TS4123 So what if the only Winsock Provider listed is the Bonjour Namespace Provider?

AppleMobileDeviceService.exe is constantly hogging one CPU on my machine. I've tried the Winsock command line reset (netsh winsock reset) and that seemed to work for awhile. Then the problem reappears.
I've tried stopping/starting or restarting the processes via the MS Services interface, and again, this resolves the issue temporarily. I've also, mostly out of frustration, stopped the process manually. Always comes back.
I've taken a look at Apple's suggestion (TS4123) which implies that their is some sort of conflict with another program. Back to my initial question:
So what if the only Winsock Provider listed is the Bonjour Namespace Provider?
Overall, at this point, I have to agree with the vast majority of users who are capable of both recognizing that this is a problem and troubleshooting it to this point: This is an Apple problem and it needs to be fixed by Apple, not passed off as a conflict from some other program that is "doing something wrong" in the eyes of Apple.
My next step is to continue troubleshooting on my own to come up with a workaround solution that doesn't require me resetting winsock or killing multiple processes every day in order to use a processor that shouldn't be taken hostage to begin with.
Has anyone out there explored the onset of this problem (I've seen iTunes 10.5) in relation to updating devices via WiFi network (also iTunes 10.5 feature add?).
I'm going to start by there and disable updating of all devices over WiFi to see if that prevents the CPU hogging. Hopefully that's not it, because that sure is a great feature.
As a Mac user since 1985 and a M$ programmer for more than a decade, this is an extremely disappointing problem and one that should be an easy fix considering the resources AAPL manages to accrue.

Further review indicates that two up to date (iOS 6.1.4, Build 10B350) as of 7pm CST 7/2/2013 still causing AppleMobileDeviceService.exe to peg one processor at 100%.
Going to turn off "Sync with this iPhone over WIFI" for both phones and see if that does it.
Shameful really.

What are the best settings to use for the newest AirPort Extreme (AC wifi) with my optimum online service provider?

I have the current generation of the AirPort Extreme and a handful of devices that utilize the new 5Ghz A/C frequency. My internet speeds were blazing fast when I had first set it up but lately it has been lagging terribly. I was told that changing my dhcp did help, which it did it seems like it might be back to its normal speeds but I just want to know what are the best settings to configure for the airport so that I can get the most out of my service on all my devices? I'm using a CAT 6 cable which does help, I have a guest wifi setup with a wifi password which I understand will slow it down a little. Can anyone just point me in the right direction or just give me a step by step guide on what settings to configure? Should I really consider turning off the guest network?

I am assuming that you are looking to configure your network to provide the highest level of bandwidth possible for your network clients. If that is the case, the following are a few things to consider:
The Internet modem should support Gigabit Ethernet. That is the Ethernet connection between the modem and your 802.11ac AirPort Extreme should be Gigabit Ethernet.
Use CAT-5e or CAT-6 Ethernet cables between all wired connections.
Only expect 802.11ac performance with 802.11ac clients in the same room as the base station.
Eliminate or significantly reduce any forms of Wi-Fi interference on both the 2.4 & 5 GHz bands.
When streaming, especially HD video on your local network, use wired connections between the host and player devices when possible.
Other than the above suggestions there are no "magic" settings that you can make on your AirPort. Note: The Guest network shares the same bandwidth as the "main" network. Unless you have a network goal to provide this type of network, it is best left disabled.

I've just purchased a new iMac for myslef and am gifting my "old" iMac to Niece. Original iMac has Snow Leopard upgrade (came with Leopard) as well as Word for Mac -student addition. I also have an external backup drive and use Time Machine as specified.
What are the easy and appropraite steps to provide my niece a "new" iMac (clean and free of my items) as well as protect my info so I can place on my new iMac? Will I also need to de-authorixe audible for iTunes?
Thank you for your help. I know this is probably a very basic procedure but I want to get it correct and ensure I don't harm either iMac.

Well I don't think your niece is going to rob you blind or sell your company secrets to the highest bidder, so a full 7x- 35x government grade overwrite and operating install is likely overkill.
Just likley some personal files, pictures and videos, stuff like that you want to make sure doesn't get seen.
My suggestion is to clean out your user level files manually in each of your Documents, Pictures etc folders, any bookmarks in browsers (reset Safari, clear cache) and emails you don't want carried on.
Then download and run the cleaning aspects of OnyX, followed by a Disk Utility > Erase Free Space option. (in your Applications/Utilities folder)

You can create another Admin account in her name/nick and delete the first one with your name and all that.
If you really want to get rid of your name from everywhere in the comptuer, then the only option is a c boot from the installer disk, Disk Utility Erase with Zero (7x or even 35x overwrite) and then resintall OS X and shutdown the machine,
When this is done, OS X boots into the first "Welcome to OS X" video you saw when you first setup the machine. Of course you lose Word as that's not on the installer disk. But LibreOffice is free and much much better.

Your allowed up to 5 computers with your iTunes content, but you can deauthorize the computer in iTunes so it doesn't take one of your authorizations.
Also before you do anything, make a MANUAL backup of your data to another drive just in case Time Machine/Migration ***. etc doesn't screw the new pooch on you like it's been known to do.
I always c boot off the new installer disk on new machines and Disk Utility Erase with Zero option the entire boot drive then reinstall OS X, it's not that I'm paranoid, it's that drives are not checked for bad sectors at the factory, they just slap OS X on it and off it goes, problems appear later on as people use the drive or can't read the software correctly off the drive.
So I map off the bad sectors ahead of time, so the software is on good sectors and never have a post issue like others do with new machines.
If you ordered a Mac with custom software installed, obiously your going to need to reinstall it after this.

'Attributes only ' won't create any Extra Tables.
If you Create Attributes only, you can't use this IO as Charecterstic or Navigation Attribute to other IO.
You can only use this As Display Attribute.
Assume, Customer Phone No. You don't want to provide Navigation with this. As well as you need only Latest Value. You don't want history of Customer Phone Numbers.
You need to Create Customer Phone no with 'Attributes only' and Assign this to Customer IO. You can't navigate with Phone No in Queries.

#1. Understand that if you switch carriers, you can NOT take your existing iPhone with you. It won't work. You will need to purchase a new one.
#2. Your only choices are Sprint and Verizon. Decide who has the better coverage in your area. Keep in mind that you will NOT be able to get simultaneous voice and 3G data on either of these, as their CDMA networks do not support it. The U.S. T-Mobile network is not supported and is not fully compatible with the iPhone as it operates on a rarely used frequency compared to the rest of the world.
#3. What in the world are "niners"? Do you mean you want to be able to keep your existing "phone numbers"? If so, that should be no problem. Most numbers in the US are now portable.
#4. Consider WHY you want to switch. If the issue is really price, you're not going to see much of a difference. A few dollars a month at best for comparable voice and data plans.

If you don't know what a CON_ID is or what CDB_USERS contains then you need to start by following that infamous advice: RTFM!
Seriously, many developers will NOT be successful and will have MANY issues similar to yours if they do not firt read the docs and learn about the new multitenant architecture that 12c introduces.
IMHO it is simply a MUST that people learn the basics of the new architecture of 12c or they will have problems/issues doing even simple things like: connecting to the proper database, starting up PDBs, creating users (common vs. local) and using the large set of new CDB_* views.

In that second link I show you the queries you can execute to determine what containers you have and what service names map to those containers.
I also show why you need to answer a whole slew of questions and provide much more information to the forum when you ask questions re 12c:
1. Did you create:
A. A non-CDB PDB named ORCL
B. A CDB named ORCL with no PDBs
C. A CDB named ORCL with a PDB that you think is named ORCL but is really named PDBORCL
2. Is your CDB up and running?
3. Have your PDBs been opened?
4. Are you are trying to connect to CDB or PDB?
If you do a basic install and create a sample database (that would include the SCOTT schema) you will get:
1. A CDB named ORCL - this is the CDB$ROOT and will NOT have SCOTT since it is NOT the sample database
2. PDB$SEED - the 'seed' DB that will be used as a template when you create new PDBs
3. PDBORCL - this is the sample DB and has the SCOTT schema
So you are likely connecting to ORCL (the CDB) and that doesn't have a SCOTT schema as your exception indicates. You need to connect to PDBORCL and you can only do that after you open it.
One way to open your PDBs is to issue:

after you connect as SYS to the CDB. Then you need to open a connection to service name PDBORCL.
Please read the referenced threads above and the doc section on the multi-tenant architecture.
RTFM is going to be a very common response to anyone posting 12c questions if their question shows, as yours does, that the poster likely hasn't read the basic sections. There is simply too much new architecture to try to explain it in the forums.

What is the most cost effective program to "view" only "ai" files, no need to edit

I would like to know what is the most inexpensive program to view only vector "ai" files. I receive artwork from artists and need to view, but have no need to edit the work. I find Illustrator to be very expensive for this view only option. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. I tried a few programs on the web such as softusolve and they opened everything but "ai" despite saying it opens these file extensions.

You didn't say what operating system you are using but if all you are doing is looking at the file and you are on a Mac, then try Art View: http://www.code-line.com/artview/

le and supposed that it was a bug fix release for his version - because the v17 ov18 number is not often displayed. It is usually just 2014 CC.

The problem is I can only update the software on one of the three iPhones – the primary phone I used to setup the iTunes acct. What is the best solution to manage these devices for software updates, apps? This is probably a common problem with families wanting to share apps and music without realizing the issues created by this approach. As it stands today... the first (primary) iPhone associated with the iTune acct has been updated with the latest software version 5.1.1 and sync'd up with all the apps, music, etc from the one iTune acct, while the other two iPhones are still running on the original software version 4.0.2 and are experiencing problems now. I was advised by AT&T back in January that it would be necessary to setup separate iTunes accts for the second and third iPhones in order to receive system updates. The problem would be how to keep all the apps, etc from being deleted off the second and third phones that were originally loaded from the one iTunes acct. Since this AT&T advice was prior to iCloud coming out, would iCloud be a better solution or at least part of the solution? I really don't yet understand how iCloud works. There is probably a red light on inside your headphone port, indicating that the analog/digital switch in there is stuck in the digital position. Insert a headphone plug and wigle it around, especially in the horizontal plane, as you insert and remove it several times. This will usually unstick the switch and restore normal operation. If it doesn't, the machine will need to be repaired.
This has been a fairly common problem, but in most cases it is easily cured as described above.

Homesharing gives you the option of seeing only the content in the shared library, that is not already in your own library.
