Tungsten T3/Windows 7 Synching in 2014

I've seen a number of posts regarding Synching a Palm Tungsten T3 under Windows 7 Professional, but they are incomplete or outdated, or do not fit my situation. I have Palm OS on my Windows 7 Computer, but had to repair my T3, which now has no data on it. My Windows 7 Palm application is loaded with hundreds of contacts which I don't want to lose, but want to load onto my Tungsten T3. Any and all suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.  And, by the way, is this the correct board to post this question?

If you were successfully Hotsyncing the T3 with this same computer, and no changes other than a repaired handheld, it should offer you to sync with your existing Hotsync ID the first time you connect.
But also wise to be cautious.  Set the Hotsync conduits to Desktop Overwrites Handheld before you sync.  Also make a copy of your Palm folders structure and contents and place the copy in a ditterent location.  Then if something goes wonky when you sync, you will have a copy.
Good luck, let us know how it goes.

  • IPhone and Windows 7 synch

For months I synched 4 iPhones with iTunes on Vista on a Dell Vostro 1500. Then I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate in October and have had problems since.
Now the iPhone is never found by Windows (no iPhone digital camera icon in the Computer window).
The usbaapl.sys driver always installs and shows up in device manager as Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.
Sometimes the iPhone does show up as a device inside of iTunes. Sometimes then the 3GS iPhone can be synched in iTunes.
Sometimes the iPhone doesn’t show up as a device in iTunes and sometimes when it does, the synch fails.
Always, when I eject the iPhone from iTunes, Windows 7 tries to compete the installation of the iPhone as a camera USB device and the installation fails. The message is ‘device driver software was not directly installed. MTP USB Device. Device Unplugged.’
    Thanks for any help.

    Thanks all!
This problem is solved after spending many hours with Microsoft, Apple and Dell folks.
Now, all iPhones are recognized as a digital camera when connected and the AutoPlay window opens up. This allows for the transfer of pictures to a different folder.
Also, now my iPhone 3GS and three iPhone 2Gs all synch correctly with iTunes Windows 7.
The synching is no longer random, sometimes working and sometimes not. I am no longer told by Windows 7 after I disconnect the cable that the MTB USB device wasn’t installed and the installation failed.
What was the problem? Pictures! Pictures that had been saved (as opposed to having been taken by the iPhones) into the Camera Roll folder on the iPhones prior to the last iPhone software update. After these old saved pictures were removed, everything works fine. I ended up e-mailing them to myself and then deleting them. I don’t know if it is some or all of these pictures.
New saved pictures (after Windows 7 and iPhone version 3.1.2) don’t cause the problem and synch just fine.
I will post this in Microsoft Forums, Dell Forums and iPhone Forums (at Apple, the picture problem is known, but not that it interacts the way it does with Windows 7 so they need to escalate a fix).
This was in no way a Dell problem. That is a red herring.
    Thanks,

  • Playlists don't appear in iTunes Playlist selection window when synching

I just updated to iTunes 9.0 (big mistake) and discovered that many of my playlists do not appear in the playlist selection window when I synch my iPod nano 2.0. Even playlists that I created after upgrading to 9.0 don't appear. I have more playlists than I can load onto my iPod, so I need to be able to select which playlists to synch. Since many don't even appear in the selection window, I can't put them on my iPod. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
BTW, I have already gone through the Five R's, which did nothing to help.

Personally I use Subler to tag all these shows and then send them to Itunes. In subler you have the option of setting the Media Type and also the HD option of 720 or 1080p if applicable. Save it then use the file, Send to itunes and they show up in the right place.

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Support Community.
The Tungsten E is not technically compatible with Palm Desktop 6.2.2 as-is.  You should install the free utility from www.pimlicosoftware.com called PalmHotsyncSetup which adds PD 6.2.2 compatibility to older Palm OS devices such as yours.  Go to the web site and scroll all the way down to the bottom where you will see a link to download it.
Also, you'll want to make sure the correct Hotsync ID is showing in Palm Desktop.
(BTW, this is also covered in the "stickied" thread near the top of this board, about syncing with Windows 7 and Vista computers.)

    Hi
I'm new to muse but I'm a front end developer and I wanted to see if muse could speed up workflow when creating some of our one off landing pages.  I'm trying to add a list to a text area and all the tutorials point to opening Window > bullet but I do not have bullet on my window menu.  How could this be?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
Release version v7.4 Build 30, CL 784238 is not the latest version and also its not Muse CC 2014.3 version.
As you are launching an old version of Muse you will not get the option for bullets under windows.
Please make sure you are launching Muse CC2014.3. To ensure that Please launch Creative Cloud Application > go to apps tab and Launch Muse CC 2014.3 from there.
If its not upto date please make sure to Update it.

    Post relates to: Tungsten T5

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
The Palm site says Palm Desktop 4.1.4e.  But the Quick Install tool won't work under Vista.  You need to go with Palm Desktop 6.2 which is "officially" not compatible with the T5, then go to www.pimlicosoftware.com to download the free PalmHotsyncSetup utility.
Note, if your Vista is 64-bit you won't be able to sync via USB cable as there are no 64-bit drivers.  You are then limited to Bluetooth or Infrared Beam sync.

  • Tungsten T2 - Windows 7

I have kept my old Tungsten T2 for use as a Rolodex.  I have a new Dell Latitude E6510 and am unable to synch it up to the T2.  Surely there are clever people out there who have long since figured this one out?  Thanks.  mlb2010

The two often suggested fixes are to right-click on the shortcut for Palm Desktop, then choose "Run as Administrator".  The other was to turn off User Access Control (UAC).  Control Panel/Users/Turn off UAC.
I would also suggest you read the sticky post at the top of this section entitled "64bit Palm Desktop drivers are here" since it appears you are using some old instructions.  It is quite possible to sync via USB cable to 64 bit machines now.

  • Tungsten T3/Windows 7

I have a Tungsten T3 and recently switched my main computer to a Windows 7 platform.  I can load PalmOne but it does not load the Sync Manager to the T3.
Anyone have any ideas (I couldn't find a patch/driver at the support site.)
    Post relates to: Tungsten T3

A likely reason for your problem is you are using a 64bit version of windows 7. Palm and Access the people who wrote much of there software, never cared to write a 64bit driver for the palm desktop. Aceeca a Garnet devise developer wrote a 64bit windows driver so there devises would work on windows 64bit systems and offered it free of charge to the palm community a little over a month ago. The driver and install directions are available in the posted link. Just keep your T3 plugged into the usb cable during the driver installation process so you can find it in devise manager. It is not an executable file so you need to follow the directions given.  Windows 64bit driver for Palm

  • Windows Server 2008 CVE-2014-8730 vulnerability

We've received our monthly vulnerability scan results on our production servers running Windows Server 2008 R2.
They are showing vulnerability to TSL POODLE, which is the subject of CVE-2014-8730.
In this article on Qualys, there is mention that Windows Server 2008 is vulnerable but Microsoft have not taken any action yet:
    https://community.qualys.com/blogs/securitylabs/2014/12/08/poodle-bites-tls
Microsoft - We've seen reports that some older platforms (e.g., Windows 2008) appear vulnerable, but no apparent patterns or reliable information so far.
Is there any update on this issue as it's an exploitable vulnerability we would like to remediate.
    Thanks,
    Lyndon.

    Hi Vivian,
The article cited is about a different issue.
In October 2014 there was an SSL v3 POODLE vulnerability, we have resolved this issue by disabling SSL v3 (as recommended).
The article your posted specifically references that issue (the article was published in October 2014).
In December 2014 there was another POODLE vulnerability announced that affected the TLS protocol.
A lot of major vendors have published patches for this issue, but Microsoft are yet do do so (as far as I know).
Hence by original question that has not been answered yet.
    Regards,
    Lyndon.
