TS5181 Radio questions-- Match = unlimited skips? Does asking not to play song in one station affect other stations?
1) So, you get 6 skips per hour with basic radio. Does purchasing Match allow unlimited skips in addition to eliminating ads?
2) If I tell Radio not to play songs like one being played in one station, will that same preference be applied to other stations as well?
Okay, no answers yet but I'll add what I'm experiencing.
I went ahead and started removing songs that didn't fit my radio list, even those I liked (taking a chance that they wouldn't then get removed from other stations). On at least one occasion the exact song I said "Never play" on my one station was immediately played on the next station I went to. So that, at least, seemed to indicate that you can remove songs from one station without affecting others.
I say "seemed" because it's still possible that the updating process (whatever goes on behind the curtain we're not supposed to look at) hadn't finished, or perhaps it was taking that identical song from a different album (I didn't check that out) but at least it's pretty good evidence. I will keep removing songs and seeing if they show up elsewhere (I have two stations that are close in terms of drawing from the same general type of music, yet on one I very specifically only want certain artists, while on the other I don't mind who is playing. If I can go back and forth between them I may yet determine a consistent pattern. Or maybe not -- there are thousands of possible songs for both stations, and I may not live that long :>).

That's where I would begin, too, with
Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.

I have the same problem. Often, the songs worked perfectly fine before, even the previous day! Changing the format does not help either, nor does restoring iPod settings. In another case, a song WILL work after settings are restored, but after a few plays will return to its old state of making the ipod reset.

put movies in itunes on one computer why does it not show up when i access itunes from other computers or ipad2?
i just purchased a file that had videos in it. i put them in the itunes library on my pc where i first downloaded them. i was able to transfer them to my other pc, a laptop, through my home network. i am now trying to get them on my mac pro desktop and my ipad2. my mac pro can see the other computers on my home network but i cannot get it to connect to them. i know the operating systems are different but was hoping i could transfer pictures and files from pc to mac this way. haven't been able to get it to work yet. the videos i am trying to get my mac to see came in a folder with both mac and pc versions. i thought if i got the videos i purchased into itunes that i would then be able to get them to my mac pro and my ipad2. i am new to mac/apple and have always been pc-centric so trying to marry it all has been difficult. i speak pc pretty well but am just learning apple. am i trying to do things that are not possible? i sure could use a knowledgable friendly soul to walk me through my issues of having pc and mac on the same network. i have been able to get all computers and ipad to print on my network. thanks.

Sometimes , when I open ITunes Radio, an ad saying that I'm listening to iTunes Radio over and over and I don't get to listen to music. Usually other stations work but select stations just keep repeating the same ad. Why is this?

IPod Nano skips album selection, not showing some songs

recently I tried to use my ipod with winamp since it offers support for ipod, but since then, when I select any artist with an album and singles it ignores the singles, skipping directly to the songs in the album, and I really can't listen to that singles through the "artist>album>song" selection, but patiently I can find then togheter with all the other songs, by selecting directly "songs>all" in the menu...
How may I fix this?

The fact that Amazon is a large company does not protect it from making a crappy site. If its e-commerce pages don't work in Safari, that's laziness on the part of their web developers, pure and simple. There's no reason for a modern web site to fail to work in any standards-compliant web browser. This is something you'll need to address with Amazon. -
Get match on macbook pro but not put all songs on iphone?
can i sign up for itunes match on my macbook pro mainly for the ability to upgrade my lower-quality music? if i turn on match on my iphone 4 what will happen on it? can i still only put certain playlists on my iphone? thanks for any help.
What happens is that ALL the playlists on your iTunes library will appear on the iOS device, your iPhone, but the songs have to be manually added to the devices.

Does your music only play out of one speaker?
I was only hearing music played out of the left channel, either with or without headphones and also when played through a dock.
I found the solution:
Go to Settings : General : Accessibility and slide the L - R slider to the middle. Now the music plays out of both the L and the R speakers.
(If you tap the mono button there, then you will also hear sound out of both speakers, but you won't hear stereo effects, so don't do that).Yes, that is a helpful addition to this thread, but my solution has to do with the speakers and the headphones that are plugged into the iPhone, as well as the stereo effect coming out of the iPhone itself. When the accessibility slider is not in the middle, then you only hear one channel of the stereo program whether fromt he iPhone or from plugged in speakers.

[Bug] Unchecked songs not being played, skipped in all playlists
To me this is a bug. I used the check feature to determine what gets transferred to my iPod -- I have 120 gig iPod Classic and over 300 gig of music as can see not all of my music can fit on my iPod.
1) There needs to be an easy way to to determine what gets transferred to the iPod without affecting what iTunes plays... just because I have it unchecked doesn't mean that I don't like the track... if I don't like the track, I delete it. Multiple playlist isn't the answer, too cumbersome to maintain
2) iTunesDJ will play unchecked but will not automatically choose them... what good is that... there needs to be a simple way of doing this too.

Another method you can use to auto-sync your iPod with iTunes is "Sync Music - Selected Playlists". Syncing selected playlists is just like syncing your whole library only on a smaller scale and more "selectively". This is particularly useful when your library is larger than the capacity of your iPod, it also makes it much simpler to know exactly what you are syncing to the iPod and what you are not. When your iPod is is set to sync selected playlists it automatically picks up any changes you made to that playlist in iTunes since you last connected. Anything you added to the playlist will be added to the iPod, anything you deleted from it will be deleted from the iPod. In other words the iTunes playlist and the iPod are kept "in sync".
Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -My iPod for example (the dash will position it at the top of the playlists in Sources). Drag whatever content you want to have into the playlist. Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod: Syncing Music to iPod
Using unchecking to manage an iPod is an option (and works fine when you are working with a small number of specialised tracks such as Christmas songs) but only if you can live with the other things unchecking does:
Unchecked songs will be skipped when playing songs from the library or a selection. They will only play when individually clicked on.
Smart Playlists have an option that unchecked songs won't appear.
Unchecked songs will not be burned to CD.
Genius and iTunesDJ will not use the songs that are unchecked. -

I assume that you are referring to iTunes Radio, in which case I don't think that subscribing to iTunes Match will affect the number of skips with it - this page only mentions about removing adverts with Match : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5181

ITunes Match No Unlimited Skips on iTunes Radio
I just updated my Macbook Pro to OS X 10.9.3, and now I can't get anymore unlimited skips on iTunes radio. I have iTunes match, and am logged in on my computer. Did iTunes remove the unlimited skips with iTunes radio for Match subscribers? Or is there anything I can do to get my unlimited skips back? Thanks!
This topic has actually been discussed on this forum. Contrary to some reports in the tech media, having an iTunes Match subscription never allowed unlimited skips when using iTunes Radio.

My ipod touch is randomly playing songs on its own. It skips several songs then suddenly stops and plays that song. If i try to select a song it will not play that song it keeps skipping over severla songs at a time then plays again. The album covers do not match that song that is playing and now its not connected to wifi. I need help
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Use a alias, but you might have to use a zip code that matches the location used.
Also if you click the right button there is a way to bypass the registration, like register later or something, Apple has it hidden. Also to bypass the internet connection to send the registration off.
Never place your name on a Mac or PC, it's spread throughout the entire machine, in emails, on the network in plain sight etc.
