TS5185 Not receiving texts to a new phone.

This requires quite a bit of background story so please bare with me. I recently bought a new Samsung Note 3 and it has been absolutely delightful. However, I've noticed that those people who I regularily text that have an iPhone I can no longer recieve text messages from. I found several threads on the Android website that addressed this issue. However the steps listed have not as yet fixed the problem. I've noticed it is only people with an iPhone that I cannot receive a text from, these messages go to my iPad and its iMessaging system. So I turned off iMessage, my old phone and WiFi access to my old phone. None of these things worked. Farther down the thread someone said that for some reason reseting your Apple ID password seemed to work. Now here is my question:
1) Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
2) My Apple ID will not allow me to reset me password or the security questions and it will not send me the email no matter how many times I try. Is there a reason for this?

Having similar trouble. Just activated a Droid Maxx. Still getting iPhone texts only on old iPhone and iPad. Verizon told me to go to "settings" then go to "messages"and turn off "iMessage". I couldn't do it on phone. Was able to do it on iPad. But I'm still not getting texts from iPhones on my new droid

I am having same issue. My text messages don't recognize iPhones and are sending as a text message and I cannot get text messagesn return.

I have followed all the steps to fix this problem, but I do not receive texts on my new Galaxy 4 from iPhone users. I tried everything I was told and found in these forums. Still no luck.

I switched to Verizon in March 2014, from AT&T. I traded in my old iPhone4 for a Galaxy 4. Ever since, I am not getting text messages from anyone who has an iPhone unless they WORK for Verizon. I have deleted my phone from my apple profile and I don't own any other apple products. I switched to an Android because I was tired of Apple's proprietary ways. It seems not matter what I do, and I have done EVERYTHING suggested here on these forums. No luck. I am so frustrated. I have a very large family and almost everyone else has an iPhone. Even if they don't, I am not getting all their messages. I like the new Galaxy, but believe I have made a huge mistake switching carriers and phones, even though I hate Apple products.

I deregistered my phone number from imessage but am still not receiving texts on my android phone

I went the the deregistration process. This improved the annoyance but is still not fully resolved. I still am not getting texts in certain group message settings. The problem seems to be in group texts where everyone else is using imessage except me.

This can be accomplished by deactivating iMessage.
To deregister your phone number, tap Settings > Messages and turn iMessage off.
If you can't deactivate iMessage after you perform the steps above or you can't access the iPhone, please contact Apple Support.

Not receiving texts from US Cellular phone

Starting yesterday 12/2, I stopped receiving texts from my husband's US Cellular phone. I got two random texts from him, but not the others he sent. I also sent him multiple texts and he never received any of them. Today, I received three texts from him this morning, but he sent more than that and he hasn't received any of the ones I sent him. I tried turning off my phone and leaving it off for awhile. I also did the second ios7 update on my iPhone 4. He believes it's an issue with my phone because he's receiving texts from other people through multiple carriers. Any suggestions?
Also, I'm not receiving any error messages or anything out of the ordinary. All texts appear to go through and have the times sent next to them.

Can no longer send/receive texts on my new phone

New Moto e phone and service bought two days ago. Everything was working fine. Went into Verizon account and checked that we did not want to receive premium texts ($0 cost). My phone will no longer send or receive any text messages. When we go into Verizon account premium text option no longer shown so there is no way to undo this. Help, I use texts for work!!!

lindajj, Yikes!! I would be so lost without my text messages. I use my text for everything these days. Let's make sure that we get you up and running with no issues. Does everything else work on your cell phone (calls and data)? Are you using the text message application that came on the phone or a 3rd party application from the Play Store? Also, do you get any kind of error messages when you try to send out a text message? Please keep me posted.

Not receiving texts from a Sprint phone

This has been happening for a little while now, but whenever I text my friend who has a sprint phone I'll randomly stop receiving their text messages. They receive all of my messages, but they'll answer me back I won't get it. I've tried resetting my phone but that hasn't solved anything. Is there any other way I can fix this or should I just bring it back to a Verizon store?

I definitely understand how important it is to receive all of your text messages. I would like to ask a few questions to begin assisting you. Do you notice that you are experiencing this with any other person? If so, what carrier are they with? Does your Sprint friend state that other people mention this is happening as well or just with you? If the scenario has not come up is there a way for you to test messages with other people to draw any trends? What we are looking for is a common denominator to address the root cause. As you answer these questions if it root cause points to your phone only then we can proceed with troubleshooting your device. If it points to your friend's phone please advise him/her to contact their carrier for further troubleshooting. Please let me know if you need additional assistance. Thank you.

Turn off iMessage in your phones settings. Apple devices can only use iMessage to other Apple devices.
Turning off iMessage will allow the messages to go as regular text messages.

Wifi: my Cell phone will remember 10 wifi connections. So delete any you don't use often and your home wifi and try to enter home wifi again.
if it still won't connect to home wifi, call your internet provider for help. You may need a newer router or different settings Or upgraded service. Your phone seeks the best connection and will refuse lesser connections.
last resort. Backup the phone. Do a full reset, then restore as new with the backup.
if still not fixed, go back to apple and insist on repair or replacement.
HOWEVER. voicemail is not a wifi issue, it's a carrier function, which is why the SIM card is a suspect.

Find My iPhone has nothing to do with receiving or not receiving text messages.
What you should have done is turn off iMessage prior to handing over the device.

yeah this is a tricky one i have a family mac account and my son was receivind my imessages, just ensure that your imessages are only being received on your phon number i had our shared email in there aswell and thats whay he was receiving them, so settings/messages/send receive and make sure that it only has your number.

Alll I can say is try to reset your iphone like, taking out the sims card. ALso try loging out of your Facetime and your email on your phone, telll me if that works, and did you try connecting Apple Support Team?
