I followed the instructions in the forum http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376 but the error message I got remained and and no fix resulted. Can anyone help? The error message I get is, 'The procedure entry point ?fastFree@***@@YAXPAX@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library JavaScriptCore.dll.
The next pop up error message is, 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 127)
Does anyone know what i can do to to solve this? I can no longer acccess my iTunes music.

Itunes will not open and error msg states invalid characters
Itunes will not open nor can I unistall and re download the software. error message states "the Program files contain an invalid character"
All other programs, including quicktime run fine. Please advise.A bit odd. That's usually an installation error. So if it is going off when you try to launch iTunes, it must be happening when the iTunes Setup Assistant runs (that involves running an installer routine).
What is the drive letter of the drive on which you have the iTunes Program files installed? If it's a high letter (higher than C: ), has the drive letter of that drive changed recently?
(Checking on this because a drive letter change out from under the program files can confuse the registry, and produce similar messages.) -

itunes will not open and I get a message that the "Data Execution Prevention (DEP)" feature in Windows is preventing it from opening. (this is after I've been using itunes for years???? If I try to manually deselect itunes from the DEP filter, of course I get a message that itunes cannot operate without the DEP active...another Catch 22 from the evil program designers....
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

ITunes will not open AND iTunes.exe will not LEAVE Task Manager
Hello,
I am also having the same issue with everyone else in that iTunes will not open. This happened to me about two weeks ago and I uninstalled and reinstalled the version that came with my iPod. I figured that after a couple of weeks Apple would have figured out the glitch and fixed it. Wrong. B was asking another user if iTunes.exe was appearing and then disappearing in the Task Manager. I am having the oposite issue in that I cannot End Task in the Task Manager on iTunes.exe. What is up? Can anyone help me? Thanks for the support!hi bummed! (you do realise that you're stuck with that alias for the forseeable future, don't you?)

hmmm. if that's going on, then we'd better check up on these two possibilities first:

I just downloaded Itunes 11.1.4 (64-bit) update and am running Windows 7. Itunes will not run after installing this update and I receive an error message R6034 on Loading Microsoft C Runtime Library incorrectly. Also Error message 1114 the Itunes Installer was installed incorrectly. Is there an new update for this problem? Is anyone else having this problem? Please help. Thanks.
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

My itunes will not open and it gives me no error code
Itunes will not load on my coputer i tried the trouble shootin but it still doesnt work
I had the same problem just after updating to iTunes 10.5. I found the solution on another thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/15905544#15905544
The solution was to run as Administrator Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt
(to run as Administrator you right-click the option and choose run as admin)
Then type in the command netsh winsock reset
Then restart to complete, this worked for me. Hope it helps you.
Thanks to birgitfromwittgenstein for the fix. -
Itunes will not open and quicktime will not update
selecting iTunes results in popup message; 'iTunes requires Quicktime 7.5.5 or later...', but QuickTime will not open.
Control right-click did not help.Wow, it looks like your software is very very old.
The current version of QuickTime is 10.3. The current version of OS X is 10.9.1. (Your profile indicates you are running OS X 10.5.8, Leopard. Leopard was released in 2007.)
The current version of iTunes, 11.1.4, will not run on Leopard.
Anyway, it sounds as if all your software needs extensive upgrading. You may be using a computer that is too old to run current software. -
ITunes Will Not Open and I have Tried Everything Posted...
Please Help!
I have downloaded the latest version, deleted it and tried again. I have deleted folders, turned off my Norton protection and still no go.
Can anyone here help me from this 7 hour nightmare? I had an iPod and iTunes on this computer before I traded in the old iPod and bought the new 30GB. Now the iTunes won't open and the PC doesn't recognize the iPod when I hook it up. Is there a solution??? It worked with the old one just yesterday, so why is there a problem today with the new unit?
HELP!!!Did you install the software that came with your IPOD. You may need to install the "Updater" for that model IPOD before ITUnes will recognize it.

Itunes was first getting required itunes component not installed. Click ok and could go to itunes. Determined itunes was not recognizing Ipod, computer does. Itunes diagnostics show problem Ipod not found. Now Itunes is not opening. Have installed Itunes again with repair option, then uninstall/install option.
Then manually unintalled Itunes, Quicktime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, and Application Support. This is a Windows 7 Toshiba PC. Has anyone had this happen or have any ideas?hi bummed! (you do realise that you're stuck with that alias for the forseeable future, don't you?)

I installed iTunes 10.2.2. When I tried to open it, I got the message that iTunes needs to install Rosetta to open. It then appeared to download and and install Rosetta. When I try to open iTunes, the icon bounces but iTunes does not open. The icon has also changed from the usual iTunes icon. What do I do now?
I have a 2010 MBP15 which I do not use as much as my pc. When I do, I check for updates and I believe I updated iTunes to 10.2.2 a week or so ago. Since I still use iTunes primarily on my pc, I didn't bother firing up the updated iTunes on the mac.
Last week, when I actually started iTunes on the mac, I got the message that Rosetta needed to be installed. Like abefighter I stalled. I surfed the net, read this thread to get some hints as to w** was going on.
When I checked the system profile in the mac, I think it showed PowerPC for 'kind.' Surfing the Internet I found out Rosetta was something needed to help applications work on PowerPCs. But wait, since this MBP is an Intel, why would or should it be asking me for some stone-age plug-in that was never mentioned in all the previous updates for iTunes until now? Fyi, the iTunes icon on the dock had changed to what I think is an AppleWorks icon.
So, I assumed that the update that resulted in my mac was corrupted. At first I scoured for 10.2.1, thinking that the last version was a dud, but in vain, nowhere to be found. I gave up and settled for a fresh 10.2.2. I did a casual delete, without touching any of the related personal preference files in my folder and it now which works fine. I'm glad I didn't jump to install Rosetta; I read elsewhere about someone who actually went through with the Rosetta install that resulted unhappily.
Unless the mac in question is a PowerPC, I would doubt the need for Rosetta installation.
