No, but there are other programs for sale that offer IM capability. Do a search for Mundu Interoperable messenger, or IM+ for Palm.

Using wifi/and watching video 2 +hours

My I touch is fantastic... no problems . but I am curious about battery life. If I use wifi and u tube I only get about 2 maybe 2 1/2 hours is that normal . I thought we were suppose to get 4 hours .. not end of world . what do you think thanks monztur

just having wifi on drains the battery very fast, but if your surfing the internet even faster and on youtube very fast because you are using the wifi and video (both consume alot of power)
as the ipod is expected to run for 5 hours with video, wifi uses about the same so 3 continuous hours of internet is bound to drain it.

Bugs in FMS 2.0 and live video?

Hi all,
I have heard rumors of a bug in FMS 2.0 when streaming live
video on a large scale. Can anyone elaborate on this?
I have also heard there is an FMS 2.5 release that contains
fixes but it is currently only available to CDNs. Is this true?
Should I be concerned about deploying a large-scale live
video app on FMS 2.0?

It was explained to me by another member that the main
limitation is that FMS can support at most 500 simultaneous live
connections, but he did not elaborate.
And my Adobe sales rep told me that v2.5 is NOT available to
the general public.

script for that. i think the main.far in the licve directory will
do the job. but i need main.asc file. Please help me

You need FMS license in the first place if you want to change
the main.far to main.asc

DC111 - XBMC WIFI and Audio,Video drop outs

Hi
I'm using Linux XBMC on DC111. I found some issue when I'm playing movie, form time to time I have audio and video drop outs, but it's only appears when the WiFi card is on. But when I disable the WiFi by software (rfkill) the drop out disappeared. I found this one solution on web but there wasn't any explanation. Any suggestion it's hardware or software problem?

Powerpoint and live video

Hi all,
What I am doing is a powerpoint of old videos and pictures to be shown on a TV during the performance of a show. What I have now been tasked with, within this powerpoint they want a video camera live view of the show to be included.
Now I have looked at Windows Media Encoder, but my Video capture card isnt compatible.
So i looked at Flash media live encoder, but I have no idea where to start, so can someone please help me stream my video camera through my usb video capture card to powerpoint using Flash media Encoder. My video capture card box is a HT VIDBOX NW06 by honetech.

The recommended way to share video clips in Lync 2013 is to use PowerPoint 2013 presentations. Playing video via PowerPoint in Lync 2013 has been used very successfully in many meetings.
But if you don’t want to play the video in that way, I’m afraid you have to look for the third-party solutions.

Sound Channels and Live Video Feeds

I spent the better part of the afternoon researching this one
and have come up empty handed. The app I am designing displays two
live webcam streams from an FMS. What I want to do is control the
audio from each stream so that camera1's audio plays in the left
speaker only and camera2's audio plays in the right speaker only. I
know this is done via soundchannels and soundTransforms, but how do
you associate a soundChannel with the audio from a live webcam
stream? All of the documentation I have read illustrates how to
associate a soundChannel with a static mp3 file. ie:

have been able to do is successfully control the volume with a
soundTransform, but I can't seem to do anything with pan and I
think it is because I am lacking the knowledge concern creating a
soundChannel to control a live webcam stream:

Live video distribution using CDN

I am planning a ACNS/CDN deployment that will based around web-caching, prepos content, VOD's and Live Video distribution for town hall meetings to Corporate sites.
I have completed the ACNS training and have a good picture of what I am going to be doing. The only real concern I have surrounds the distribution of VOD's and the Live streaming to potentially thousands of clients at each corporate site.
My plan was to allow content acquistion (for VOD's and Live Broadcasts) across the WAN using Unicast streams to each of the WAE edge devices (Easy stuff). For the distribution to the LAN (which could be 500+ users) I figured I would enable Multicasting (IGMP snooping, not so easy?) I have never worked with Multicast but have assosciates who have, should i expect performance hits to the LAN? or is this the recommended form of distribution?
I have purchased the proper licenses to accomplish this but before I move forward with this strategy I thought I would check here to see if anyone has done a deployment like this, I would love to hear some feedback both postive and negative.
The CDN will consist of two tiers, with the top level sites having WAE-7326's and WAE-612's at the second tier. All sites have an average of 10Mbs links with ISR enabled routers and a collapsed backbone design in the core.

You can't override the physical camera and substitute the macbook camera.
You could find an app or write one that would have the macbook stream the video over wifi from the macbook to the iPad.

Can stream movies; cannot stream live video to Apple TV

Hi all,
I have a new Apple TV and a 3rd generation iPad. I can stream movies to the Apple TV, but I can't stream live video (through Camera app), nor can I stream or mirror presentations from Keynote. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?

Nevermind- figured it out. Streaming movies does not require you to activate mirroring. Presenting Keynote presentations and live video DOES! Duh....

Can I stream live video from mobile to fms using flashlite?
I Know flash lite 4 also not access the mobile camera. But, I need to develop a application it captures the mobile camera and stream the vedio to fms server and display the live event to other mobile users.
Is it possible?
If possible what are the technologies i can use?

i have made a few test with Flash Lite 3.0 and Flash Media Server 3 and I have to say that it is pretty easy to stream FLV Video files and Live Video from local web camera to mobile phone. Here are a quick instructions how to do it in Windows (I will publish Linux version later).
Play FLV-video from Flash Media Server 3:
Install Flash Media Server 3 (download developer version)
There are a few sample FLV files in applications/vod/media folder, so you can use one of them for testing
Create a new Flash Lite 3.0 file in Flash
Add a new Video symbol to library
Drag this Video symbol to Stage and give instance name to it: video
Type following programming to timeline:

My wife and I want to sync/share videos

My wife and each have a computer, + iPhone + iPad + AppleTV of course. We'd like to share videos, but we are finding it next to impossible. If I have a movie on my system, I can sync it to AppleTV, but she can't sync her movies. Most of these are either rips of DVDs she has (Friends episodes) or lots of home movies I've created, or home movies she's done of our son. The problem is that she creates a movie, and she can't sync it, which means she needs to send it to me, and then I need to sync it, which is just twenty steps too much, as we now have a bunch of copies of the movie. Couple this with music, pictures, and everything else. Then, we have to deal with moving them to the iPad if we want to bring it with us.
We have the AppleTV, which we though would be a nice central hub of media that we could save to, and take from, but apparently you can't do this by default. AppleTV is for one person homes?
So, here is what we'd like to do, easily.
My wife and I have media we'd like to play on our TV at times via AppleTV. We'd also like to be able to put this media on our iPhones/iPad and take it with us. How can we do this? It's really simple what we want, and we can't fathom how it can be difficult at all to do this, when we can easily share a video with friends and family on Facebook.

Media known to the iTunes database can be stored in the actual iTunes media folder, or on any attached internal/external drives or network drives.
The setting I mentioned in iTunes determines what happens when you add a new file to iTunes - either a copy is made in teh iTunes media folder, or the itunes database just remembers it's current location without copying - so long as the location is accessible eg network/usb drive you could then sync to a device like AppleTV/iPad etc without having a copy in your itunes media folder.
We could then sync to AppleTV, iPhone, iPad, etc? And from what I remember, we could also sync to the devices what we want via the syncing control panel.

If this is true, I like this idea. We could do our own personal stuff on our computer, prepare everything, and then save it to a central library we could still access. Then, sync our devices from that one central repository.
This to me seems the logical option.
Could you recommend an easy to use, large, network capable storage device that could be used for such a system?
I don't have one myself (we have several computers but I tend to handle all the media on my Mac Pro with lots of attached internal/USB/FW drives), but you have numerous options including Time Capsule from Apple that goes up to 2TB - be sure to check user reviews for these devices at places like Amazon to get a heads up on any potential issues.
The only issue with network storage is that of it being potentially (usually) slower than directly attached drives/internal drives, but this will depend on your actual network setup/speed/connection types and whether or not there's lots of concurrent traffic. Even a slow network will sync but if it's very slow streaming might not be as smooth as it might be.

I updated my LG G3 this week and now it SUCKS! When I'm connected to WIFI, nothing on Facebook works. The photos and videos won't populate. I have to turn off the WIFI and only use the mobile data. Not to mention, I really hate the way it looks now.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
