Tune transfer

ok, i know that "tune transfer for ipod" isn't a product of apple, but.. i bought this product which transfers songs from my ipod into itunes and it works pretty much fine, songs are being transferred onto my computer..
the problem is that i've just noticed that when i use tune transfer and transfer songs onto my computer from my ipod, somehow space is getting taken up on my ipod, and the amount of free space is slowly decreasing.. i'm wondering if the program is putting invisible elements onto my ipod and not deleting them after the transfer of tunes is complete.. please help, or at least show me a way that i can check for stuff on my ipod that is taking up my space other than music..
thank u muchly..

If you have a new iMac you have an Intel based iMac. This is the discussion area for the iMac G4. You should post your question in the Intel based iMac discussion area.
From what I can see, the "Tune Transfer" is very old software and has been discontinued.

  • Trouble installing "Tune Transfer" on my iMac

I tried to install the Tune Transfer disk, onto my brand new iMac. After the installation bar gets to 100%, it goes to the next window that says "Errors occurred during the installation. JVM not found"
I am new with Macs, and I am really having trouble figuring out how to correct this, and websites on google have only confused me more.

  • Tune transfer software

so I wanted to transfer all of my napster music to my ipod and I bought software called Tune Transfer for iPod. For some reason my laptop isn't recoginzine my ipod even though it is connected correctly and I can use itunes. When I go to my computer it isn't showing my ipod connected to a drive. The software then is not detecting an ipod either and I can't do anything. I have verified the USB port power is staying on and all my system requirements are met. Has anyone used this software before?

    Thank you for your recommendation(s).

  • Tune transfer and Java

I am attempting to use Valusoft-Tune Transfer for iPod with my iMac. During the install process I receive the signal 'JVM not Detected.' I have spoken to valusoft who indicate that I should download Java from java.com. Mac OS X has the java app. Question: What needs to be added, if anything to make the tune transfer app function?

  • "jvm not found" on tunes transfer install----PLEASE HELP

hey all! very new to mac ownership (been using my new pro for only a few hours now!) and im trying to install tunes transfer to get all my jams from my pod to my new machine, but i keep getting the "jvm not found" error. how can i correct this?? im not very technical so if anybody could explain this to me in the simplest way possible i would greatly appreciate it! thanks in advance!

The only Tunes Transfer I can find is a Windows app, but assuming you've found a Mac version somewhere...
The error means it can't find your installation of Java. My first guess would be that TT is looking for an older version of Java than the one that's installed on MacOS X these days.
Since moving music from iPods back to computers is not supported by Apple, I won't recommend any alternative applications by name. But you might try googling for iTunes spelled backwards

  • I-Tunes Transfer Script - Duncan Bernhardt

I'm not sure if this is the correct location for this, but i noticed that some other site admins are getting help directly from Duncan Bernhardt, so i'll give it a go.
I'm trying to do the initial setup for our I-tunes account (the address is https://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Browse/und.edu), and I keep getting messages saying the page has been opened in i-tunes, but then there's a error page, and it looks like I-tunes is looking for the transfer script at
    https://www.und.edu/cgi-bin/itunesu?destination=und.edu
Is this correct? This is the location where the transfer script should be located?

    University of North Dakota

The transfer script just needs to be hosted some where that you can access it, but preferably it would be hosted in a secure, password protected location as it gives you site administrator level access to your site.
The script generates an HTTP POST request that is sent to the iTunes U server. The server checks the digital signature of the token to ensure it is valid. If it is valid then iTunes U returns a redirect URL that gives you access to your iTunes U site.
https://www.und.edu/cgi-bin/itunesu?destination=und.edu is the default login URL for your site. You are redirected to this URL when your authorization fails. You can change this login URL once you have access to your site.

  • Problems with I Tunes transfer from CD

So, I am trying to consolidate two libraries - one on my laptop which has music from CDs and the other a desktop which is where I have made most of my i tunes purchases. I made a back up disc from desktop and installed it on laptop. When I synced to my I-pod shuffle, only about half of the songs showed up on the Shuffle. When I tried to manually put the songs that didn't transfer onto the shuffle I am told that I am not authorized to play that song on the new computer. Why would some purchases transfer and some not? Thanks for any help - this is really frustrating.

When I tried to manually put the songs that didn't transfer onto the shuffle I am told that I am not authorized to play that song on the new computer
To authorize the song on the new computer, thereby allowing it to transfer to the shuffle, play one of them in iTunes.

If you're looking for the music when you're opening the iPod in the My Computer window, it won't appear there even when it has been successfully transferred. Instead, check the amount of free space on the iPod; if the music has been transferred successfully, it will have decreased.

  • Anybody familiar with the TUNE TRANSFER for Ipod program?

This software product was created by Valu-Soft. It was designed to recover music files from iPod to a NEW PC. However, it appears that this program does not work with a PC that has already iTunes library. Are there any shortcuts or commands to circumvent this condition?

Well... it isn't really a data format. A device driver (which includes a printer driver) provides a number of callbacks which correspond to the graphical calls made by a printing program. (At least, that's how it was when I looked into it a very long time ago). A driver might be asked to draw lines or boxes, to output text with particular fonts and attributes, or to accept a variety of raster graphics. This is something for an experienced programmer, or team, already very familiar with Windows graphic models such as GDI: device drivers are not easy to develop or debug, and because they run with special privileges; bugs in them have the potential to completely crash the system (blue screen of death) (although I read of something called "user mode drivers" which might be safer).
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/gg463348.aspx is a place where some of this seems to be discussed. I don't know whether you have to sign up with Microsoft. You might, because recent OSs will only install signed drivers.
Updated: if you still want to make a PDF, this is an enormous task, so big that Adobe dropped the two drivers they once had. Adobe don't even write the Adobe PDF driver. Rather, they use the operating system's PostScript driver, then convert PostScript to PDF using Distiller, a tool they conveniently already had. Adobe provide what I think is called a "print monitor" (?) that takes the output from the driver once it is fully formatted. If you can process PostScript you could do the same. (Note: a PostScript interpreter from scratch is a considerably larger task than a print driver, so that isn't an easy option; look at 5-10 person years if the people are sufficiently skilled).

    - Transfer your iTunes' purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Try making a backup of the iPod by right clicking on the iPod  under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup.
    - Connect your new iPod and restore the iPod from that backup if you wish.

  • Oops! Didn't transfer itunes library when I got a new PC Help?

Bought a new PC in dec 2005 and didn't back up Itunes library. Now I have a new library on the new PC and, after lots of hassle every time I connect Ipod (4th Gen) to PC it shows my Ipod Library as a separate Library. I now have to manually drag and drop tunes onto Ipod from the new Library. I don't know how to get the PC instantly connecting Ipod and automatically transferring any newly added sounds. Additionally, sometimes Itunes doesn't even recognise when my Ipod is connected which means I have to unistall/reinstall software.

I had that SAME issue...when I evacuated New Orleans, I brought my I-Pod, but left my desktop computer at home! Needless to say, the computer is shot from the 10 feet of flood waters. I had a laptop for school and it was not recognizing/updating my I-Pod! It would not even show up in I-Tunes! My brother purchased Tune Transfer (about 20 bucks) and it transfered all my music from my I-Pod onto my laptop. Same with all his music. Only problem was, you would have to import each song individually. But if you still have your old computer, all you would have to do is make data CDs and transfer them to your new computer. Make sure your I-Pod is updated and you have the latest I-Pod updater as well and the latest version of I-Tunes. It is good that your I-Pod is showing up in I-Tunes...when it is connected click edit, then preferences, then the I-Pod tab, then the music tab, then automatically update all songs and playlists. That should do it! It worked for me and it should work for you! If you have any other questions, don't hesistate to ask!
