TS4123 iTunes Update failed, windows 7, can no longer open iTunes
I tried to download and install the latest version of iTunes, via the automated notification I get and it failed. I can no longer open iTunes.
I get a Run Time Error.
Program: C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's supportteam for more information.
Any suggestions?

It sounds like you are getting this error message when installing iTunes 11.1.4 on your computer. This error message is mentioned in the following article:

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
Part of the troubleshooting does involve re installing iTunes again, but the article linked therein will show how to uninstall iTunes and its associated programs as well for a clean install.

Yes, except n°1 - empty Temp directory, I had tried/checked all of those.
I emptied the local temp folder tonight, but it still won't work.
Please note: the installation doesn't give me any problem. The program was working fine, until at one point *plouf* it stopped working. I can re-install it without any problem, it just crashes when opening.
\\edit\\ I seem to have located the problem, it's in the library files. If I re-install iTunes without my library, it works fine (though there is no music in it, yet). As soon as I import my library, or replace the My Music\iTunes folder with the old one, it stops working. -
Hi All, I have the latest version of iTunes, however since upgrading I can no longer get iTunes to recognise that any devices (iPhone / iPad) are connected? Can anyone help please. Paul
Try holding down CTRL as you launch iTunes to see if it will repair the drivers.

I have several very important school related documents on my iPad in the Pages app. Ever since i updated to iOS5, i can no longer open any documents in Pages that I made before I updated. Please help
Without the iPad connected, open up iTunes on your computer. Go to iTunes/Preferences/Devices and delete the backups that you're absolutely certain do not have the documents. Refer to figure below.
iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "NO" to creating a backup. (You don't want to create a new backup that does not have the docs.) You will then be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad. This time, say "yes."
Repeat all of the above as required until you get the docs. -
Since updating my iPad several weeks ago I can no longer open iTunes or view or read books on my bookshelf. I took my iPad to Apple at The Trafford Centre where I was advised to restore my pad. This I did using our imac and hopefully saved my software.. The restore did not work and now my pad will still not open iTunes and I no longer have my apps. What can I do to get my purchased books etc. back and open iTunes again?
Most of your purchases content can be downloaded again via the Purchased tabs in each of the store. I realize that this will be a problem for the iTunes Store on the iPad, but that has nothing to do with apps, since apps are in the App Store.
If you backed up synced with iTunes before you restored the iPad, your content should be in iTunes on your Mac and you should be able to sync it back again. -
Using PSE 10 on Windows. Can no longer open files in PSE 10?
Have used PSE 10 successfully for quite awhile. Can no longer open files in this program. Choose, "open file" in PSE 10 and nothing happens.

While installing the latest updates to iTunes, the istallation stopped and Windows sent me a Runtime error (R6034) and suggests that I contact the applications support team. A second message appears to tell me that I should reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error1114) Any suggestions?
I had the identical problem with Runtime Error R6034s starting this week (on 1/22/2014) when the latest iTunes update installed. Tried deleting and reinstalling iTunes several times, but that didn't work. Someone suggested deleting the update. I found the "Apple Application Support" (93.2MB) update installed on 1/22, deleted it, reinstalled iTunes, and now iTunes seems to work OK. I don't get the repeated Runtime Error R6034 and Error 7 message, have been able to access the store, and play my saved music OK. My only concern is that the update will reappear and cause a repeat problem.

Latest update failed to install and cannot now open iTunes at all.
I tried to install the latest update of iTunes on my laptop but it failed. I got both a 'runtime error' message and also an error message saying 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start.
I have tried uninstalling and resinstalling an earlier version but nothing is working so I am unable to back up my files and transer things between my iphone and my kids' ipod Touches.
I would really appreciate any ideas of what I can do as I need to get iTunes back on my laptop.

If you haven't already done these steps, this section contains information that might help your situation, as the order and manner which you uninstall has an effect on the outcome:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

I have recently bought a new laptop with windows 7 and when i have tried to install and open itunes i keep getting the message 'itunes has stopped working' itunes then shuts down before i can do anything to fix it. This happens every time I try to open itunes. I have tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling it, starting itunes in safe mode. Nothing seems to work. Please can anyone help.
If and when I finally manage to open it, as soon as I click on a movie to watch, the message "itunes has stopped working" comes up.

I have updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7. Since the update whenever I go to open iTunes on my iPhone it crashes. Can anybody help?

ITunes 9 with WIndows 7 - keeps trying to open iTunes
I have recently installed ITunes on my 64-bit Windows 7 PC. I have several users set-up as my family use it as the main PC. My son has recently bought an iPOD Touch.
today, my son has logged on and is running iTunes but I am also logged on.
On my account - I have not tried to open iTunes and it is not in my Start menu but it is trying to launch and I keep getting an error message saying that "You can not open the application "ITunes" because another user has it open."
Why doesn't iTunes support multiple users anyway?
Why does it try and load without me asking it to and how do I stop it?
AndyI have the exact same problem. I use a laptop with three user accounts. Two of the accounts have iTunes. However, to switch between users I MUST completely logout of one account else iTunes opens on the other account and I get the Windows failure sound (ding) every 2 minutes from the other account as iTunes tries to unsuccessfully open in that account.
This is really annoying and I have decided to stop buying iTunes songs until fixed because Windows Media Player doesn't do that. Unfortunately, I have invested a few bucks in some iTunes music that I guess will stay in storage until this is fixed. -
The update itunes software box comes up when I open itunes, I click to download, the box disappears and it never starts the download. Whats wrong?
You might not have enough space left on your hardrive.

We are trying to re-load iTunes onto my iPad in order that we can transfer selected music from laptop to my iPad......after re-setting iPad to factory settings we no longer have iTunes. Does anybody have any suggestions......T&C does not make provision for acceptance.

I had this problem about 2 months ago and Apple walked me through it. Now they cant find me case file and I can't remember what I did to fix and connect to itunes and my ipods and ipad...
Any suggestions?SO iTunes thinks you don't have Quicktime although you do have it.
This can be caused by a problem with the environmental variable path, although I don't normally associate this with the 2096 error.
There is normally an entry for Quicktime right at the end of PATH, and iTunes uses it.
However if any of the folders in path variable before Quicktime do not exist or cannot be reached, iTunes gives up and assumes you don't have Quicktime.
If you are and experience computer user this may be enough for you to investigate the problem.
If not I can give details.
AS a start you can look at the contents of the path variable by opening the cmd window. (type cmd into your run box).
Then copy&paste the following line into the cmd window and press return
echo %path%
This will display the contents of the PATH variable.
If you need detailed help post back. -
