Tune up my mac free download
I have been having some computer problems with my mac. I came across tune up my mac one day and I downloaded it but it was only the trail version. Once it was done running you had to purchace it. Is there someplace where I can get a full version download? Also, Is tune up my mac trustworthy?
Most people around here, myself included dont' advise "tune up" software because it's sort of like putting fuel cleaner in the gas for a busted radiator.
The better course of action is to have a mechanic look over the whole vehicle and tell you what's wrong.
Unfortunatly we can't crawl though the lines and tell you what's wrong with your machine, we can only advise based upon what you tell us and usually that's limited because your the one asking for help and if you knew already then you certainly would be asking questions.

PLEASE HELP ME. I transferred my music library onto an external hard drive as it contains about 30 000 songs. I got a second hard drive as extra security and loaded the songs onto that as well. Both hard drives now contain my music library however when I click onto my i tunes on my mac I am only seeing the music that I have downloaded from the i tunes store that has been kept in the cloud. How do I get my music from the hard drive to be recognized on my mac? Please, please, please help!!!
To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them. -
The upgrade notification did not give a free download icon so I asked you and you replyed with an email with a link. I went to the page and could happily download nr 5 instead of 6 but well.
Now firefox gives still the notification to upgrade and what i downloaded does not work on my mac with safari.
So can i savely stay with 3.6 ?You can't use Firefox 4 on Mac OS X 10.4, on on 10.5 you need the Intel chip.

I doubt that Firefox 5 or 6 would be any different, once support is dropped for hardware or operating system it stays dropped, you need to stay with version 3. -

I participated in getting the free download of Mountain Lion for new Mac owners. It took me three days to finally get a code to do it and when I tried downloading it, the estimated time was 74 days 17 hours. Now an error occurred. What do I do? No, those are different apps... The one for your Mac is the computer version, and looks different. Both are developed for their separate OS's: iOS and OSX.

No printer in preview or pdf after downloading Tune Up my Mac
After downlading Avast and Tune Up my Mac, I can no loger print from Preview or PDF function from a downloaded file, such as a bank statement. I have a Mac mini Mid 2010 using lion 10.7.5. When I go to add printer from the print window that pops up, there is no printer available, however I can print from a regular "Pages" document without a problem. Most annoying.
That's because "Avast" and "Tune Up" are both scams, and they wrecked your system.
"Avast" is perhaps the worst of the whole wretched lot of commercial "security" products for the Mac. Not only does it fail to protect you from any real danger, it throws false warnings, destabilizes and slows down the computer, and sometimes or always corrupts the network settings and the permissions of files in your home folder. Removing it may not repair all the damage, and neither will Disk Utility or even reinstalling OS X.
Back up all data, then remove "Avast" according to the developer's instructions. Restart.
If you tried to remove Avast by dragging an application to the Trash, you'll have to reinstall it and then follow the instructions linked above.
Remove "Tune Up" as well.
Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and (unless otherwise specified in this comment) I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking the Customize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
WARNING: Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software. -

The above advice is sound.
If you see free versions of Office or components like Word and Excel separately, then they are likely to be trouble.
Mostly that are likely to include Malware, possibly Trojans but Viruses are are unlikely as there is no recorded Mac OS X virus in the wild (Anywhere outside Lab conditions).
That is not to say that there will not be a Virus at some point and a free download is just the sort of vehicle those bad people will use.

Initial Free Downloads at i-tunes insallation
Last night was my very first experience with i-tunes. i downloaded i-tunes and installed in on my computer so that i could start using my new i-pod. as soon as i opened i-tunes free items started downloading into my directory. the files were loading alphabetically and it was taking a long time. i decided to click on the "stop" button because i thought i was getting a lot of downloads that i wouln't want. then i browsed the items that did get a chance to load into my library and realized that there were some things i liked. i would like to finish that free download all the way to the end, but have no idea how to do it. can anyone tell me? i tried to un-install i-tunes and re-install it but that did not seem to work. any information would be much appreciated!
