Tungsten E2 stuck in TAP SCREEN LOOP

The screen was not responding correctly when I tapped on buttons, it seemed like I was having to TAP too high, so I went to the screen option to fix this and it started the loop that I can't get out of.  I have done a soft and hard reset and it is still in the loop.  Does anyone know how to fix this.

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Support Community.
Please refer to this lengthy thread at the top of the Hardware board which discusses many of the issues and suggested fixes relating to an apparently faulty touchscreen (digitizer).

  • 10.5.3 won't install... stuck in blue screen loop

I chose to install it from software update. It told me to restart. I did.
I got hung up on a blue screen loop.
But no error messages or anything.
    I had to hard reset.
Then started up fine- but system profiler shows I'm still 10.5.2.
And software update still shows the update as "downloaded".
If I click "install" it immediately asks me to reboot, and sticks in the blue screen loop again.
I have done this three times now.
If I choose restart from the apple menu- same thing.
So I decided to shut down- can't shut down. Get stuck in the looping blue screen.
So it seems like something is gumming up the shut down process. I've heard of startup items making things freeze- can the same thing happen when shutting down?
Not sure what the issue is.
The other people posting problems seem to be getting error messages, etc.
I am going to try to repair permissions, and if that doesn't work maybe I'll try the standalone installer- but why is this happening? this is like a 2 week old MBA with next-to-no third party stuff installed on it... what could be corrupted already?
fortunately I have backups if worse comes to worse...
    Any other tips/thoughts?
    Thanks!

should i try the standalone installer?
You could try, it's been known to sort system issues because it's fuller than the incremental "delta" update, so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
But if you can't boot into Safe Mode something is amiss*. Since, you are able to use your system (not stuck on blue screen, try this first:
Go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test. If not go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving ~(yourHome)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
*EDIT: You do have to hold the shift key for Safe Boot until you see the spinning gear, just in case you didn't do that.

My Ipad is stuck in an "infinate loop" it goes from the "loading" (white apple) to the openning screen. I can slide to the passcode entery screen but it will not take the passcode. ( when I type it it does not recognize on the screen)

I suggest try getting it back to your stock iOS and forget about jailbreaking.

  • IPhone 6 stuck in red screen starting loop and won't restore.

Ok, so i've been using my iPhone 6 happily since release day, the only problem I had was a flickering white line at the bottom of the screen while browsing certain webpages and using certain apps. It got to the stage where it was annoying me enough to make me contact apple support. The advisor told me to reset my settings and that should fix the problem... It didn't, it has just made things a whole lot worse! My phone failed to restart after resetting my settings, and has been stuck in a startup loop ending with a red screen for about an hour now. I tried a hard reset with no luck, and now I've just tried restoring it using iTunes, but the restore process says it will take 25 HOURS! ..After about five minutes, and while still connected to iTunes, my phone started going back through the red screen loop and the restore looks like it won't do anything. Please help! I tried to contact apple live chat again, but conveniently it's not available at this moment...
    Cheers,
    Matt

yes, just to say a big thank you to Apple ...realizing today while browsing these forums that I haven't been the only one. Happened to me when I updated from 8.1.2 to 8.1.3 OTA... device (iPhone 4s) stuck in recovery mode ... how nice, this has never ever happened to me after years of using iOS, whether I updated OTA or via iTunes, never. I was then delighted to experience the restore process ... wasted hours doing that thanks again ! (I have many apps and a big backup so...). Seriously, this is unacceptable.

  • My ipod nano 7th generation is stuck in a restore loop with a white screen. Now it won't turn on anymore. What to do?

My new Ipod Nano 7th generation is stuck in a restore loop. Here is what happened: I added music to it using the latest version of iTunes, the colored bar at the bottom of the summary tab in iTunes showed my that I added it and I disconnected it to listen to the music. As I turned it on, it told me that there is neither music nor pictures on it. So I connected it again to my computer and iTunes told me that I had to restore. Which I did following all the steps but it keep telling me that I need to restore it. After three times of restore it, I disconnected it from my PC and turned it off. Now it won't turn on anymore - even though the battery is fully charged - and when I connect it to iTunes, iTunes tell me "The iPod software updater could not be contacted. The server does not support this version of iTunes." Well, I just downloaded the newest version a couple of minutes ago from the apple website. My iPod stays black. What shall I do?

    Hi clarity,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You may want to first try removing and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes by following the steps in this article:

  • I have an ipod touch and I have an audiobook stuck in the screen. I have shut if off and resynced and can't get it to go away. Anyone know what to do next?

I have an Ipod touch and have an audiobook stuck in the screen. I have turned it off and also resynced and I can't get it to go away.

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • I have an Apple ID and trying to sign in for the 1st time on iTunes. When I do, I get the message: "This Apple ID has not been used with the iTunes Store. Please review your account information." When I do, I get stuck in the same loop and can't sign in!

I have an Apple ID and trying to sign in for the 1st time on iTunes. When I do, I get the message: "This Apple ID has not been used with the iTunes Store. Please review your account information." When I do, it brings me to the same AppleID login window, and I get stuck in the same loop. I never get to the following screen to enter my account info. What's going on?? This is MADDENING!

If you want to use it, click Review and check your account information.  Or you could contact the store support staff if you are concerned at http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html for further help.

  • When I touch the email icon there is a draft email stuck on the screen that won't go away if I delete or save it.  I've already tried deleting and resetting the email account which didn't work.  How do I get rid of it?

I have the new iPad 3 and every time I touch the email icon there is a draft message stuck on the screen that won't disappear even if I touch save or delete.  I've tried removing the email account and putting it back on which didn't work either.  How do I get this draft to disappear?

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Or Quit the mail app.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button.
Go back to mail and see if it is fixed.

  • Igxprd 32, device driver stuck in an infinite loop

Just attempted to reset a hard drive on our T61 to its factory settings (Windows XP) using the "Recovery CD Set"  (rescue and recovery cd, supplemental product recover cd, and 6 product recovery cd's).  During the final step, the computer reboots itself; however, Windows can't load.  I keep getting an error on a small blue screen, referencing a problem with "igxprd32" and that the device driver got stuck in an infinite loop.  How can I fix this issue.  (Product ID 6465CT0)  Thank you!

Kindly try to boot the system into Safe mode and then uninstall the display driver.
After this you should able too boot the system into normal mode. Download the latest driver from lenovo website

  • Lenovo g510 stuck in logo screen

this laptop was purchase one year ago,
It stuck in the repair loop twice but it was fine after refreshing the pc.
few days ago, when i started the pc
, it just stuck in the logo screen and not even loading into windows.
what is the possible problem and any solution?
    thanks

If you can not get the system to boot, either using power button or OKR button (smaller, with upside down V) successfully, this may be a hard disk drive issue that has compromised the boot records.  The key here is that the system repair kicked in twice.
If you have a second computer with a USB hard disk drive dock (for normal and notebook drives) you may be able to remove the disk drive from your notebook and retrive your user data from it via the USB dock.
    Good luck.

  • Server 2012 R2 Essentials stuck in Automatic repair loop on every reboot

We are running Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials on a brand new Dell PowerEdge T110. Nothing new has been installed or are we running any special software. This server is a doing DHCP, Domain Controller and DNS. It is also intergrating the Office365.
I am assuming a windows update did this but i cannot pinpoint when exactly this happened and which update since it was a couple months ago. But everytime we try to reboot this server it goes to that Windows 2012 repair screen and asks us if we want to troubleshoot.
I am able to break this loop by going into safe more and then rebooting but this doesnt fix it, it only allows us to then boot windows normally once after that. But this can only be done when we are onsite and not remotely so we havent rebooted this server
or ran new windows updates in quite some time.
Any help or input would be appreciated.
    Thank You

  • While using gmail a message appears asking to Increase Database Size? No message is stuck on my screen.  Why?

While using gmail on my ipad a message appears "Increase Database Size?".  After pressing cancel the message is stuck on my screen.
How do I get rid of the message so I can access my mail?

Here's a fix just in case other users have this problem and still sticks around:
In your passbook app- choose the Belly "Card." Tap the "i" icon on the bottom right corner and turn off the notification sliders. Passbook seems to go over the general notifications and just makes it's own rules in this regard.

  • HELP! My iPod Touch 4g is stuck in a restore loop!

    Help!
My iPod touch 4g is stuck in a restore loop and I dont know why! Its jailbroken and i got fed up of it so i decided to restore it. It didnt work. It came up with error 21 and then i tried to restore it in dfu mode and it came up with error 1600. I took it into the apple store and they said they would have to make an appointment to try it... I dont really want to do that becuase i cant live without it!
I have tried everything to get it out! Rec boot, iReb and redsn0w and its not working
My iPod is 4 years old by the way
    Also im a mac user
If somone out there could be an absolute star and help me with it i would be insanely grateful!

    You can try 2 things:
Restart your iPod by - Holding the Power and Home buttons until you see the Apple logo.
Put your iPod in DFU and restore - Hold the Power and Home until the screen goes black, wait about 2 seconds, release the power button but keep holding the home for 15 seconds, then on iTunes, Restore and Update.

  • Can't login, infinite blue screen loop

I am trying to help my boss, whose daughters MBP is stuck in an infinite loop when trying to boot into OSX (it's a dualboot with Windows 7).
The machine is running 10.6.2 with Boot Camp 3.2.
When I boot it normally, I get to the blue loading screen, where it flashes between to different blue screens in an infinite loop.
Booting into verbose mode doesn't show any obvious errors in the boot messages, and then gets to an infinite loop between a blue screen, and a black screen with a block cursor.
I am able to boot into single user mode, where I ran fsck -fy, but this turned up no errors.
I can boot into Windows fine, and there seems to be no hardware issues (ie Device Manager seems happy with no errors). To be extra sure, I ran CHKDSK, which reported no problems (and took a couple of hours to complete).
While in Windows I was able to view the HFS partition (not sure if Windows 7 can read HFS, or if a third party driver was installed).
As I don't have a recovery disk I haven't been able to verify the permissions, which I suspect could be a cause for the issue.
Does anyone have a suggestion or any insights?

How bout holding down the option key?
Then select the drive in question.
Oh wait... You must have tried that.
Sounds like if you're able to see the HFS volume then at some point someone must have installed a utility to do so.
That said, is it possible that there are files that have been moved or misplaced?
