Tungsten E2 battery charge not retaining.

My Tungsten E2 is about 2 years old. After charging the Palm battery life symbol indicates full charge. However within 10 minutes a low battery message is indicated and the battery symbol shows empty charge. Pse advise. Thanks in advance.Suresh
Post relates to: Tungsten E2

If you have been a moderate to heavy user for two years, the battery is probably nearing the end of its useful life as LiOn batteries have a finite number of charge cycles.
Replacement batteries can be had from pdaparts.com and usedpdaparts.com. The first site has takeapart directions to do this yourself and the E2 battery plugs in (rather than soldering on other models).

iPhone 5 getting really hot and battery charge not lasting very long at all??

Try some of these to save battery time:
Settings>Notifications>[Turn off any notifications you don't need]
Settings>General>Software Update (Make sure you're up to date)
Settings>Brightness & Wallpaper> Auto-Brightness on (And that your brightness is not to the max)
    Settings>Privacy>Location Services>Turn off/Stop apps from using it
    Settings>Bluetooth>Off
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data>Manually
Settings>Wi-Fi> Off (When you don't need internet when you're out and about)
    To stop overheating, note these:
    Operating Temperatures: 0° to 35° C (32° to 95° F)
    Non-Operating Temperatures: -20° to 45° C (-4° to 113° F)
    Hope this helps!

I used the HP test utility on my battery: Working and charging 100%. When I unplug the AC adapter the laptop shuts down. I tried to restart without the AC Adapter, but nothing. Nada. No power, even though the test says OK @!#!@#$#@$!@
Any suggestions please. Could this be a battery Jack problem INSIDE the laptop?

  • Battery Charge not Lasting

I recharge my battery as per the instructions, and then when it is unplugged from my computer, the yellow warning sign flashes "connect to Power" this also can happen even when my Ipod is switched off. Does any one have the same problem, I have thought it maybe a manufacturing problem and I need to return the I Pod?

    Hey Claire,
Are you charging the iPod from a PC or from some other accessory, like a sound dock?
Make sure the iPod is directly connected to a powered USB port and not plugged into a keyboard, monitor, or hub.

  • Battery Charge Not Happening Consistantly With Gingerbread

Ever since the Gingerbread update, my phone has had issues with charging.  Under Froyo, this was not a problem.
    Here's the deal...
I plug in the device to charge up, it seems to get to 100% and then starts to drain power while plugged in.  It will still display as 100% while plugged in, but once I unplug it well after it hits the 100% point, it then shows what the battery actually is at (ex. 67%).  You might ask why I don't unplug it when it hits 100%, but some of those times are when I'm sleeping.  When I wake up, it says 100%, but when I disconnect it from the charger, it'll really be like 80% and will display that immediately.
One day I had it plugged via USB to my work computer, it showed 100% the entire time.  I was listening to streaming radio all day and because I wanted to be sure it would be fully charged at the end of my day, I kept it plugged in.  When I unplugged, the battery was really only at 6% and gave me an immediate warning about my critical battery level.  Again, this never was a problem before GIngerbread.
I did a battery pull to see if that would right the ship and I initially thought that it had for a day or two, but I just noticed that the issue returned this morning after taking it off the overnight charge and only showed up at 80% upon disconnect.  The only thing I can think of that could have thrown it off is that I restarted my phone yesterday -- maybe that brought the problem back?
This isn't really a battery life issue as I've read in other posts.  I'm not noticing any problems with how long the charge last.  The only problem I'm having is getting it charged to 100% and keeping it that way until I unplug it.
Sorry for the length, but I wanted to be descriptive of the issue.  Anyone else have this problem since Gingerbread?  Any solutions?

I have seen the 60% issue after it was sitting on the charger, the notification panel had said 100%, but when I finally got around to unplugging the charger it was now 60%...
I have oddly seen a similar activity even when the phone is off and charging.
I am currently not pulling the battery. I do run my battery dead and I mean right up to the phone turns off showing a blinking red box. I turn the phone on again, oddly enough it has enought power to boot up again, wait for at least the media scanning to almost complete, then plug in the AC. I charge it up to 100% if I am around and paying attention. I unplug it from the AC charger. I ask the phone to power down. I wait till I am certain it has powered down, usually 2 minutes. Then I plug in the AC and let it charge up to 100% again.
I have the additional problem that my battery is draining to fast and not lasting as long as I think it should and posted in another topic about this. This problem seems random to me, but could be related to the fact I am not really getting that 100% charge I thought I got.
I also believe my phone is not trickle charging after it hits that 100%. Maybe this was to extend batter life in years, but maybe it should monitor the battery and if it goes down 5 or 10% charge it back up to 100% instead of letting it drain. I have a habit of leaving my phone charge overnight, because I expect to get up the next day and use it for at least 8+ hours...
I have completed several factory resets at this time trying to narrow down if I have a bad app or bad update. So far this last test shows that even after factory reset, not visiting the market or installing any apps, the problem still exists for me. I have noticed a small issue with my factory reset that leads me to believe I might not be getting a full wipe as I would expect.

  • Battery charge not 100%

I am using z10 past one month. few days back I got notification about software update 10.2.1.2941(92 mb) updated the same ,my problem is like when I charge the battery it becomes 100% after that battery showed 82% and my phone goes switch off every time ,if I repeat the charging process it's started from 82% .should I wipe the phone????
Subject Title edited to reflect new topic.

Remove the battery for 90 minutes. that will reset the battery meter. You may need to try it a couple of times. If that still doesn't work then replace the battery.

  • Battery Charge not Held??

Hi i am the owner of a silver ipod mini that i have used only a few times. I bought it about a year ago and have had some trouble with the batteruy with it. I will charge it in the wall or through the port on the side oof my power book G4 and when it says that it it charged i will take eject it and disconnect it. after oding so i try to listen to music but within a minute the message that "you battery is low please charge now" comes up and it will turn off. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of what to do to help this.
    thanks alot
    Hunter

Apple states that after about 14 to 28 days of non use, the iPod battery may be fully discharged. You left it for 9 days and lost half the charge (bear in mind that the battery indicator is only an approximate guide).
Seems about normal to me. See this.

  • Battery charge not recognized

My ipod's battery will be fully charged and then 40 minutes later it will shut off and when I try to turn it back on it says low battery.
Sometimes if I wait a while, I can turn the ipod back on and the battery will show a full charge and work just fine for another hour or so.
    I've reset, updated and restored.
I think the battery is holding the charge because when I plug in the ipod to recharge, it only takes a few minutes to get to full power... It seems like the ipod just doesn't know that it has battery power.
Is anyone else having this problem?
    iPod mini   Windows XP
    iPod mini   Windows XP

yes, i do have the same problem. With different time intervals though.
I think our batteries are broken. The only solution would be a battery replacement, which is free if you bought your iPod less than a year ago.

  • Battery charger not working

I have a pavilion dv6 entertainment pc the model says it is a 1007TX, I have owned the laptop for nearly 2 years now and have had atleast 3 chargers for it. My fourth one has just stopped being recognized by the laptop. I have tried replacing the battery also to solve the problem all the cables seem in tact and there is power coming from the wall. Why does this problem keep occurring? Any advice on how to fix or prevent it is more then welcome, Thankyou

    Hello Krisrrll,
You stated that the only time the computer will notice the AC adapter is when you plug in it prior to turning the computer on, is that accurate? I will do what I can to help you resolve this issue.
You have already mentioned flashing the bios, if you can confirm what is your current version that you have installed?

  • Battery charges intermittently or not at all (Satellite A215-54757)

Hello all, I am having an issue with my 8-year-old Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757. I lurked around many different forums seeking a solution but could not find anything that worked. My battery/power manager says "plugged in, not charging" and will not gain charge. Currently my battery is at 26%. It was at 22% about an hour ago and has been charging intermittently for about 3-10 seconds at a time, with very long breaks in between. The most frequent times it charges for a few seconds is when I take the battery out and put it back in with the computer running. I am wondering why it is not charging? Is my battery too old? Should I replace it? Or should I replace my AC adapter? Here is what I have tried so far:- Checked/wiggled AC adapter cords- Taking battery out and putting it back in (power off)- Taking battery out and putting it back in (power on)^^^for that one, my computer did not shut down, which means my AC adapter is working to some degree yes?- Taking battery out (power on), shut down computer, boot up, put battery back in- Uninstalled ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, then scanned for hardware changes None of the above worked. As a further note, the battery is old but retains its charge to some degree. I unplugged my AC adapter and my laptop ran off of the battery at an expected rate (though I should probably get a new battery anyway... it was draining somewhat fast compared to 8 years ago). Things I have not tried:- Updating BIOS (Currently I'm not in a location where I can download the update)- Replace battery with a different one- Replace AC adapter with a different one Laptop runs OK when it is plugged in (aside from becoming very hot at times) but trying to figure out how I can get this darn battery charged for plane flights. Thoughts/opinions?

Apologies for double post but figured I should add one thing: I have not tried a hard reset, mainly because I do not want to lose my data. But I'm willing to consider any suggestions. If you think I should invest in a new machine entirely, I wouldn't disagree with the idea

  • Battery life seems short or the battery does not hold a charge, seems to drain quickly or does not last as long as expected.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

IMPORTANT Notes while charging your Reader device:
It is recommended to charge the Reader using the supplied AC Adapter. When using the AC adapter to charge your Reader device, the lightning bolt symbol that appears next to the battery icon [FIG. 1] on the display of your Reader device is an indication that it is connected to AC power and is charging the battery properly. If the lightning bolt symbol is not present, double check the AC Adapter to ensure that your Reader device is properly connected. This symbol does not appear while charging via a USB connection.
If you charge via a USB connection and leave your Reader Digital Book connected to the computer to charge and the computer goes into sleep/hibernation, charging will stop and the red charge indicator on the Reader will turn off. If left connected, your battery may begin to discharge. To avoid this, turn off any sleep/hibernation settings while charging or set your sleep or hibernation settings to come on after your Reader Digital Book has been charged and then disconnect it from the computer once charging has completed.
It will take approximately 4 hours to achieve a full charge with a computer. It will take approximately 2 hours to achieve a full charge with the optional AC Adapter.
If your Reader Digital Book is left connected to a powered USB hub while the computer is shut down, your battery may begin to discharge. Disconnect your Reader from the hub when the computer is not powered on.
Always verify that your Reader is fully charged by disconnecting it from the computer and checking the battery indicator. The battery indicator will display 4 black bars when it is fully charged
On a full charge, the battery has the capability of up to 7,500 continuous page turns. Actual battery life will vary based on usage patterns, settings and battery conditions. When the Reader is turned on, off, or a page is marked, battery power is used, thus lowering the expected battery life.
NOTE: When storing the Reader for a long period of time, use the Device Shutdown feature in the Advanced settings menu. After using Device Shutdown, it may take approximately 30 seconds for the Reader to start the next time the Reader is turned on.
Playing audio will reduce the battery life. If you did not start audio play back intentionally, confirm audio is not playing. You will not hear playback unless headphones are connected. Audio playback will continue until it is stopped by turning it off from the Now Playing menu. To see if audio is playing, press the HOME button and then press the OPTION button. If Now Playing is displayed in the dialogue box that appears, tap Now Playing and this will take you to the song that is playing. Press the Pause button to stop playback of that song and then press the HOME button.
    NOTES:
Due to the nature of the E Ink electronic display technology, the LCD can retain an image without having power. Turning the page is the only time power is consumed. If the Reader's power is drained, the LCD will retain the last image that was displayed, thus making it appear like the Reader is frozen and in some instances it will not have enough power to perform other operations such as turning on or off.
Battery life can be affected by operating temperatures below 41 degrees F, lack of use, or if the battery has not been given enough time to fully charge.
As with any battery, if the Reader is stored for an extended period of time, the battery will discharge on it's own. Therefore, it may be necessary to charge the battery prior to use.
If the Reader has not been used for an extended period of time, repeatedly charging and discharging will improve the efficiency of the battery.
If the battery life still seems short, the battery may need to be replaced.

Hi! I'm just having a little trouble when it comes to battery charging of my iPhone 5 with its new iOS 7! It doesn't indicates that the battery is fully charge unlike the old version of iOS! I already read some reviews and discussion about this. They said that the lightning bolt should pulsate when charging but it's not!

Thanks for the replies. It took a while not hearing anything so thought I was alone. I have done many of the suggestions already. The key here is that it occurs on both phones with apps, and phones still packaged in a box.
A Genius Bar supervisor also checked his Verizon data usage log and found the same 6 hour incremental use. Suprisingly, he did not express much intrigue over that. Maybe he did, but did not show it.
I think the 6 hour incremental usage is the main issue here. I spoke with Verizon (again) and they confirmed that all they do is log exactly when the phone connected to the tower and used data. The time it records is when the usage started. I also found out that the time recorded is GMT.
What is using data, unsolicited, every 6 hours?
    Why does it change?
Why does it only happen on the iPhone 5 series and not the 4?
Since no one from Apple seems to be chiming in on this, and I have not received the promised calls from Apple tech support that the Genius Bar staff said I was suppose to receive, it is starting to feel like something is being swept under the rug.
I woke up the other day with another thought ... What application would use such large amounts of data? Well ... music, video, sound and pictures of course. Well ... what would someone set automatically that is of any use to them? hmmm ... video, pictures, sound. Is the iPhone 5 succeptible to snooping? Can an app be buried in the IOS that automatically turns on video and sound recording, and send it somewhere ... every 6 hours? Chilling. I noted that the smallest data usage is during the night when nothing is going on, then it peaks during the day. The Genius Bar tech and I looked at each other when I drew this sine wave graph on the log print outs during an appointment ...
