I just got a new itouch 4 and i can't get imessage and facetime to work on my home wifi network (Airport Express). I can't explain it. The itouch works fine otherwise uncluding the internet. Facetime and imessage work at the apple store so there must be something wrong with my home network. Please help if you can!

I changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8 as you suggested with no success, I even tried 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 as suggested by others with no success either. When I try and activate iMessage or Facetime, I still get the same message "could not sign in, please check your network connection". The internet and Mail work perfectly fine on the iPod touch so the WiFi signal IS going through. I am at a loss, any other suggestions would be more than welcome. Thanks!

Check if your new username/email address is verfied
If this works, delete your account on your iPhone (Settings > iCloud)

Can't get iMessage or FaceTime to work

Hi , my son has a new iPod touch and we can't get the iMessage or FaceTime to work . Both have the same issue
If I tap on iMessage I get the enter apple ID account info . I enter his password (name already filled) and tap sign in . It goes to the email page where you are supposed to select the email that people will use to iMessage you . If I do nothing , after 3 seconds it flips back to the apple ID sign in page or if I tap next it still flips back to the same page . It doesn't matter what I do it loops back to the sign in page and it's driving me nuts !!
He can access email , safari , iTunes , app store etc all without issue , it's just the message ans FaceTime that it cannot get to work
Any help would be much appreciated

Ok, I solved the issue!
I found the solution in another thread. Edgarmr had the solution:
Just go to Settings, general, date and time and SWITCH ON the AUTO settings!
No idea how he found this one out as there is zero logic to it, but it works!

I also could not connect to the IMessage, after restore the iphone a few times, changing the configuration of the router, I did everything and nothing seemed to be the solution so that I could use the IMessage ... the problem was a little weird for me, but could you verify if it is not your case is similar.
In the settings, then go to general, the date and time has to be on auto setting.
It worked perfectly after changing that setting, and the problem was in the iPad and the iphone
yo tambien no podia conectarme al imessage, despues de restaurar el iphone un par de veces, cambiar la configuracion de mi router, hice de todo y nada parecia ser la solucion para poder usar el imessage... el problema resultó un tanto raro, pero podrias verificar si tu caso es parecido.
En los ajustes, general, en la opcion de "fecha y hora" tiene que estar en ajuste automatico.
Funciono a la perfeccion despues de cambiar ese ajuste, y el problema lo tenia en el ipad y en el iphone

WHO is your provider? The provider DOES have something to do with it. It must be enabled on their end. If you really believe it is and you can't get it back by resetting the network settings, then set up your phone as a new device without restoring your backup and see if it comes back. If it does, then something on your phone was corrupt. If it does not, then there is an issue with your carrier and the way your account is provisioned.
If your phone is/was hacked or jailbroken so that you could use the Personal Hotspot with an unsupported carrier or without paying for a tethering plan, all bets are off.

IPad mini unless branded for Verizon use will not be accepted for prepaid use. Apple will tell you that the mini is compatable with all carriers, you simply walk into the carrier of choice and ask for a nano Sim.
You pop it in, you turn on cellular if not already on and follow the screen prompts to get you up and running. Its quite easy.
I found my wife's mini only functions on Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T who I set up service with.
Verizon blocks the activation due to the emeid of the device. Apple says it is fully operable on Verizon but they don't let you activate unless its purchased from them or from Apple to use on their system.

Facetime on MacBook Pro, Iphone and Ipad mini no longer works after years of working just fine. I get the message that I am connecting then it instantly just disconnects. Has worked fine for over two years with no issue until about a month ago?
I have investigated and tried things like re-setting apple ID and deleting the plist file etc, nothing works.
My Wife is having same problems in a different location so deffinatly not a problem with my wi-fi.

The Apple Stores will not ship out of their country, and I believe similar restrictions are placed on authorized resellers. So no, that will probably not be possible. Unless you or someone you know will be traveling to Singapore, your friend will probably need to wait until the iPad mini in Thailand is released, which I would recommend anyway since until it is her boyfriend would not be able to get any service on the iPad mini should service be required.
