How can I close the Appearance window? screen? from System Preferences?
I am still trying to get used to my new Intel IMac and was exploring. After I looked at Universal Access, two things happened:1) the menu bar at the top and the display got large and I can't seem to return them to the original setting and 2) the Appearance window now won't go away--it allows me only to minimize it and it seems to be preventing me from accessing System Preferences. I have been working on this all morning and I'm stuck. Please can anyone help?
A foolish question on my part, perhaps, but have you tried restarting the computer?

How to open an URL and close the URL window, using adobe javascript
Hi,
Is it possible to open an URL and close the URL back again(without allowing the user to perform any other operation)? I was able to acheive the opening of the URL, using the app.launchURL("address". true); - But here it lauches in new window, and how do i close the window using the javascript. Is it possible?
Thanks.Hi all
In addition to what Bobby W - Adobe TS added, you might find
the following useful as a bypass or workaround to the pesky prompt.
var pw=window.parent;pw.opener=window.self;window.open("
http://www.adobe.com");
pw.close();
I think this will only work for IE browsers. Actually, I
think the whole window.close() only works for IE, but could be
wrong about that.

When I have the downloads window open and I close the browser window, the next time I reopen the browser while the downloads are still going, it returns me to the last page I was on. All previous versions of Firefox would return me to my homepage which I would prefer. Please let me know if this is possible.
When you re-open Firefox and choose Restore Session, by default it picks up your most-recently-open window, and the other windows should then show up in Recently Closed Windows.
The Firefox add-on Session Manager lets you manage how many closed windows and closed tabs are saved, in case it's not enough. -

How do I close the vertical bookmarks listing that is in my browsing window?
How do I close the vertical bookmarks listing that is in my browsing window?
Hi,
Looks like the Bookmarks Sidebar is currently open in your Firefox.
There are 2 ways of closing it:
#There should be a small X mark on the right side of this vertical listing. Just click it and the Sidebar will close.
#Or, you can click on the View menu, select Sidebar, and then select Bookmarks. The Bookmarks sidebar will now close.
Hope this helps. -

How does a servlet close the browser window?
How can a servlet close the browser window it is running in?
I'm running the servlet by calling it in a browser window, passing parameters using POST, with the parameters appearing at the end of the url.
Is there another way to run the servlet, without it affecting the browser window? That would be a better solution. -
How can I close the iOS Diagnostics window?
When trying to solve a problem through Apple's support service a iOS Diagnostics app started and now I cant figure out how to close it. It's not in the recently used list of apps, but when I swype through the opened apps, it's always there.
So my question is:
How can I close the iOS Diagnostics window?Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

This problem just started when I start up Mozilla fire fox it opens 2 sessions or something the first one has my tabs form the previous session the other one is blank except for the 2nd window only has add on information, but when I try to close the second window it automatically closes the whole thing and I have to start all over again, what can I do
You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

'This happens after a FF session is ended and am back on my desktop screen. If I then try to go back online a message says that FF is already running but is not responding. To open a new session you must first close the existing process or restart your system. I have to restart the computer to before it allows me to go back on. How can I close the session and then open a new one without rebooting???
Hey GreenViking,
You can kill the process manually by right clicking in the task bar (next to the time and date) and opening the task manager.
[https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox%20hangs#w_firefox-hangs-when-you-quit-it This article] has some information about Firefox hanging when you try to close it.

Can I use an airport extreme if my imac is version OSX 10.6.8?
I just bought an airport extreme to hopefully expand wifi coverage in my home. When I opened the package I noticed that OSX 10.7.5 is required. My imac is OSX 10.6.8. What recommendations are there for me short of buying a new computer?
