Tungsten T3 with PalmOne WiFi Card & Email

I recently bought the PalmOne Wi-Fi card for my T3.  I managed to connect to my home network which is a  Linksys WRT54G, and did connect with the internet.  Now I'm trying to manage my email account with the T3.  It is programmed in order to email from the T3 through cradle synchronization and works fine.  I unchecked that part and believe I've got everything set.  However I keep getting the following message:  "ERR [AUTH] invalid user/password".
So the first question is; Can email be sent from the T3 with a WiFi card?  If so, what am I missing.  Thanks in advance.  Frans

After checking everything over, I tried to send mail from my desktop to see if I could receive mail on my T3.  That worked fine.  I could not send a reply back.  Here are my settings in the T3.
Under account setup:
Mail Service:  Other
Protocol:  POP
Synchronize Only Account:  Unchecked
Username:  Complete Email Address
Password:  Assigned
Incoming Mail Server:  pop.att.yahoo.com
Outgoing Mail Server:  smtp.att.yahoo.com
Under Incoming Mail Options
"Get unread mail ONLY:  Checked
"Delete Messages on the server when they are deleted in VersaMail:  Unchecked
"Leave mail on server (e.g. to view on the desktop later.):  Checked
Port Number:  995
"Use Secure Connection (SSL):  Checked
Maximum Message Size:  10 KB
Under "Advanced Outgoing Options
Port Number:  465
"My server requires authentication (ESMTP):  Checked
Username:  Complete email address
Password:  Assigned
Under Preferences  (General Tab)
GET "Subject Only"
Ask Every Time:  Checked
Confirm Deletions:  Checked
Delete Msgs on Server:  Unchecked
Download Attachments:  Checked
Preferences (Advanced Tab)
Enable Smart Addressing:  Checked
Auto-Empty Mail from Trash:  Checked
Timeout:  30 Secs
Auto disconnect:  Unchecked
Disconnect on Exit:  Checked
Modem Wait:  0 secs
Preferences (System Tab)
Backup ALL Databases:  Checked
So with these setting, the end tab I get is "Connecting  to SMTP server", whci stays for approximately 30 seconds.  After that it states it was unable to send this message.  No response from SMTP Server.
So I'm stuck from here-on.  Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks!  Frans

  • [SOLVED] kernel crash with PCI wifi card

    HI,
I id install and start to use arch just two weeks ago :-)
I was able to solve problems until now.
I am not sure if this is problem of arch kernel, maybe it will be general.
I did insert PCI wifi card to my PC with arch. Card is Z-COM XI-626 : LAST LINE:

okay, I did blacklist hostap_pci, I did find out that with orinoco_pci module it is more stable
    BUT
sometimes it hang up with same error message

  • Satellite A110 - WiFi switch is not working with new WiFi card

    Hello Everyone
I have a problem with my Toshiba Notebook Satellite A110-178 (PSAB0E). I replaced the original WIFI card Intel 3945abg with Intel Link 5100 and on the new wifi card wifi hardware switch is not working.
New wifi card is discovered and drivers working correct but when I try to scan for wifi networks with IntelPro/Wireless software I have message to turn on hardware switch but it's turn on and not work. On old wifi card swich is working correct - orange light is on. On new card light is off and swich is not working.
    Please help

    Hi
    Maybe you could enable the Wlan card using different way;
Go to device manager -> WLan card properties -> Advanced tab
There you could check if there is a option which would enables the WLan.
    Its worth a try
Otherwise its a compatibility issue like suggested by PinkPanther
I read in different threads that this could happens if there is a different pin assignment on miniPCI WLan card and this could not match with the miniPCI slot on the mobo...

  • I think my XFi card is interfering with my WIFI card on my ASUS A8N-E m

    Both in PCI slots.
When both are installed, wifi card randomly stops working and locks up my computer frequently and randomly for about half a second. The connection isn't slow, it just stops working for short periods of time. The same short process load spike occurs when I disable the wireless manually.
I moved my X-Fi card to a different slot and the same problem occurs.
When I have both installed, and I disable wireless, the problem goes away.
Do you think this could be an IRQ problem?
    My set up:
    x900 XT
    gig Corsair RAM
    ASUS A8N-E 939
    AMD Athlong 64 3500+
    802.g wireless PCI card Airbus
    Windows XP
    (X-Fi extrememusic card)
    Please help!
BTW, I disabled onboard sound completely. Didn't solve a thing.
It HAS to be a problem with these conflicting or something. My computer only gets that process load spike when I disable the wireless in windows XP. It seems like windows is disabling wireless, enabling, disabling, enabling, etc.... with out letting me know. That would explain the connection loss and the CPU spikes. Why is this only happening when I have my X-Fi soundcard in? No drivers had been loaded for the X-Fi card when it was doing this.
This is what the IRQs look like.
    http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/3737/irqav2.jpg
My wireless is sharing with my videocard... which isn't causing a problem.
But when I put in the sound card, it has IRQ 0... which isn't sharing anything... so maybe this isn't an IRQ problem? Man... i am just so confused.
I spent the 4 hours reading online forums and stuff trying to figure this out. It seems nobody has the same problem as me.
    Please help!

Looks like your WIFI and your grafics are sharing IRQ 8.
The X-FI does not appear in that list.
Either way its not good that way. Try to use the WIFI in a different slot and see what happens.
    Good luck!

  • Time Capsule wired to PC with no wifi card.

So I'm a little confuzzled here, hopefully somebody can help me out.
I have a router in the basement that all of my devices (MacBook, iMac, etc.) connect to. I have a Time Capsule (2nd generation) in my room (two stories above) that I use to backup my data. I decided to bring my (old) PC to my room and unfortunately it doesn't have a wifi card (Dell Dimension 4700 from 2005 running Windows XP).
    Question:
I've tried connecting my Time Capsule (wirelessly connected to my router) to the Dell via ethernet but internet still doesn't seem to be working on my Dell.
I know the Time Capsule can be used as a wifi extender but if I have a wired connection to my Dell, shouldn't this work? If not, should/would I need to enable the wifi extension feature on my Time Capsule (not sure on how to do that)?

I think I follow.. as I also might be a little Confuzzled in the description.
The router in the basement .. Is it apple??
If not, the TC in your room cannot extend its wireless. But just to be clear, you don't have ethernet running basement to 2nd floor room??
In your room at the moment your Macs do not use ethernet to the TC? If that is the case then the TC is not extending wireless.. you are merely joining the TC to the main router.
    Find out for sure..
Open airport utility and go to the wireless tab.
This is how it looks when I join my TC to my non-apple router..
This mode has the follow effects..
    Ethernet is turned off.
Wireless AP is turned off. The TC is now merely a client.. it cannot wireless bridge to the PC.

  • Wrt54Gv5 and Palm T3/Palmone Wifi card

I finally decided to upgrade my router and bought the wrt54gv5. When I connected it yesterday, I found that I couldn't access it via LELA, but I did configure it manually. Today I've updated the firmware to the latest release and now can access it via LELA!
Anyway, my Palm reports no signal if I try to connect to the router in Infrastructure mode. In Ad-hoc mode, it connects fine and gets a random IP address and can't access the net (as one would expect).
As the Palm is my only wifi device, I don't know if the problem is with the Palm or the router. Any suggestions, other than buying a dongle for the laptop so it can also talk wifi?

yes, and double checked the keys on the two devices match. Also set up MAC screening and configured the router to only accept keyed devices.
The Palm only supports WEP, so any additional security is good! Turned off SES as well.

  • Does anyone know where I can get a palmone wifi card?

  • G6 Laptops are not upgradable with HP Wifi card

I am very displeased about having found that my new G6 does not allow new HP hardware.
I had taken the time to properly order a HP part and find that you cannot upgrade.
My HP part number is, 629887-001  Ralink RT3592 2x2 802.11n.
I can understand keeping foreign parts from other manufacturer, but this is a HP part that should be valid for upgrading.
I cannot believe such shoddy hardware limitations.

Please give me a trouble ticket for fixing this ASAP!

Please provide your NB model name number.  it is usually under bottom or under the battery bay.  I will try to find out if it is compatible with the module you purchased

  • WiFi Card with Tungsten EH

I just received a PalmOne WiFi card for my Tungsten E2 for Fathers Day and was trying to set it up. I have been very unsuccessful. I have internet capabilities at home and at the office on my PC. I have WiFi capabilities with my laptop at work which allows me to take it anywhere in the building and stay connect to our network and all our application. I do not have a media network plan for my cell phone, but it is capable, I just don't subscribe. Do I need to add the data plan from my service provider (AT&T Wireless) in order for my WiFi card to work/connect to the internet or can it connect to free WiFi networks on it's own?
    Post relates to: Palm Pilot

A cell plan has nothing to do with the Wifi card...
Have you viewed the help file at the top of the BlueTooth and Wifi section of the forum?  It explains the basic settings needed to connect.  I wrote it for the TX, but it's applicable to the Wifi card too.
Do you know the passwords and encryption settings at work?  Have you tried entering them into the Wifi card's settings?  Are they broadcasting in /b or mixed mode?
What isn't working at home?  Do you have your all your router's settings entered correctly into the E2?

  • Problems with build in wifi card in DV6-2190us.

Hi am trying to see if someone can help me out with a problem am having with my WIFI and also LAN on my laptop.
The problems am having is with connectivity and speed on WIFI and also problems connecting to a network with a Ethernet cable.
The problem am having with my wifi is when trying to connect to a network it takes me about 5 to 10 minutes just to try to connect to the network and once connected it will continue to say unidentified network and it will take 5 to 10 minutes to connect to the internet.  Once connected to the network and the internet the connection will start fast and slow down to a crawl even do am 10 to 20 feet away from the wireless router and I have full bars.  After the connection slows down I will get disconnected from the network and it will take me 10 to 20 minutes to get back on it.
Also when I try to connect to the network using a Ethernet cable I will get connected but if I unplug the cable and try to connected again I won't be able to connect to the network or the internet and I would have to restart the laptop with the cable plugged in.
All of the drivers on the laptop are up to date and also windows is up to date I really don't know what's going on.
I have formatted and installed Widows 7 done all of the updates I have also updated all of the drivers for the laptop but the problem continues to come up.
After talking to some of my IT friends we removed the build in wifi card from the inside of the laptop and changed it with a wifi card of a same model laptop to rule out problems with the card, but the problem continues to happen with the new card installed on the laptop.  The card that came out of the laptop with the wifi problems was installed to the second laptop and the wifi problems came up but after installing the original wifi card the problems went away.
The thing that trying to figure out is why the card that came out of the working laptop won't work correctly on the laptop that's having problem with.
If anyone has any ideas on what maybe causing the problems please reply to this post I really need to have this problem fix before I start taking online classes.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

  • Tungsten E2 and wi-fi card

As my icon shows, I am a newbie, and I have a very basic question about a wi-fi card. Is this something additional that I would have to purchase since I am striking out with the blue tooth option?
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

Hello SharonML, the Wifi card is another piece of hardware that you will have to purchase.  It is not inlcuded with an E2.
Unfortunately, Palm has discontinued selling the card, so you're limited to the areas of eBay and maybe amazon.com.
"striking out with the blue tooth option"???  What are you trying to do?

  • WiFi card makes initiating a connection on other cards very slow.

    Hi All -
    Java 5
Windows XP, 2000, and Adv. Server
We do programming for multiple closed networks, so my development box has 4 NICs, each going to a different isolated network (each has its own subnet).
All was well until recently we had some WiFi cards installed in our machines. Now initiating a socket connection on any NIC that is not on the same subnet as the default gateway takes a long time - about 30 seconds, but it can vary. Once the connection is made, its just as fast as ever, but creating the connection takes a lot of time.
The strange part is this: it doesn't matter if the Wifi card is even in use at all during the transaction, merely having it enabled as a card causes the problem. I have tried modifying my routing tables so that the only option is the correct one just to see if that makes a different - and it doesn't.
This problem is reproducible on Windows XP, 2000, 2003 server, on at least 5 completely different computers, and in Virtural PC. The only thing they all have in common is the same D-Link WiFi cards.
    Take this example:
NIC 1: 192.168.1.x -> default gateway is a 192 address, this is the card that connects to the internet. All connections are fine using this card.
NIC 2: 10.30.100.x -> Wifi card. This card is enabled but not being used for this transaction at all.
NIC 3: 128.0.0.x -> Normal card, any attempt to open a socket with the Wifi card enabled takes a long time.
NIC 4: 10.10.10.x -> Normal card, again, the Wifi card being enabled will slow down the opening of a socket.
This configuration is merely an example, I have tried changing which card services which subnet, what cards are enabled or disabled, more cards, less cards, multiple IPs per card, single IPs per card - nothing makes any difference either way except for enabling the Wifi card slows it down and disabling it solves the problem.
I've also disabled 'Wireless zero configuration' on advice from another network programmer - makes no difference either way. I've also tried binding to various specific local IPs, tried different servers to connect to (and different types of servers). and tried pretty much every constructor available for Socket. This did not change anything.
Anyone else experience this? Any more information I could provide to help solve the problem?
    Thanks!
    Jason

    edex67,
I'm new to wifi so the info you sent, i.e.; inSSIDer, is something I didn't know about. So thankX for that. Interference not part of the problem.  I did change channels from 11 to 5 as some of the neighbors are on 11 and 6.  That didn't help. 5 Ghz change doesn't help either.  Have reset to factory specs twice along with deleting my first network and beginning from scratch.  Still didn't speed things up.  ISP isn't a problem either.  Separate diagnostics shows download speeds great.  I've even restored my computer to a previous date when the Airport Express was screaming downloads. The slowdown happened yesterday as I was trying to set up my old computer; changed motherboards and can't access the internet, needed to find drivers on line and somehow in the process Airport slowed to a crawl.  Must have changed something and can't get back to the speed of yesterday morning.  Have been working on this since 8 AM. Did I mention that I hate Microsoft?
So, even restoring factory specs and installing from scratch doesn't get me back to speed.

  • Where is the WiFi card in a 2010 MacBook Pro 15' I5

So today i had turned on my 2010 MacBook Pro 2.53GHz Intel i5 15', to notice that the wifi bars are no longer there. I suspect there being an issue with the wifi card, but with this unit, i'm confused as to where it is. I have looked around on the internet and google images and some are in different place than others. I also heard from somewhere else online that it is a built in wifi card, if so where is that located? By the heat sink or is it the antenna looking cables? I'm desperate to get this thing fully functional as for i need it for school and work in the morning and my only source of internet is via wifi.

Well this unit was once water damaged and with significant time and dedication i brought this unit from the dead to life. So maybe this is one of the minor things that has finally given out, the water damage was a few months ago and it was working fine along that entire time, but tonight maybe it has given. Do you by chance know what the visible card is that is next to the heat sink but is not covered by it?

I'm curious about the Windows 10 users
    experience with different
    wifi cards.
This function working perfectly, all linux platform,Mac,already in android, the old windows XP,windows 2000,
it's a basicthing. This problem affects some reason only are newer Windows platforms and directly the wifi option.

well....it doesn't matter whether the MAC add is 00-14-BF-93-D2-66 or 00:14:BF:932:65 or any other format .. the most important thing is the hex decimal numbers are the same ... so not worry about it...
