TS4185 When I make a face time call, the speaker on the other person's ipad doesn't work.  There is only loud static.

The speaker on my ipad doesn't work when the party I'm calling receives the call.  Has anyone had a problem with this situation.?

Check to see what Microphone you have selected. On Mac's with multiple input options the Video menu will have a Microphone option. Try out the different options and see if any of them work for you.

FaceTime is free to use. You will not be charged for using FaceTime.

  • HT204380 i have a mac book pro and a i-pad 2. both of the devices have the same apple id and same mailing adress. if i want to make a face-time call from my mac book to i-pad 2. how can i do that?

You have to add another email address on one of the two devices that you can use as the "You can be reached for FaceTime at" contact address and then remove/uncheck the Apple ID email address as the contact address on that device. The way you are currently setup is like to trying to call yourself on your on phone - from your own phone.
Using the iPad as the example go to Settings>FaceTime>You can be reached for FaceTime at>Add another email address. Then add a working email address in the next window. Apple will verify the email. Go to the inbox of that email account, read and respond to Apple's email in order to complete the verification process.
Go back to Settings>FaceTime>Uncheck the Apple ID email address and make sure that the new email address is checked/selected (you will see it being verified again) and that new email address will be your contact address for the iPad.

  • When i try to make a face time call to to my ipad from my iphone it would say , is busy at this time? ??

if i try to call my face time call to my ipad from my iphone the call does not go trhu, it says , is busy at this time????

Take a look at what contact info you are using fornthe call.  From the pad to the phone, call the phones number.  From the phone to the pad, it needs to be an e mail address that you identified when you set up facetime.  If you are calling from your pad, using the e mail address, and the same contact point on the phone, it will be busy.

  • HT204380 How do I enter an email address in my contact phone numbers in order to make a Face Time call to it?

    Dear brothers
Thanking you so much to be interested about my answer but what I figured out is as long as you bought your iPhone from gulf or Arabian area it will not has face time application cause I think apple has made special software for Arabian areana to privent facetime according to special request by phone cells companies and one of my friends has told me if you want to make sure that your iPhone not for Arabian areana you should check the model number on your iPhone backside if it ends with 29 it means it's for Arabian countries if other numbers it's gonna be for US. Or Hongkong so it's ok
That's all I could know if you have another solution just please let me know
    Thanks for all answers

  • Face time calls Fail from IPhone to IMac

I am new to face time and not sure what I am doing wrong.  I can make a face time call from my IMac to my IPhone.  When I try facetime from my IPhone to IMac the IMac face time app rings, but when you try to answer the call always fails.  On the IPhone it says that I am busy.  What am I doing wrong?

You're welcome, I'm glad that I could help!
On a side note, if anybody is redirected here from a search engine or elsewhere; the "is busy" message in FaceTime when you clearly are not is almost entirely based on the shared Email (associated with your Apple ID) problem. For example:
Say you have an iPad 2, a iPhone and FaceTime on your MacBook and your iMac in your household, the iPad i.e. is used by your daughter/son, the iPhone and the iMac is used by you and the MacBook is used by your husband/wife. But all of the devices use the same Apple ID (yours).
It helps to associate different Email addresses with each device but not with any other of the devices so any device can be called from another one. As soon as you understood the concept of the solution from the original problem it should be easy to set it up perfectly.
Let's say you have entered the Email addresses on FaceTime in the following manner:
    iPhone & iMac: [email protected]
    MacBook: husband/[email protected]
    iPad 2: daughter/[email protected]
When the iPad 2 calls [email protected] the iPhone and the iMac will ring but you can only pick up on one of the devices. The iPad can also call the MacBook via husband/[email protected] The MacBook can call the iPad via daughter/[email protected] and both the iMac and the iPhone via [email protected] The iPhone can call the MacBook, the iPad but not the iMac (the message "user is busy at the moment" will be displayed). The iMac can call either the MacBook or the iPad but not the iPhone.
As said before: All you need to understand here is the concept, the rest comes naturally.
If there is a related problem please don't hesitate to ask!

  • Is there any way i can make a face time without wifi?, is there any way i can make a face time without wifi?

is there any way i can make a face time call without using wifi?

Unfortunately, no. FaceTime is only available over wi-fi. I do know that services like Skype and Tango allow you to videochat over 3G and wi-fi.

  • HT5538 How do you separate multiple iOS devices using the same apple id account for Face Time calls and iMessaging?

How do you separate multiiple ios devices using the same apple id account for Face Time calls and iMessaging?

The only way I have seen is to have each device use a if fervent email account, if they all are on the same email the FaceTime connection is either to a phone number or to an email address.  If they ar all on the same email, it is up to the user to decide which to use.

  • I can receive face time calls but not make them

Why can I receive face time calls but cannot make one to a contact?

Have you tried looking in settings, general, restrictions and see if the app got restricted? When it's restricted the icon vanishes.

  • TS3367 My wife and i have 2  iphone 4s . since i installed ios6 face time calls  on both phones at the same time when friends try to face time me

My wife and i have 2 iphone 4s. Since i installed ios6 face time calls on both phones at the same time when friends try to face time me.
Also when my wife messages me her phone receives the message first in notifications bar

This sounds like an Apple ID problem.  Do each of you have your own Apple IDs?  Are they each properly set on each phone?  You might try logging out of Facetime and iMessage, then logging back in.  This often fixes connectivity issues.

  • TS4268 when I call using face time I can't see the other person

Why is it that when I use face time I cant't see the person on the other end.  I hear everything just fine but there's a black screen...

Does the from camera work with the camera app?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • I can't receive face time calls - the accept icon disappears when i try to accept

I can't receive face time calls from my wife. My device rings and the accept icon pops up, but disappears when I try to navigate towards it. I can call her and she can accept my calls.

facetime hasn't worked consistently since April 17th.  Rumor going around that it's a way to force people to upgrade to iOS7, who previously wanted to stay with iOS6.
I have two iOS 6 ipads, and neither will work anymore.
very disappointed with Apple if this is indeed the case
