Hard reset tried several times. No change in the problem - before or after re-synching with desktop.
It appears that the Palm's program is no longer recognizing that keystrokes are being entered where there is a time (each key entry triggers a new and separate 'no-time' line at top of screen.
I am abler to enter data on computer and then transfer it to the Tungsten via 'synch'. Such data cannot be edited from the Palm (same result as above).
Also - if I enter a time to a 'no-time' entry, it too cannot then be edited or added to.
    Help still needed,  Thanks

  • Ditching my Palm (hate iSync/Entourage)

I've read many posts and (now) understand that when I made the leap to MBP/Leopard/MS ofc 08 I unknowingly ended the days of my Tungsten T3 synching w/ Entourage. No conduit is forthcoming. I have to live with it. So now I'm trying to figure out where to go from here....
    • I want to keep (if i can) Entourage as my mail/cal/notes/tasks/address
    • I want to keep (if i can) Leopard on my new MBP
    • I need to purchase a device that will sync from E in a relatively useful way
Are there any options? Am I going to have to either go back to Tiger/E2004 or stay on Leopard and give up E altogether?

On the Office 2003 CD is a conduit for syncing with Hotsync Manager. You can transfer your contacts and calendar entries into your Palm that way. I think you could conceivably then connect iSync to the Hotsync Manager if you wanted to get your Calendar onto .mac (but I haven't looked into this).

On your device, tap the line where you wish the numbers to be entered, then either write them via Graffitti, or use the soft keyboard to enter the numbers!
Once you tap the line, a cursor should appear...  Have you tried starting the pairing from your E2 instead of the computer?
EDIT:  Apparently Dread has figured out how to enter the numbers (as revealed in a duplicate thread in the BT/Wifi board...)

  • Hot synch not working tungsten e2

Has anyone had hot synch problems with error messages under contacts showing OL Error?  I have a tungsten E2 using Windows XP Pro.  All I did was change computers and the synch works fine on the work computer but not working on my new home computer.  I tried uninstalling the palm software and now keep getting a lot of error messages.  The synch mechanism works but no contacts get synched from from device to the computer.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do have the Palm working thru a Bluetooth connection.  Well, at least it completes a sync.  Well, at least the process completes, according to the palm---but nothing really syncs!   Buwahahahahaha!  I came across a posting on another site in which the poster could not get to the "setting portions" of the bluetooth device (basically it was a usb bluetooth dongle).  He opened up the "services" portion of windows and made sure everything that said "bluetooth" was set to automatic.  Thats what I did to get my dongle to work with the Palm (man oh man does that sound nasty!).

    Can anyone shed some light?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
How have you historically synchronized memos? I ask, because the synchronization of memos has never been supported by iSync and the iSync Palm Conduit, so it should be no surprise that this function does not operate with your Tungsten organizer.
You indicate that changes made to iCal calendars are reflected on your handheld organizer, but that those made on the organizer are not reflected in iCal. Are you aware that the addition, deletion or modification of calendar data is pulled from your device and pushed to iCal to a single calendar? By default, that it the Unfiled calendar in iCal.
If that's not the issue, have you reset iSync using the Reset Sync History… option in the iSync Preferences… pane? To do so, launch iSync, open the Preferences… pane, press the Reset Sync History… button and follow the instruction which appear. This procedure should restore bidirectional synchronization behavior.

  • Tungsten T3/Windows 7 Synching in 2014

I've seen a number of posts regarding Synching a Palm Tungsten T3 under Windows 7 Professional, but they are incomplete or outdated, or do not fit my situation. I have Palm OS on my Windows 7 Computer, but had to repair my T3, which now has no data on it. My Windows 7 Palm application is loaded with hundreds of contacts which I don't want to lose, but want to load onto my Tungsten T3. Any and all suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.  And, by the way, is this the correct board to post this question?

If you were successfully Hotsyncing the T3 with this same computer, and no changes other than a repaired handheld, it should offer you to sync with your existing Hotsync ID the first time you connect.
But also wise to be cautious.  Set the Hotsync conduits to Desktop Overwrites Handheld before you sync.  Also make a copy of your Palm folders structure and contents and place the copy in a ditterent location.  Then if something goes wonky when you sync, you will have a copy.
Good luck, let us know how it goes.

  • Synching a PalmOne Tungsten E2 to a BlackBerry Curve 8310

I'm trying to get the calendar, contacts, tasks, etc from my old Palm to my new Blackberry.  Synching starts and then freezes during the calendar sync at 1818/1983 when I'm using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.  I've tried shutting down and reopening the programs, rebooting the computer, removing the phone battery and upgrading to BlackBerry Desktop Manager version 4.7.  It always freezes while exporting records from the Palm Desktop during the calendar export on record 1818 of 1983.  I'm at a loss.  Any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
I had the same problem you are experiencing when moving from my Treo 650 to my BB.  You can sync directly from your Palm to your BB using the switch device wizard, but I ran into problems.  Here is what I did to move my organizer data:
First thing you want to do is to make sure you get a good, complete sync of your Palm data with the Palm desktop. All your data will then be up to date on your Tungsten.  Then change the conduits in your Palm desktop so that your Tugnsten syncs with Outlook instead of the Palm desktop. Make sure you map the fields as you want the organizer data to move over to Outlook as the Palm vs Outlook fields differ in many respects. Once successful, you should have your data in Outlook; check to make sure everything is as you want it in Outlook.
Since you have had error msgs along the way, you would probably be best to get a clean installation of DTM (BB desktop manager) before you go any farther: Clean uninstall of Desktop Manager
Reinstall DTM, reboot your pc and you should then be ready to sync between the BB and Outlook. Open DTM  and then connect your BB via usb. Set up your synchronization settings for your organizer data. Synchronization settings
At this point, I sync'd one app at a time (calendar-contacts-memos-tasks) so I would only have one app to monitor in case of  any error messages.   Once you have successfully sync'd all your organizer data, make a backup.  Excellent practice to get into each time you sync.
Let us know how it goes.

  • Palm Tungsten E2 not synching

My Palm Tunsget E2 has just stopped synching. It stalls on the Calendar element. I have followed the 5 steps on the website to solve the problem, including downloading 6.2, but it still won't synch the Calendar. Can anyone help?
The Touchscreen centering process on the hand held also doesn't work. It gets into a permanent loop. This was the reason I got rid of my last E2. Any ideas welcome!

A hard reset wipes everything off your palm. A hard reset is performed by holding down the power button while sticking something thin (your stylus, paper clip) into the back reset hole of your device. Keep your hand on the power button while you release the paper clip from the reset hole. The screen will now say "Palm Powered." Take your hand off the power button. You will now see a screen in 5 languages prompting you to erase all data from the palm. The screen will say "erase all data? Yes - up, no - down" and you need to click on the up arrow (silver button on the 5 way navigator on the bottom of the palm). This will erase all the info from your device.

Open the Palm Desktop program. Click on Start > Programs/All Programs > Palm One > Palm Desktop.
Locate the Documents/Documents To Go icon on the left side and click on it. You will be prompted to go through some initial setup steps to set up the Docs To Go. After you go through those steps, close the Palm Desktop program and try to sync again.
Now it should work without any errors.

  • Hot Synch to Tungsten E2 Using Windows 7

I bought an IR adapter as I read in one of the posts. Windows 7 found a driver and installed it successfully. When I try to Hot Synch, it says it cannot synch because the port is in use by another piece of hardware.  The Hot Synch Manager knows I want to use the IR function. Now what do I do?
I have no idea where to put my question as the topics are not Palm oriented.

If the Win7 computer is a 64bit computer, you'll have to install other drivers to get it to work.
See the sticky post at the top of this section titled' "64Bit Windows USB drivers for Palm Desktop are here".

Are you syncing with 32bit or 64bit windows 7? What outlook are you trying to sync with? (2007 or 2010) What palm desktop are you using? ( version 4 or 6 palm desktop) The first post in this section of the forum goes over hotsync problems. If you have not read through it please do so.
If you have a 32bit Version you can sync with USB cable, bluetooth and wifi. Version 4 of the desktop has a windows 2007 conduit update that may help. It is not for version 6 of the palm desktop that already has the conduits built in. If your system is a 64bit system you can USB hotsync with the Aceeca 64bit driver that is also available in this section of the forum although nobody has been able to get outlook working yet with this setup to my knowledge. I believe some people may have been able to get it working with the bluetooth or wifi hotsync in windows 7 with both 32bit and 64bit systems. Please do a little more reading and post with more info so it is easier to give help.

  • Hot synch iMac at home, PC at office

Just got an iMac and though I love it, there's a learning curve!  I just installed OS 6.2 on both the Mac (Mac version) and PC version.  I was told when buying the Mac that there's software to allow me to convert at one or both ends and/or into/out of the PDA (Tungsten E2).  Advice?  Nate
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

I'll answer your questions in RED below. The version of Palm desktop on your MAC should be 4.2.1. Is this what you have?
When synching, Calendar is incomplete.  Some data imports; a great deal of other data is missing.  It appears that items marked with category "Personal at Work" are missing.  That category is present in the Categories list in Edit.  Not sure why the data is missing.
Is there a difference between Datebook and Calendar?  I presently have both conduits set for device to overwrite the Mac -- based on fact that the device has synched successfully from office PC and I wanted not to miss something.  On computer, the "calendar" is called Datebook. The "calendar" is the name newer devices use instead of datebook. Datebook was the name for calendar on older devices. When you sync, the unused conduit should disappear.
Synch to iMac: no addresses imported at all. Make sure the conduit for contacts and addresses are set to syncronize the files and see if that will work.
Hotsynch log showed "Date book did nothing"  "Contacts did nothing" (although that was checked for device to overwrite -- or are 'Contacts' the addresses?) and showed "Address Book did nothing" If both conduits did nothing, then no data sync'ed. I am not sure what the cause of this is at this point.
Log showed "Calendar synchronization failed Calendar failed (error = there is not enough memory.")  Is this on the handheld or the MAC?
Memos et al. -- how do I manage preferences? E.g. deleting "date" from the menu bar? Not sure what you mean. Are you referring to the status bar on the bottom of the screen and the clock icon? You cannot remove the clock from the status bar, that I am aware of. Look in the user guide for the information regarding managing preferences.
On iMac version, where do I hide/show Private categories?  How do I show/hide "Daily" beside the monthly view of Calendar? This is not an option in Palm desktop for MAC.
Palm Help consistently resulted in this error message: "Internet connection required
The help topic you’re opening requires an Internet connection. Choose Apple > System Preferences, and then click Network to check your network settings and, if necessary, connect to the Internet."
I followed directions.  I am on internet through Safari and connection is wireless (e.g. I'm sending this.) What am I missing? I am not sure about this error message and why it is happening.
