TS4435 Can not add photos directly from Mail to iPhoto

Apple calls Article: TS4435 a solution? Drag the photos one at a time to iPhoto? Pathetic. This is BROKEN!
Has anyone discovered a better way to save attached photos to iPhoto?

There are several work arounds, all involve additional steps.
If Apple had intended for us to save Mail photos some other way, they would have removed the "Add to iPhoto" option from the "Save" drop down list.
I just spoke with a Sr. Advisor and opend a case so hopefully this will be fixed, some year.

  • How can I Import photos directly from Mail into iPhoto?

Prior to updating to Lion, when viewing photo attachments within Apple Mail, I could do a quick preview of attached photo(s) within the email and click an iPhoto icon that would import the photos into iPhoto. Something has changed now when selecting "Quick Look" I do not get an option to send the photo to iPhoto. Am I missing somthing or is this feature no longer available with Lion/Mail?

Not sure if this helps or not. I recently installed Lion for my mother, and she couldn't figure out how to export photos in an email to iPhoto. Turns out she had to click on Details in the upper right corner of the email message. Then the Save and Quick Look buttons returned. If you click and hold on Save (possibly on the triangle on the right side of the button) there is an option to save to iPhoto.
I haven't upgraded to Lion myself yet so I can't answer your specific question regarding saving to iPhoto from the Quick Look preview.

  • Can not email Photos directly from I Photo. Says the email address and password are compatiable but never asked for a password or showed where to use a passowrd???

Can not e-mail a photo from I photo. Pop up says that the e-mail adress is not compatiable with the password. Was never asked for password and the e-mail adress is correct.

If you are using iPhoto as the e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete the accountband re-enter it

  • When I try to add a photo to my iPhoto library from Safari I get a message that says Safari can't communicate with afar. How do I fix this so I can just add photos direct to iPhoto?

When I try to add a photo from and email in Safari, I get a message that says could not add photo Safari cannot communicate with iPhoto.
How can I get them to communicate? Or, more to the point, how can I get a photo from Safari (usually attached to an email) into iPhoto library?

    iPhoto is 7.1.5
That's much too old. To solve the problem, you'll have to uninstall iLife completely, then upgrade to the current version of iPhoto in the App Store.

  • I updated iPhoto this morning. And now I can't email photos directly from iPhoto. Whats that all about?

I updated iPhoto this morning. And now I can't email photos directly from iPhoto. Whats that all about?

Which iPhoto version did you update to?
If it is iPhoto 9.6 open iPhoto's preferences, go to the Accounts pane and delete the email account.
Now quit iPhoto, relaunch, and add the account back.
You may have to restart the Mac for this to have effect.
If you are using iPhoto as Mail client, you may want to switch to Mail as the email client in iPhoto's General preference pane.
This has been much more reliable in the past and less trouble.

  • Can not delete photo's from photo library ?

Can not delete photo's from photo library ?

Those are photos that were synced to your phone from your computer using iTunes, and they can only be removed by syncing them off.  Connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and uncheck the photos you want to remove, then click Apply at the bottom to sync your phone.  If you want to remove them all, uncheck Sync Photos.  If you only want to remove some of them, remove them from the folder that you are syncing your photos from.

  • Lightroom 5 not importing photos directly from card

I have Lightroom 5, and it's not importing photos directly from the memory card, either via card reader or with the camera plugged in.  I have a Canon 60D, and am shooting in RAW.
LR5 opens, and the photos show up as thumbnail previews.  I click to import, and I get a message that the files could imported because they could not be read.  If I immediately go to the "my computer" icon, the card reader (or camera, whichever is plugged in) does not show up as being connected to the computer.  If I unplug the card reader (or camera), let Lightroom open, then immediately go to the "my computer" icon before I try to import via LR5, the card reader shows up then.  I have to drag the images from the card onto my desktop, then import the images to LR5.
Anyone know why LR5 is doing this?

Greyed out photos means you have previously imported the photos into Lightroom, and there is no need to import them again (nor is it a good idea to do so). You need to go to the Library Module (not the Import dialog box) and find the photos and use them as you want.
If you try to import a not-greyed-out photo, and it takes "forever", close Lightroom and try deleting your preference file: Preference and other file locations in Lightroom 5

  • I can not see photos neither events preview on Iphoto ! How can i fixe that ? (Machine : MacBook Pro)

i can not see photos neither events preview on Iphoto ! How can i fixe that ? (Machine : MacBook Pro)

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Can not add photos to my photo stream.

This morning I started my computer and got the following error.
I get the error on my PC
My Photo Stream can't be updated
iCloud Photos can't update because you don't have permission to add files to download folder.  Open iCloud to pick another folder.
    then I get the error:
The upload folder for iCloud Photos is missing
The upload folder for iCloud Photos had been moved or deleted.  Open iCloud to pick a new folder.
As far as I know, nothing has changed on my computer.  I can not add anything to the iCloud Photos folder.

unable to add individual photos to individual albums.
Best I can tell it's either because that wouldn't work on the iPad, or they haven't enabled it.
Select a Photo (or Photos) in the Photo Stream and click the + button on the toolbar. You can then choose which Albums to Add it to.

  • Can not add any accounts to Mail, Calendar, etc.

This is not an additional account issue.
I can not add even 1 account.
    This is Windows 8 Enterprise.
    I opened Mail App.
I logged in with MS account.
    I went to settings, Accounts.
I clicked on "Add an account"
The I get, "You've added all the accounts available for this app" , but I have not added any accounts at all.
    Any advice?
I am trying to add ActiveSync to Exchange in the Mail app, since full Outlook 2013 is almost unusable on a 10" tablet.

Did you use any proxy during the internal network? Please try to use other network to add the account in Windows Mail App.

  • Lion: import photo´s from Mail to iPhoto

    hi all...
if i save new photo´s from mail directly to iPhoto, they lose their cam & geo data.
save to desktop and import manual will work fine
    at snow leopard it works
    thx for help

First, stop using the card in the camera. Some companies provide photo recovery software with their cards. If not here are some photo recovery programs, I've never used them though. You might also try a Google search for "SD card photo recovery" as some businesses provide this.

  • Can not create .PDF directly from file

I just reinstalled Acrobat 9 (9.5) to a new computer. I cannot create a PDF directly from a Word or OpenOffice document. When I look at the "convert to" or "convert from" tab the file extensions are not listed. I was able to do this before. I tried repair installation with no luck. How do I fix this?

    Does anyone have idea?

  • Photos saved from Mail to iPhoto won't display

I recently converted my niece from a PC to an new 14 inch iBook. She has 10.4.2 and all the latest software updates. When she clicks on the "Save" button in Mail her photos do not appear in iPhoto. After proving to myself this was really happening, I found the missing photos. They are being saved at the root level in the iPhoto folder-not in the respective photo folders. I suspect that this is the problem but I don't know why or how to fix it. I tried saving photos from Mail on a couple of other Macs at my house and the feature seems to work fine.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Hi Joseph, the feature works fine for me too.
the only info I could find was this.
"Add to iPhoto" button in Mail and keyword search in spotlight don't work
If she does have the latest iPhoto, then all I can suggest is to use Disk Utility to repair permissions. If that doesn't work, then just have her drag the images in the email to the desktop, then import them into iPhoto from there.
