Text pages? from what you say you are getting the auto flow function to add pages either because you have flowing text or because you have a lot of blank lines as you would if you tap return to move blank space around.

My white macbook screen only works shortly when booting and when adjusting the brightness (turning it all the way down and up from there) and only stays on for seconds. any idea what to do?

Hi. I'm having quite an issue here. My macbook screen is only lid when i boot and when i adjust the brightness of the screen (going all the way down and up from there). either way it goes black again after a few seconds. External monitor works though.
Any ideas on how to solve this?

I buy the dirty theory as well. plug and unplug a whole bunch of times - you may be able to dislodge whatever is causing the issue. Also - make sure the plug is fully seated - (some of the pad jacks are vert tight, and you really have to work them in). I gather you are out of warrenty? Blow in the hole.
last resotr - take a toothpick, dip the end in fingernail polish, get rid of the xs, then very very gently, insert the pick and try to rub the contacts. very gently as you do not want to bend them.

I have deleted my photos but have icloud. when i log into icloud it doesnt give me an option to view these photos at all. my photo stream is only showing photos from another iphone in the house. i am unsure if i do a restore from back up if this will work

If you had Photo Stream enabled with your iCloud account settings on the iPhone, photos in the Camera Roll should have been transferred to your photo steam automatically when the iPhone was connected to an available wi-fi network.
Your photo stream is not available when logging in with your iCloud account with a browser on a computer.
Why were the photos in the Camera Roll deleted?
Photos/videos in the camera roll are included with your iPhones backup. If your iPhone's backup has not been updated since the photos were deleted from the camera roll, you can try restoring your iPhone from the backup.

For iMovie to see your projects, they must be in a certain place. If they are on your startup internal hard drive, they must be in the Movies/iMovie Projects/ folder. If they are on an external drive, they must be in the iMovie Projects/ folder at the top level of the drive. Is it possible that your projects have been moves somewhere else?

It felt as if maybe a virus was at work but I ran Sophos and found nothing.
I store images on my Drobo Raid system but when I work from my Macbook Pro I have no issues, just on the tower.

First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

I would try to Restore in DFU Mode. Connect iPhone to iTunes, hold both Home and Power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release Power button, keep holding Home button until iTunes tells you it has found iPhone in Recovery Mode, this takes about 20 seconds time. If the Screen is Black this is DFU Mode. If the screen shows iTunes Screen this is Recovery Mode. If you get Recovery Mode try to restore anyway. If fails again then definitely try to get DFU Mode, it may take several tries.

Try resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). When the Home screen redisplays, see if the issue has resolved itself.

We have 5 lines but only using 4; how do I terminate the unused line? Is there a fee? Can I transfer end of contract date from another line to the line we don't use?

The contract end date is another year away but my other son's contract end date is next month. Is it possible to transfer the contract end date like we can transfer upgrade dates? No, you cannot transfer contract end dates. If you cancel the unused line, you will have to pay an ETF.
Your son still on your account could start using your other son's line and number. Then you could cancel out HIS old line once the contract runs out, but then he could not get a new phone for another year. Can his phone last another year?

I have several tabs open, and today when I went online some of them loaded my ISPs homepage instead of the sites that were supposed to be there. Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it?

The back/forward navigation buttons are greyed out, and I can't find the sites under the History tab. Actually at first all of the tabs loaded my ISPs homepage, some of them had the Back button active and some didn't. I'm wondering how to get the latter back to the pages they're supposed to be on.

HT1339 Restoring iPod nano to factory settings failed. The device switched to black screen immediately and is dead since then. Any idea what I can do now?

This week, my iPod nano suddenly seemed to have lost all the music that was on it.
when connecting to iTunes, it showed that the music was still there.
I tries to create a new playlist with 1 song in it and according to iTunes, that was successfull.
the iPod however still said 0 numbers are available in the music list.
finally, i executed the restore factory settings and that process failed.
the device immediately switched to blank screen and is dead since then.
when I connect the iPod to the computer, the computer detects that a device is connected and even recognizes it as an iPod.
however, the device is not visisble in the windows explorer.
iTunes automatically starts but shows the error message: the connected iPod cannot be identified ... unrecognized error (2005).
Does someone have an idea what I can do to make the iPod work again?

I tried by connecting to another available PC.
I newly installed iTunes on a PC that did not have the installation.
Connecting the iPod to this PC gave following error: "The iPod software update server could not be contacted. The server does not support this version of iTunes."
I followed the instructions in the "more information" section: iTunes version is the latest available; operating system version is up-to-date, no security obstructions and I rebooted my pc as suggested.
Next attempt to connect the iPod gave another error: "An iPod has been detected, but could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again. An unknown error occurred (2005)".
This is exactly the same error as on the first PC.
the iPod is still out of use
