Tungsten T5 HotSync issues

My Tungsten T5 will no longer do a HotSync operation.  I am pretty sure something happened during a Windows update back in December.  I have Windows XP Media Center and use a USB cable for the HotSynch operation.  I have gone through the trouble shooting guide and have downloaded the latest version of the HotSynch desktop manager but still nothing.  When I press the HotSynch button on the Palm, nothing happens.  My HotSync Manager is open; other devises are recognized via the USB port...HELP!
Post relates to: Palm TX

I performed the clean uninstall and it still will not synch.  I loaded the software from the CD.  I did finally get a message saying that New Hardware was found...I clicked on the balloon and let it find the software and received a message that the installation was complete and hardware was ready to use.  I went through the trouble shooting guide again...still nothing.  This is so frustrating because it is obvious that a Microsoft update is what caused this.  I have had this computer and T5 for 4 years and I have never had an issue with the XP Media edition working with the T5 until now.  Has anyone figured out how to fix this problem?!?!?!?!  I need my Palm for work...I am a real estate agent and use it for our I-Box keypad to enter homes.
THANKS for any help anyone may be able to offer.

  • Solving Centro hotsync issues without a hard reset

I have a Centro (sprint).  I am running Windows Vista.  I cannot connect with hotsync.  Whenever I try, I get the following message -- "The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established.  Please check your setup and try again."  I went through the article referenced at the beginning of this forum and performed all the suggestions (reloaded Palm desktop 6.2, the outlook 2007 update, soft restart, etc.).  I took it to a repair center and they stated the ONLY way to fix it was to do a hard reset which would lose all info.  Since I can't hotsync, I haven't been able to backup the phone which means I'll lose everything.  I'm hoping there are some other suggestions I could try.  It seems contrary that the only way to solve a hotsync issue and save your data is to do a hard reset and lose all your data.  Thanks.

Is your Vista 64 bit or 32 bit?
Try performing a warm reset of your device... Take out the battery press and hold the UP button insert the battery while holding the UP navigator button wait until you see set date and time then release the button. Connect the phone back to the PC and try perform a hotsync.

Do you have a 64bit version of Win7?  If so, go back to the Windows Hotsync section of this forum and read the thread titled "64bit Drivers are here!"
Unless you specifically want to use Bluetooth, using the USB cable would be much faster...

  • Can't find palm tungsten isync hotsync conduit in leopard

Attempting to sync my Palm Tungsten E2 with iCal & Address Book by USB but iSync can't set up when I attempt to Enable Palm Syncing. iSync Hotsync Conduit does not install and is not found on searching with Spotlight. Palm Hotsync works fine. Where is my software not configured properly?

Problem solved. I was logged into a User Account that did not have permissions to move the conduits to a new folder 'iSync Disabled Conduits'. Logging into the System Manager Account enabled this process to proceed and reverting back to the sub-account the configuring for Enable Palm Syncing process now completed.

  • Calendar hotsync issue

Have two email accounts in Outlook that also send messages onto my phone. When I hotsync the calendar to my phone it's fine (going from personal folder onto phone) but when I make an appointment on my phone, at the top of the screen it gives me either email address but not the default option that links to the Calendar in Outlook so any appointments I put onto my phone don't hotsync. I can see a default option on the phone when i go into the Options screen but when making the appointment, the option is not available. Any suggestions?

Hello suematthews and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you're experiencing synchronization issues with your BlackBerry and Outlook.
First of all, you can change your Default Calendar that makes the entries by going to Options>Advanced Options>Default Services or Options>Device>Advanced System Settings>Default Services (depending on your software version on your BlackBerry Curve 9300 smartphone). Where you see Calendar [CICAL] you can change this to the desired email account.
Once you have the desired default Calendar set, backup your data using BlackBerry Desktop Software. Since you have more than one calendar list, you will need to merge them to transfer the appointments made with the wrong email to the one you sync with.
Follow the steps in KB19240 How to merge multiple calendars into one calendar on the BlackBerry smartphone. Again, it is essential you back up your data as this will change the Calendar on your device.
Once the Calendars have been merged into the new default that you want to use, retry the sync.
Let me know how you make out.
    Thanks!

  • Simple HotSync issue, but outdated handheld

Windows XP, just updated software to 6, now my Tungsten W won't update. HotSync log says that the HotSync has finished successfully, but new date doesn't show up on the handheld. What's up with this? Palm won't support the old device, but it worked fine a week ago. Only difference is new software.

  • Tungsten t power issues

hi, a friend just gave me his tungsten t about 2 days ago and its been trouble since.
He said last he used it, (a few months ago) it worked and charged fine. He gave me the cradle and a 9v power supply. Well the device had no battery life of course so i stuck it on the cradle for a few minutes then tried to power it up.
It powered up and said i had a low battery (duh) so i let it charge for 2-3 hours. It would not turn back on, even when i pressed the reset button.
Baffled i said...well...maybe it needs more charge and put it back on for an hour and VIOLA! it came up and said it had a full battery.
I played around with it for a few hours and the battery got low so i placed it in its cradle for the night and when i woke up it wouldn't come on again and was hot. BUT it did come on when i pressed the reset button and said it had no bettery and powered off. No battery after 9 hours of charging?
Anyway, i stuck it back on for an hour and checked it again...not working...not even when i press reset button..nothing. All it will do is the light turn green when i place it in cradle..no sounds, no screen....nothing.
I think the 9v power supply was the wrong cord, but he swears it is what comes with it.
I need help! Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Palm Support Community poopiedoo.
I'm a bit confused by the "9v power supply".  Every Palm device I've had charges at 5 VDC.
It sounds like the battery has failed.  The indication that it's getting hot, but yet not working is a bad sign.
There are many websites that offer batteries and will do a repair for you at fair prices.  Two sites we've recommended:
    www.usedpdaparts.com and www.directfix.com

  • Tungsten T5 - Alarm issues that lead to power down.

Hello. Not sure if this is the right place to post this. If not, my appologies.
I have a Tungsten T5, which was behaving well until 2 weeks ago. I started noticing that whenever i have an alarm set up in the Calendar APP, not only it does not ring, but the battery drains completely, requiring a full recharge. I use the in built calendar option. I have no other programs that use alarms except that. I have a few third party apps, but everything was working fine before. One thing that i did install was Pocket Tunes (trial for now). Did anyone have the same issue before? could PTunes be the culprit?
    Thank you,

  • Vista & Outlook 2007 with Tungsten E2 - Hotsync only syncs to Palm Desk top not Outlook

I have a Tungsten E2 for a few years and sync it with no problem on my home computer with Windows and the Palm Desk top.
I just started a new job where we have Visa & Outlook 2007 and would like to keep both systems in sync with my Palm.  I downloaded and installed the new version of  Palm Desktop 6.2 and the Outlook 2007 Update at work.  The downloads went fine.  I selected Outlook as my tool of choice.  When I did the sync - everything was updated on the Palm Desk top not in Outlook.  I tried to remove & reinstall the software but it refuses to recognize Outlook as being my desktop software.  I get no errors.  Any suggestions?
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

The 6.2 version has the Outlook 2007 conduits included, you do not need to install the patch for Outlook 2007.
If the data is sync'ing with Palm Desktop but not Outlook you will need to change the conduits to sync with Outlook.
Go to start-programs-palm and look for PIM conduit switcher and change to Outlook.

  • M130 HotSync issue with Vista

In the process of installing Palm Desktop software version 6.2 for Vista on my laptop, when the wizard wanted to do the initial hotsync procedure I get the message on the Palm m130 that there is no connectivity between the Palm and my laptop via the USB connection, not even a bong when plugging the cradle/USB connector into the laptop. I have tried all the suggestions on the palm support website page but still do not have a connection. All other USB devices that I plug into my ports work, but when connecting the palm cradle I don't even get the audio sound that lets you know a USB device has been connected to your PC. The wizard tells me that I should not skip this first HotSync during the installation, so can anyone help and advise. Thank you, Rick

I have a Centro and I hotsynced all my info when I first got it.(Luckily I also printed out the contact list). But that one time was the only time I could ever get it to hotsync. I had problems with it not hotsyncing before but I had to get the device replaced so when I got the new one and updated the desktop I tried to hotsync again.
