goes wrong. You will also need to buy Windows and Microsoft Office for it. And you MUST read the directions very carefully.

iCloud will not sycn a calendar from an external source. In order to use iCloud to sync it, you would have to move it to iCloud and stop using Google. I know how to do that on a Mac, but I'm not sure how to do it on a PC. If you're using Outlook, I suspect you export it as an .ics file to your desktop, then import it to the iCloud account in Outlook. I'm sure you could use Google to find the specific steps.
However, there's really no reason not to just use Google to sync your calendar across your devices. Instead, just continue to use Goole calendar on all your devices and they should stay in sync. Take a look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0Jj0KFgbYI.

"The reply" as in the Rescue email to reset your Security Questions? If so, then you will have to contact iTunes Support directly to get them reset:

Update on my problem connecting in Itunes with my Airport Express. Not sure if anything I tried made a difference
but I finally got the Pop up window saying this device requires a Password. I entered the password and I can once again use the Airport Express as a remote speaker.
