  • Is the Do Not Disturb mode working correctly in 2013?

I use the Do Not Disturb function between the hours of 11:30pm and 7:30am.  Starting the new year, the do not disturb mode is always on regardless of scheduled hours. I've tried powering the phone off and on.  I tried changing schedules to see if it changed anything.  It still is on all the time unless I manually turn it off.  Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

I noticed the same issue. So far I desactivated it... It seems like a lot of issues are happening on iOS in this beginning of 2013... So far I was not able to find a fix.
UPDATE: An "auto fix" seems to be on its way: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2013/01/ask-ars-why-will-apples-do-not-disturb-bug- fix-itself-next-week/ So let's be patient.

  • TS4510 When will the "do not disturb" feature work properly?

I want to know if there is a fix for the bug with the do not disturb feature in IOS 6.0.1 When will the "do not disturb" feature work properly?

It's been working fine for me and everyone I know since Monday.

First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
My Do Not Disturb schedule worked fine for me last night. I turned that feature back on yesterday, January 7, 2013 and DND came on and turned off as scheduled last night. Hopefully the reset described above will help you.

  • Do Not Disturb Issue on Macbook Air OS X Yosemite

Recently I've noticed that my manually do not disturb setting is failing to occur. I've tried restarting my laptop, changing my setting of times and notification settings yet I am always having to turn do not disturb on manually. Although, even doing this is pointless as while do not disturb is on all settings are ignored and my computer acts as if it is turned off notifying me of anything I have set it to notify me of if not in do not disturb mode.
This has been going on since I last updated OS X Yosemite - approximately a week and a half ago, in early April.
    All solutions that I have tried include;
    changing notification settings
    changing do not disturb settings
shutting down laptop for extended period of time
    restarting laptop
manually enabling and disabling do not disturb - fix for it not automatically turning on but notifications still received
I'm wondering if anyone else has been having problems with the do not disturb feature lately and if anyone knows of any possible solutions.
I am hoping to not have to remove all notifications from my computer and to find an alternative solution rather than removing the use of my notification centre from my laptop.

Plug-in disk drives are cheap, easy to use, and an essential. I can't imagine what planet Apple were on when they decided we don't need one.
If you have a Mac with a drive you can also copy the DVD onto a memory stick.
You may have to validate an educational edition, hope you are still a student!

  • Do Not Disturb Issue In Mavericks

    Hello,
I am having an issue with the Do Not Distrub feature in Mavericks.  For some reason, the do not disturb keeps getting enabled out of the blue without me even enabling it myself.  That is why I noticed that all of a sudden, I am not receiving any notifications for any application in the OS X notification center.  They do show up when I manually click the notifications icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen, but they don't appear in the rectangular box like they usually do when I receive a notification for an application.  I keep having to go back in to notifications to turn off "do not disturb".  Has anyone else encountered this issue yet?  Does anyone have a solution or idea?
    Thank you!

Have you checked your "time" options in System Preferences---> Notifications---> Turn on DND during X hours?
Check the times and if the box is enabled, I'm guessing you would want it disabled.

  • HT5463 Questions about the "Do Not Disturb" feature not addressed in documentation

    Hello,
I have some questions about the "Do Not Disturb" feature which are not quite addressed by the documentation.
When DND is enabled, will badge app icons still be displayed?
When DND is turned off, either manually or automatically, will Notification Center banners be available for alerts which occurred while DND was on, or are they lost forever?
I guess the main questions is, is DND like an answering machine, which stores up your notifications until you are ready to deal with them?  Or is it a return of the "turn off all notifications" feature that existed in iOS 4, albeit in a more evolved form?
    Thanks,
    - Steve

If you have a schedule set, but activate it manually, it will de-activate at the scheduled time anyway. It behaves perfectly on my 4S, my wife's 4, and both of our iPads.
If you have an iPhone 5, it could be tied to the known issue with automatic time set going Wonky on LTE networks. If that's the case, try disabling the automatic time set and see if it behaves itself.

Hi i currently cannot swipe up to get to the control centre on my iphone 4. So am unable to swith the do not disturb off therefore are unable to use my phone

Do not disturb is also accesible in settings, so you may be able to temporarily avoid the issue by allowing calls from everyone and having it only silent while locked, or perhaps secheduling might work. Other than that, restarting your device may be an option.
Is there any reason you know of that might be making you unable to access control center?

  • HT5463 Will the receive the missed calls/texts when you turn the do not disturb button back off?

Will the receive the missed calls/texts when you turn the do not disturb button back off?

remove case and screen protector- make sure mute swith is off - clean out headphone hole with compressed air
    then if no result
    reset all settings
    settings-general-reset-reset all settings
    now reconnect to wifi
settings- wifi- click network name- enter password - join
if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes
    if still persists have repaired

  • HT5463 I cannot switch off the Do not disturb function.

I turned on the 'do not disturb '  and now the toggle switch will not slide to the off position. I allowed calls from 'everyone' but text alerts do not work. The moon icon is showing. How do I turn it off. I would have thought the switch was for doing that!

    First of all,
Do a reset..it solves most of these kind of issues..
In ur home screen , double tap the homebutton and delete all the apps in multi tasking and then hold ur power button and homebutton simultaneously for about ten seconds or so until you see an apple logo.  do not worry ..you will not loose any data...
After you have done it..try and operate the "do not disturb button".
If it is still not working then it might propably be because of some software glitch.....i recomend that you update ur mobile to the latest firmware 6.1.3..since it solves many small issues like these..

  • How Secure is my iPhone/  provide automatic re-enable of a phone that has set do not disturb.

There are many articles about how smart phones can be hacked to do things not desired.  One I saw discussed recently is that a Smart Phone when turned on
can be send codes to put it in eavesdropping mode where the phone is asking as a transmitter of what is said near it to a phone connection opened by the codes
    sent to turn it on.
One workaround suggested in some discussions was to require everyone to remove the battery from their phone so there is no power for eavesdropping.  Obviously this won't work on an iPhone since the batteries are not removable.  Does the phone provide protection from having eavesdropping instructions from being sent to it?  Is there a way to temporarily disable the phone so it won't respond to such attempts?  If the phone is fully shut down (hold the button down until the turn off option appears and you slide the slide bar to turn it off.  Will it still respond to signals sent to it via the telephone connection or blue tooth link?  Is there a simple way to turn off that capability which allows the user to turn it back on easily when in possession of the phone?
There is a feature to disable receiving calls or messages during a period selected in settings where you give the start and stop of the do not disturb function.
However, I find Do Not Disturb sadly lacking.  If I go into  meeting for theater and am asked to silence my phone Do Not Disturb seems perfect for that need.  However the next morning when my coworkers ask why my phone is disabled, I have to admit I forgot to turn it back on.  What I really need is an option from the easy settings to disable no longer than 2 hours (length of the meeting, concern, movie, dinner party, etc.  then I do not need to remember to turn it back on.
If I set the start and stop time for the do not disturb option for now, if I don't remember to clear it, mu phone will re-enable at the right time but the next day it will go "dark" for the same interval even if I am free.  Was this feature ever tested using real people doing real life situations?  I found holes in the design and easy ways Apple could fix them.  But they keep ignoring my suggestions.
It seems if a feature idea did not come from the design team, the design team does not deign to read and evaluated decent ideas from customers.  I have talked with a number of long term iPhone users who would like such a feature.  I don't know if the competition is doing anything like it.

This is a user-to-user support forum. A good place for suggestions to Apple is https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

It's a feature I would really like as well. Submit your feedback directly to Apple using the appropriate link on the Feedback page:

    Perhaps if enough people ask.
