TS4148 trying to activate new iphone 5c says invalid sim but i have a signal on the top bar
I got a new iphone 5c and started a new gophone service with the nano sim, but I get a sim not valid , states that it's from a carrier not supported, but there is a signal on the top bar, I got 5 bars. I can not get any further into the activation process. Please help!
Insert a SIM from the carrier the device is actually locked to.

I am trying to activate my iPhone 4 via iTunes but i keep getting the error (1) message at the end of the restore. I believe my iphone has to be in DFU mode but i already tried that and same thing. Does anyone have any suggestions?
The error is just a simple error message just like (1013) instead it says (1). The iPhone I am trying to activate has been activated before I just currently have no service and I think that activating it will solve the problem. I just can't restore through iTunes because it won't finish. I get the message every time I try to restore.

I just upgraded from an iPhone 4 to a iPhone 5.
I cut the SIM card with a SIM card cutter. Micro to Nano.
I use AT&T, and I'm just a teen.
My new iPhone 5 just arrived!
I bought it off eBay, from a trusted seller.
It is real, and when I booted it up for the first time, it sets it up, and asks to put in a SIM card to activate it.
I put it in, and it acts like I didn't even do anything.
No "Searching..." or anything!
It just stays at "No SIM", like when it arrived.

All I know is, is that my family uses AT&T and pays every month or whatever.
We have data plans, 10GB Family Shared.
I asked the seller if it would work, right after putting in my SIM.
I also asked this other person from other forums, and he said yes.
I took it out, blew on it, no dust or anything.
By the way, I put the SIM card back into my old iPhone 4, with a nano-to-micro adapter and it works, so the SIM card isn't the problem. (I think.)
I tried rebooting the phone, etc.

I had my iphone 4 in the outlet in the hallway near my bathroom.. I love the 80's I Heart Radio App...Apparently, the phone has water damage and needs to be looked at or replaced. I have been to 3 AT & T Stores before I received excellent customer service by speaking to the store manager...I had a different design flaw with Moto Atrix was still within the Manufacture waranty. They said it was a desin flaw with the keyboard...not able to fix and would have to pay the deductable.. That is not good enough!!! I buy everything i this i that!!! I can't live without my iphone I have money with Starbucks and also linked to Shell Rewards

Not to mention all my personal numbers, emails, facebook friends.....The phone was not dropped in water and was not in the same room as water but being 10 to 20 feet away something with the steam set off the water display for water damage??? I don't know why this is? When I first started on my quest with AT&T I thought I would have a grace period or design flaw? Please help!! I am unable to conduct daily day to day things without my iphone I was advised if they cracked my SIM card it's broken forever???If the little built-in water detector on the iphone shows positive, ie water damage, then Apple will not do anything for you under warranty. The best thing that they will offer you is a swap to an identical (new phone) at a price around £150 in UK or the equivalent in your own country. If you are backing up to iCloud (or your computer), the new replacement unit will be able to load up all your old information etc. everything apart from synced data like music which you will need to re-upload.
You could argue that the water damage sensor on the iPhone is too sensitive etc. but Apple don't respond too well to this although you will be in a better position (and will be listened to more sympathetically) if you have bought AppleCare for your iPhone.
I know that this is annoying but I hope that you manage to get your problem resolved soon. -
IPhone 4s says "Invalid SIM" with IOS 7.1
I have an unlocked Iphone 4s for T-mobile which allowed me to use the iphone on a metropcs plan with a metro SIM card. I switched to metro on Sunday, today being Tuesday, and it worked perfectly, perfect 4g, perfect T-mobile carrier. Yesterday, Monday, I took a trip to publix and my phone read "No service" and I figured it was an itch and I had no service in publix. But this morning, Tuesday, it still read "no service" even at school, which worked fine on Monday. So I restarted my iphone and then it read "Invalid SIM" and I looked up how to fix that: restarted it by taking out sim and putting it back in, didn't work. Airplane mode on/off, didn't work. Then I read to update completely, to IOS 7.1, which I did and it still did not work. I cleaned my SIM card, didn't work. Reset all settings, didn't work. I read all over that the SIM card may be damaged due to the updates but my sim card wasn't working even before I updated. I'm currently about to restore my phone in hopes of fixing it sigh, but tomorrow, if still not working, I will take it to metro and request a new SIM. Any other ideas guys :---(

I also noticed a SIM related problem iPhone 5 after upgrading to IOS 7.1.
It does not happen consistently, but I noticed that in certain times, iPhone "reception signal level" turns into "NO SIM" or "No SIGNAL" although SIM is perfectly fine and singal strength is high.
I have no idea why it happens, but it started only yesterday after I upgraded to IOS 7.0.1.
Apple engineers, please check this.

I tried opening my mac book pro this morning and its saying that my password is invalid. I haven't done anything to my password and its not letting me log in!! What can I do? I've already shut it down twice and restarted and still nothing.
Reset Password starting from Recovery HD
Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.
Move the mouse to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
from the drop down.
Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click in the menubar and select Restart.
Log in.
If Keychain dialog box appears, select “Create New Keychain”. -

Thanks buddy. never thought it was that easy. my facetime still indicates validating account even the wifi signal is ok, as I was able to download apps. I checked my email and nothing came in yet for verification or validation. I will try it later again.

If I go to the apple store will they replace it? I dropped it a couple months ago and there's a small dent on the topThere's really no way for any of us here to know one way or the other. You will have to take it to Apple and they will tell you whether they consider it covered under your warranty or not.

no, i thought it was that the itunes store was trying to help it come out of recovery mode by updating it to latest ios 6.1.3 but then i saw that my friend was having the same ssue and somehow downgraded it to the latest ios for iphone 3gs which is 4.2.1 so if i can figure out how to do that, i will post on how to do that

trying to activate my iphone 5. when connected to itunes its says i need version 10.7. but when i try to update, it says that im current at 10.6.3.
iTunes version 10.7 requires at least Mac OS X version 10.6.8 if you're running a Mac, or Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later if you're running Windows.
Is your computer up-to-date enough for iTunes 10.7? -
I'm trying to activate my iphone that i got used. i restored it to factory settings. I'm now trying to activate the phone and it says it was originallyh activated with someone else appleid. They aren't around nor do i have anyway of getting a hold of them. How do i activate the phone with my appleid?
If you cannot contact the previous owner, then the iPhone is unusuable. There is no way past the activation lock without the Apple ID and password used to set up the lock, or the previous owner removing the device from his/her iCloud account.
If you purchased the iPhone though a service such as eBay that offers buyer protection, contact that service and file a complaint and get your money back. If you purchased the iPhone privately, then you've wasted your money.

As above really, keep getting activation server unavailable, after trying to activate my phone after a restore
I do have a SIM card installed, albeit it says invalid sim.and this was my reason for a restore.
My sim is the same sim I have had since I bought the phone new, it has never been removed and the phone is not jail broken.

I recently tried to activate my iPhone that I bought brand new from eBay. I set up the phone so I could do everything with wifi but the other day, I called Verizon to get the phone activated but they said the IPhone is alreadyunder an account. I only set up my iTunes and iCloud on my phone. I contacted the seller and told them what Verizon said but she said the phone was already deactivated. What do I need to do? Or is there no hope? Help please
If the eBay seller said the iPhone was already deactivated, then that is an admission that it was not a new iPhone. It was used and activated by another user.
Take your purchase receipt and the iPhone to a Verizon store, talk with their staff, and see if there is a way to get the iPhone removed from the other account.
This may take time as they will likely want to be sure the iPhone has not been reported as stolen.
