Tungsten E2: WiFi card "not supported"

I recently updated my Tungsten E2 with the most recent version of the WiFi software from the Palm Website.  No problems with installation, but turning the WiFi on in my settings menu gives me an error message stating "The card in the SIDO slot is not a palmOne supported WiFi card."  Pretty sure the card is a Palm card.  Any ideas out there?  I noticed a similar thread asking this question, but it was about 3 years ago, and no answers were received other than a suggestion to do a soft reset, which I did without success.
Thanks in advance for the help!!
Post relates to: Tungsten E2

I haven't read the instructions for installing the updated Wi-Fi card driver, but did you delete the old one first before installing the new one?
What I'd try next (only once you have a current backup via Hotsync) is a Hard Reset.  BEFORE you Hotsync your stuff back to the E2, go through the diagnostic process of renaming the Backup folder on your desktop...this will allow your regular PIM data to return, but nothing else.  Your Backup folder is located on this path:
(using Palm Desktop 4.x):
c > program files > palm (or palmone) > [your device folder, usually an abbreviation of your Palm's name, or perhaps a combination of your initials, etc.] > backup
(using Palm Desktop 6.2.2):
my documents > palm OS desktop > [your device folder] > backup
After you do this, go ahead and Hotsync.  Then, reinstall ONLY the new Wi-Fi card driver.  You should be able to just double-click on the .prc file from the renamed "backupold" folder.  If it works, then reinstall your other apps one at a time.  If it doesn't, then I dunno...maybe root around for the original driver and reinstall that?  If you don't have the original disc, maybe you'll find it in the Backup or the Archive folder on your desktop.
Good luck, let us know how it goes.

  • Sim card not supported after unlock iphone 5c

iphone 5c, 12.7 GB, version 8.1.1, after unlocking when i connect it to itunes w/ other sim, sim card not supported error registered,. i check it to IMEI and its unlock, but why icant use it? I try to restore to itunes and erase my iphone nothing works, what can i do?

How was the phone unlocked?  Was it unlocked by your previous carrier?  The only way to unlock your phone is to have your previous carrier unlock it for you.
If you phone was unlocked in any other way, this constitutes hacking or jailbreaking and your phone will not work with another sim card.
Get the phone unlocked properly by your carrier and there is no reason why it should not work.

I phone blocked! Sim card not supported!
Recently bought an Iphone here in the Republic of Congo for about $600 and it was working fine until an update on Itunes. Now the phone just shows a USB cable and I tunes logo. When I connect the phone to Itunes it wants to restore and update, but then just blocks the phone again.

Who did you by the phone from? Apple? A telecom company? Ebay?
The phone was most likely jailbroken and unlocked. Applying the latest firmware updated undid that.

i installed new 6.0.1 os it is done succesfully but after that insterted my sim it is showing sim card not supported any one plz help me

That message occurs when updating a phone that was hacked to be used with your network.  Upgrading the phone has re-locked it to it's rightful carrier.  You will need a SIM from the original carrier to proceed.

  • New Wifi NIC card not supported

So I have a DV4 4141us and I wanted to upgrade the wifi card to something that supports AC. So I bought an Intel AC wifi card that people said gave them good speeds. It was cheap and that makes me happy. I go to install it and Im getting an error 702. Im thinking maybe a BIOS update will help me out but all the changelog says about that is better memory management. Im wanting to know if there is a way I can install this bad boy wifi card. I would really hate to think Im screwed out of 802.11AC support. The model of the NIC is 7260HMW. Thanks.

Some people have had success with that module on some notebooks and many have not.
Did you install the driver from Intel?
Check the BIOS mod websites.  You may be able to get a modified BIOS that suports the WIFIO module if you are willing to forgo your notebook's warranty to try to use the WIFI module.
Don't forget that once you go down the modified BIOS route you are on your own.  You will have accepted complete responsibility for possibly making a brick out of your notebook by installing and using modified firmware.

  • Wifi card not recognized after reboot.

I've got a Lenovo X140e and an Intel wifi card. (Intel Corporation Wireless-N 7260) that I installed myself, since the support for the Broadcom card it came with was spotty.
If I reboot my laptop, the card won't show up with either iwconfig or even lspci. If I do a cold reboot (power down entirely and start back up), it will show up just fine.
    What gives?
    Relevant lspci output:
01:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev 4b)
            Subsystem: Intel Corporation Wireless-N 7260
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 38
            Memory at f1300000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]
            Capabilities: <access denied>
            Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi
            Kernel modules: iwlwifi

When the card is recognized, rfkill lists it as unblocked; when it's not recognized, it doesn't show up at all.
I've got i3 installed; for connection management I've been sort of trying different things - netctl never works but wifi-menu has been pretty reliable. I haven't installed any special power management stuff at all - I'm not really sure how to find out what was auto-installed?

  • Buffalo wifi card not useable

I purchased a Buffalo WLI-CB-G54A card for use with my 15" Apple PowerBook G4, 1.67 GHz with built in Airport Extreme for better range and the ability to use an external antenna. The pcmcia card states it's supported natively with AirPort 3.1 drivers and up. It uses the Broadcom chipset.
The problem comes when I plug it in. If I plugged it in before startup it will kernal panic and crash at the gray startup screen. If I plug it in after the system is up the two green LEDs glow faintly but the AirPort menu lists the networks visible on the built in airport. I can't figure out how to "switch" off the built in and instead use this new one.
How is a third-party wifi card used on a powerbook w/ built in wifi already?

I have NEVER been able to use a PC Card wireless adapter successfully in my PowerBook G4 1.25GHz not to mention I get exactly the same behaviour as you, kernel panics and all.
What seems to be the problem is that Mac OS X sees the Broadcom based card as another Airport card. Coupled with the fact that it won't let you use two Airport card concurrently it will sit there and do nothing.
The only solution that I have found to this is to remove the internal Airport card. Fortunately or me I have access to the card but I believe this is not possible with the 1.67GHz model.
Alternatively you can try using a card that does NOT use the Broadcom chipset so that it is not recognised as an Airport card. Obviously you would then need drivers to make the card work.

  • Wifi card not working properly

I purchased an hp Envy in October 2014. The wifi card no longer functions properly.  Connections are intermittent or so slow they don't function.  Is this defect covered by warranty?  The wifi card is Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11
As long as I'm hard wired, I have no internet connection issues. But dysfunctional wifi limits mobility and eliminates one of the primary features that I relied on in making the purchase choice.  What is the solution?

  • SIM card not supported

Hi, i forgot my passcode for my iphone 4 and restored the phone to factory settings and it updated itself to ios5, but now the phone says that the sim card is not supported. what should i do? I've tried with other sim cards and got the same error. Now the phone cannot be activated

Ok, here we go with a solution from the Official Apple Website. Test it after each step.
Reseat the SIM card: Remove the SIM card in your iPhone and then reinsert it.
Restore your iPhone. Note that the computer you are using to restore the iPhone needs to be connected to the Internet. You can verify the connection by loading the first page of the iTunes Store.
Contact your carrier to verify that the unlock was applied in their system.

  • Lenovo yoga 213 wifi card not working in the new laptop

I purchaed lenovo yoga 213 from Best Buy Boston and have brought to India. From the day one,the Bluetooth and Wifi is not working. On taking to their authorised service centr-Hitech technologies they have tried to replace the wifi card but even they are not able to solve the problem.I am trying to contact Lenovo for replacement of Laptop, but there is no response from them. What should I do?

Lenovo service centre has done all these after getting a replacement card
from Lenovo and again they have reported that the wifi replacement card
recieved is defective ,so they have asked for 2 nd time replacement of
wificard as well as the touchpad which they say carries the antenna for
wifi. The bottom line is i am tired of running around to service centre and
have not been able to use the laptop from the time i have bought the
laptop.I thought if there is a manufacturing defect lenovo, being a reputed
    brand will replace the laptop.

  • Wifi card not connected after kernel update [solved]

    Hi,
I've got a broadcom wifi card (BCM43225). Having deconnections with the brcmsmac driver, I changed for wl (from broadcom archive).
Today I updated the system and got the b43 driver. My wifi card would'nt see any network. On the networkmanager applet (gnome 3), tab "network parameters", it says "disconnected" and i can't find a way of reconnect my card.
I rebuilt the wl driver, it works as for the b43 (wifi card on) but still it's disconnected.
    Extract of dmesg shows:
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
    Any idea ?
    Thanks

It's weird: I had already installed b43 firmware from AUR but it didn't work (kernel 3.0). As I yaourted b43-firmware it said: "reinstall ?".
So I reinstalled and it f***ing works.
I'm not sure I got what happened...
    Thank you though.

  • SIM card not supported after upgrade OS

I bought iPhone in Hongkong & use it in Jakarta. Originally iPhone worked well with SIM card of Telkomsel/XL, but few days ago I downloaded & installed upgraded OS ver 1.1.4.7 from internet and the result is my iPhone cannot work since the SIM Card is not supported anymore. pls help me resolve this.
    Djend

All the iPhones sold in Hong Kong are hacked. Once you done the Restore, it would loss the unlock SIM function.
Hope the iPhones can officically launched early in Asia.

  • 3GS iOS4.1 new sim card not supported

Hi guys, I own a PAYG iPhone that was bought direct from apple. I have been using it on O2 for the last year but I have just signed up for a Vodafone contract. I received my new sim card and put it in, it now goes to the emergancy calls pages and itunes says that the sim card is not supported.
The phone has never been jailbroken or anything in anyway. I have tried restoring the phone and this has made no difference.
Tried the sim in another phone and it worked fine.
    Any ideas?

    Doesn't sound like it.
I would contact O2 to determine if your pay-as-you-go iPhone that was used with O2 over the last year is carrier locked with O2. If the iPhone is carrier locked with O2, it will be up to O2 to unlock the iPhone.
If you specially requested an unlocked iPhone when purchased from the Apple store which is the most expensive, you need to contact the Apple store.

  • SIM card not supported for the 2nd time

My initial iphone 4 was broken beyond repair, under warranty I forked out the cash to receive a replacement. A replacement which told me my sim was not supported - receiving a replacement micro SIM from my carrier it STILL DID NOT WORK. I sent my replacement away, and received a replacement for my replacement. SIM card still not supported. SIM works fine with any other iphone 4, i've tested it on several other computers and completed full restore. Is it just me or does Apple seem to be trolling me?

I bought an iphone from o2 yesterday and got the micro sim activated today, inserted it and itunes says the sim carrier is not supported :S yet the phone is from o2 and so is the sim! And the sim works fine in a normal o2 phone when inserted with the bigger tray.
I have taken it out and put it in again but no luck! I rang o2 and they said they are sending me a replacement micro sim but i have read about the problem being in the phone (well at least it was in the 3gs)!
I'm so gutted - owned an iphone for 24 hours without using it think im going to o2 and then the apple shop tomorrow! Not at all happy...
