Turkish WinRAR extracting Photoshop?

I'll try to explain it as clear and concise as I can...
At work, I am having trouble with Adobe Photoshop CS3... (I'll refer to the PC in question as "My PC")
My C-drive generally has about 1 or 1,5gigabytes of free memory
Photoshop CS3 is installed on my E-drive
Recently, I've encountered a problem when I tried to start-up Photoshop, the same way I always do; I doubleclick the icon on my desktop, when all of a sudden some program popped up with a strange language, that had a bar with green and grey in it. After taking a screenshot and clicking the button that appeared to be the Cancel button I restarted my PC and tried again, this time it just started up.
I then tried to find the location where this program was extracting to, but I couldn't find the folder it referred to.
I just copied the text into Google Translate and found it that it was turkish, and at many places to find an answer as to what this was, what it was doing and why it was doing it, but so far, I've not gotten a single answer, and I am quite concerned, since it's filling up my C-drive quickly, and I only have 182mb left by now.
This problem has even cost me an entire day worth of work already, and I am seriously getting frustrated right now, so I hope anyone in here might know what I'm talking about, I've added in a screenshot of the program that started up instead of the Adobe Photoshop CS3 which was supposed to start up.
I'd like to note 2 things;
1. The location on the drive to where it's extracting can't be found.
2. The photoshop icon in the top-left of the program.
so, if anybody has any idea what is going on and how to solve it, please help, because I'm at a loss right now, and it's endangering my work
yours truly

how can I search the C-drive in that manner? I mean, I have barely learned how to search by specific names?
Where are the Photoshop Temp files located? and what is the best way to delete them?
and how can I remove the temp-files from previous photoshop shutdowns?
Open the file explorer use the organize pull-down and click on Folder and Search options. In the Folder Option window use the View tab and un-check any checked hide boxes and under hidden turn on show hidden files, folders and drive then click OK. Now back in File explorer point to c: Then in the upper right corner click on the search magnifying glass add a filter for a date range and the press the enter key.  Sort the result by size and delete any large temp files found.
Do an other search type something like *RarSFX5* in the search field amd press enter.

  • Can't extract Photoshop CS5

I can't extract the Photoshop CS5. Everytime I try I get :"A problem occured while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder" .
I've spent long hours on the phone with multiple agents trying to resolve this issue. I have WinZIP, my computer is Windows 7 Pro, etc... Still cannot get the issue resolved. Can someone please help?
As well, while on the phone with one of the Adobe Agents, I was informed to type in: "cmd.exe" in the start menu, then once the window opened I was then informed to type: "net user administrator /active:yes". This created a whole new Administrator account for me, when I already had an Administrator account saved under my name. So now I'm stuck with two and I cannot get rid of the Administrator account that the Adobe Agent made me create. I've tried many things in reference from google. Such as: Right Clicking Computer on the start up menu then clicking manage Local Users and Groups. I then clicked Groups and tried to delete the Administrator account, however it would not allow me. Then I tried to type in "cmd.exe" in the Start Menu, once the window opened I proceeded to type: "net user administrator /active:no", and yet again it did not work. Can someone please help me remove this Administrator account as well please?

No, I turned off them all off and I still cannot extract the downloaded file.
Great. Those active, real-time scanning programs can cause all sorts of issues.
I've tried to download them to many different drives and folders including Desktop
For others, or for next time, the Desktop folder has some special properties, and those can be problematic for many programs. I suggest keeping that one clean, and not using it for such operations.
This afternoon Adobe installed Windows Installer Package and managed to Extract CS5.1; however, when I enter the serial number I get Error Message: "The serial number you entered is valid, but our qualifying product cannot be found on this Computer".
The first part is great news, and solves the originally listed problem.
For the S/N, however, there are some additional questions:
Was this an Upgrade, that you downloaded?
Do you have a qualifying copy of PS, to upgrade from?
I have never installed, or upgraded from a download, so do not know how that might function, but with the program on physical media, there are two S/N's. One is for the installer, and that S/N will tell the installer if one is doing an upgrade, or an initial install. With an upgrade, one will usually need the S/N from that qualifying program. For any S/N issue, that you cannot find a quick answer for, I strongly suggest calling Adobe Customer Support (not Adobe Technical Support), with all of the invoices, S/N's, etc., handy. They can handle most S/N issues quickly, so long as the user has the necessary numbers and paperwork.
    Good luck,

  • Problem Extracting Photoshop elements/gradient in Flash Catalyst to create skin

    Hi,
Is there is any way to get all the psd elements( i.e background gradient), in Flash catalyst. The photoshop files can be opened with different layers but all the
gradient/color portion are getting converted into images.
Excluding catalyst, Do we have any mechanism to create skin file(mxml)from psd files, except the Flex skin extensions.
Please let me know how can we open photoshop file into Catalyst so that its color/gradients won't get convert into image.
    Regards,
    Renu

I took a look at the tutorial PSD file and couldn't find anything wrong with it.
When you save your project file, the only file that it should save is the ecotours_ui.fxp file. The ecotours_site.fxp file was one that was bundled in the tutorial files .zip package.
It shouldn't be a problem that you have the CS3 versions of Photoshop and Flash. As you have said, you are not running them. The lack of RAM could possibly be an issue. Another possibility might be some permissions getting in your way. Have you checked to see if the files or folders that got unzipped will allow you to write to them?

  • Photoshop CC installation hung at "Waiting..." in Creative Cloud window.

    2013-06-17
Downloaded and installed new version of Adobe Application Manager which magically turned into the new Creative Cloud window. Found the Photoshop CC entry and clicked "Install" after which the download took lots of minutes and then switched to an "Extracting Photoshop CC" message which took more minutes. Okay, now it's saying "Installing Photoshop CC." After a few minutes, seems stuck at 70%. After a few more minutes, it's still stuck at 70%.
Clicked the "x" button to stop the installation and waited for the "Install" button reappear. I pressed "Install" again and got the messages "Installing Photoshop CC" followed by "Extracting Photoshop CC" which is still on the screen. Down where the "Install" button was appeared the message "Extracting..." but that soon changed to "Waiting...". After 10 minutes of "Waiting...", I clicked the "x" next to the "waiting" message to cancel the "Photoshop CC" installation. The "Install" button returned almost immediately.
I went to the https://creative.adobe.com site then to the Download Center. I clicked on the "Photoshop" icon and then on the "Download" button on the "Photoshop CC" page. That action fired up the Creative Cloud app on my machine and the download started again. The first message is "Installing Photoshop CC" and the percentage value is increasing (good)! There's a little progress bar in the Creative Cloud window. The display changed from "Installing Photoshop CC (49%)" to "Extracting Photoshop CC..." and where the progress bar was in now the word "Extracting...". After a couple of minutes (maybe 3 or 4), the word "Extracting..." turned into "Waiting...". I think I hate this. The legend at the top of the Creative Cloud window still reads "Extracting Photoshop CC...". After 10-11 minutes, the message "Waiting..." is still there. Someone suggested "close your browser" to get the ball rolling again, so I closed Chrome at 11:47 PM. I still have the "Waiting..." message. I'm going to click "x" and try again. Did so at 11:48 PM. After taking a break (time now 11:59 PM), message is "Extracting..." but at 12:00 midnight the message changed to "Waiting...". What the heck is it waiting for? Behavior is identical to when browser was running. Now it's 12:12 AM and still "Waiting...". I suppose it'll be like this until morning. Maybe I should kill all other processes. Did so but no help. Now it's 12:55 AM and still "Waiting...".
I have PS CS6 and LR5 installed (but neither running) on my Windows 7 64-bit 16GB machine. I'm running Webroot Secure Anywhere.
What next steps should I take to get past this Ps CC installation blockage?
    Update 1:36 AM
It's now 1:36 AM and I still have the "Waiting..." message.
There are four copies of "Adobe CEF Helper.exe *32" running and one copy of "CEPServiceManager.exe *32" (a.k.a., "Adobe CEP Service Manager"). Also, one copy each of "Creative Cloud Helper.exe *32" and "Creative Cloud.exe *32" are running.

    2013-06-18 6:30 AM
Thank you, Arpit. With your help I seem to be up and running with Photoshop CC.
    I did these things:
Manually killed all Adobe processes including a "setup.exe" I had not noticed before.
Used Add/Remove programs to remove the Creative Cloud app and a partially installed version of Adobe Photoshop CC.
    Restarted computer
Renamed the two OOBE directories you specified.
I ran AdobeCreativeCloudCleaner.exe as admin but elected to exit when I saw that I'd have to remove Ps CS6 as well as CC.
    Restarted computer, again.
Downloaded and ran CreativeCloudSet-Up.exe then signed in and navigated to the "Apps" panel.
Clicked "Install" next to the Photoshop CC icon at 5:58 AM; the installation completed at 6:12 AM with an "up to date" message near the Photoshop CC icon.
I quickly tested both Ps CS6 and Ps CC to see that both would run -- they both did run.
In LR5 I noticed that the "Edit In > Adobe Photoshop CS6" has been replaced by "Edit In > Adobe Photoshop CC"
When I attempted to open an image in Ps CC via LR5, I was told to "Update Adobe Camera Raw" so I opened Ps CC manually, checked for updates -- there were three total including ACR, Ps CC itself, and one other which I think was "something something Extensions"
Restarted computer, again (following advice from updater mentioned above) after which Ps CC seems to work well with LR5.
Deleted the two renamed OOBE directories (step 4 above) after verifying new OOBE directories had been created.
My only problem now is figuring out how to get Ps CC to see my third-party filters (e.g., NIK, Topaz, Redfield). I'll probably just have to reinstall them all.
I supposed I can uninstall Ps CS6 without affecting Ps CC, right?
    Thanks again for your help,

  • Is registration of Photoshop unique to a specific computer?

I recently had a failure of my Mac Pro on which I was using Photoshop CS5. I am having the data extracted from the hard drives, including the applications.
Will loading the extracted Photoshop application file into a new Mac Pro's application folder work?

Sorry to hear of your failure.
Regarding your question about restoring the files:  No.  You're going to need to install it and you're going to need to activate it.  If you've used up your allowed two activations, you'll need to call Adobe Customer Support, explain to them that you've recovered from a computer failure, and they'll work their database magic to make it possible for you to activate your software on your new system.
Might not be a bad time to think about upgrading to Photoshop CC, since you're starting afresh.  There are some substantial l improvements since Photoshop CS5, especially in the area of raw file conversion.  And don't miss the $9.99/month deal.

  • Photoshop CC Acting Up - Won't let me crop - auto tone, etc...

For some reason my photoshop has started acting up. When I open any tiff files now it won't let me crop it until I unlock the layer. When I unlock the layer it will let me crop it once, but no further. After selecting all I used to be able to nudge in a direction and click crop to crop it... Also it won't let me do the Auto Tone or other commands if the layer is locked...
It used to be that all the photo's used to be imported without being locked and I used to be able to crop and auto tone and everything as I pleased. I don't know what's happened....

I don't know what to provide? It was working fine before... It didn't use to lock the layer when opening any file, and now it does, it used to let me crop normally, now it won't let me crop at all. Some of the settings got messed up while I was working on a project earlier yesterday. It was a project where I was taking out people from one scene and putting them in another. I played around with layers and other settings. Maybe I hit a wrong command or something but now it defaulted to locking all layers all the time and not letting me do levels or any other things until I unlock every single photo when opening and after that it STILL won't let me crop. When I select and crop it stays the same, doesn't crop the rest of the photo out.
Also when I open it up, it opens it in Layers now, it used to open it in the History tab. All of this is extremely annoying and it happens both in PS 2014 and CC 64 Bit
Is there a way to export a log to all changes I have made, or revert to the way it was before yesterday?
Don't know if it's relevant but I am using a Sony Vaio Z with 97% Adobe RGB on the LED screen, it has 8gb of ram, full quad core i7 t 2.10GHZ, Win 7 64 bit...I don't know how to extract photoshop setting or profiles to show you....

Just tried my first extract. As soon as I hit the OK button to extract, Photoshop crashed.
It looks as if the extract took place as there are now 10 png files in the directory I specified.

None of these have crashed. Also created a new similar file and did 6 extracts with it. Again no issues.

  • BC 32 or 64 bit for XP prior to Win 7??

I downloaded the 64 bit Boot camp update but it will not install, even using the winRar extraction technique suggested in another thread. Since XP Professional is 32 bit, I assume only the 32 bit update will work, so I used that....
BUT does that mean that when I install Win7 64 bit that it will not work????
Or can I install / reinstall the 64 bit over top of the 32 bit once I have upgraded to Win 7...
For lack of instructions for these 2 releases and proper procedure, Apple support gets a D-

    Hey all, deeseeArch here,
What I did worked for me on the newest MacBook Pro Unibody. Here it is:
As I said in my post, I did not have windows or boot camp installed on my computer prior to this. Not because I erased it, I just never had done it before.
    1. In Mac OSX I started up Boot Camp Assistant. I created a 60 GB Partition. That went smoothly.
    2. When prompted, I inserted Windows 7 Ultimate DVD and hit Start Installation. Windows installed fine.
    3. In Windows 7, I inserted the gray Mac OSX Install DVD, and setup.exe started automatically. This installed BC 2.1.
    4. In Windows 7, I now inserted my Snow Leopard DVD, and setup.exe started automatically. This installed BC 3.0.
    5. I downloaded the new BC 3.1 file from Apple site (the x64 version).
    6. I double clicked that file and ran it. This installed BC 3.1.
So far everything is working fine. I can see all mac drives, external drives; volume, eject, and brightness keys work. Mighty Mouse works, sound works, display is fine. It's all good.
As I said in my post, I am going to install this on my wife's MBP, older model to see how that goes. Haven't done it yet.
    Hope this helps.

  • Program will run on one 8.1 computer, but not a better 8.1 tablet.

I have 2 computers I'm trying to run a program on, but it only works on the lesser of the two! The program just shows a 3d image that the user can rotate to view and clicking other options it will play different video files. The program was written by an
outside company and I do not have funds to have them help me.
    Computer 1: Dell all-in-one computer. Touchscreen, Core i5, Windows 8.1, 8gb RAM.
    Computer 2: Dell 18" XPS tablet, Core i7, Windows 8.1, 8gb RAM.
The program is a Winrar, when extracted it runs perfectly fine on computer 1, it can be closed and reopened normally. Computer 2 will allow the program to be extracted, it will run ONCE. After you close the program and try to re-run the program it will only
show a white screen. The touch screen works to control settings in the program (such as volume and exit button) but it only displays a white screen. If the program is deleted and re-extracted (created a new version), it will work the 1st time it's ran. I've
updated to the newest windows updates, silverlight, drivers, EVERYTHING I can possible think of. Still will not let the program be ran more than once.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this to happen?

From the description you provided regarding the white screen of the second computer, it sounds as though the application is experiencing a component issue. This would allow the application to launch, but certain content does not render as expected. Here
are some things I would suggest to try:
Ensure that the directory in which the files are stored is identical on both computers and that directory has the same permissions on the two systems. If WinRAR extracts the application files to another directory, even a temporary one, this is the directory
on which the permissions should be verified.
EXE files that open with WinRAR are typically self-extracting archives, meaning the animated application you are describing is actually held within an archive. This file could be extracted with WinRAR and run from a separate directory.
You could try compatibility mode and/or run as administrator. In either case, if the application is held in a self-extracting WinRAR archive, you will need to extract the files and enable compatibility mode on the application EXE, not the self-extracting
    EXE.
From the description you provided of what the application is and does, it sounds as though it might require components from underlying frameworks or technologies. I would ensure that the same version of Java, Flash, .NET, etc. is present on the second computer
that appears to work on the first.

  • Apple Mobile Device Support Error in iTunes 8.2.0.23 FIX

Okay, after I installed the 8.2.0.23 version of iTunes and tried to plug in my iPhone, I got a message stating essentially that the version of Apple Mobile Device Support is wrong, and to uninstall AMDS and iTunes and reinstall them. Of course, after doing that, it still gave the error.
After hours of trying things and coming up with nothing with Apple Tech Support, this finally fixed the problem. I don't know if it'll help anyone, but if it does, great!
    You will need:
    1. The previous version of iTunes - 8.1.1
    http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php
    2. The current version of iTunes - 8.2
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
    3. WinRAR
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
This is what I did that worked:
    1. Delete the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support"
    2. Using WinRAR, extract "applemobiledevicesupport.msi" from the 8.1.1 iTunes installer file to your desktop.
    3. Run applemobiledevicesupport.msi to install the previous version of Apple Mobile Device Support. This won't jive with iTunes 8.2. If you try to run it, you'll just get the old error message.
    4. Using WinRAR, extract "applemobiledevicesupport.msi" from the 8.2 iTunes installer file to your desktop overwriting the old version.
    5. Run applemobiledevicesupport.msi to intstall the new version of AMDS over the previous version.
    6. Start up iTunes.
    7. Plug in iPhone
It should now recognize the device.
Let me know if it works for ya!
    Erik

    Hi Erik,
Your basic suggestion actually worked for me. But this is what I did for others who are having issues removing/installing etc.
    1. Download the latest iTunes 8.2. You should end up with a file iTunesSetup.
    2. If you dont already have WinRAR, download free copy from http://www.rarlab.com/ and install.
    3. Right click on iTunesSetup and choose "Extract" to somewhere you know. eg C:\itunetemp
    4. Open up folder where you extracted iTunesSetup and double-click applemobiledevicesupport.msi
    5. It should ask you if you want to repair or remove... choose remove.
    6. REBOOT your PC.
    7. Go back to where you extracted iTunesSetup and double-click applemobiledevicesupport.msi and go through the install.
    8. Plug in your iPhone.
If all is well iTunes should automatically start and start syncing your iPhone.
    Goodluck all!
    Cheers.

  • Fixing the itunes 8 & Vista BSOD

Not sure if this has been posted, but happy to share my fix. I too was suffering from the dreaded BSOD after clean installing iTunes 8. The BSOD was immediate upon connection of my iphone and associated with the usbaapl.dll.
    Here's what to do:
    1) Get yourself a copy of iTunes 7.7 (plenty of sites of the net are hosting old versions)
    2) From the control panel uninstall "Apple Mobile Device Support"
    3) Using WINACE or WINRAR extract the files from the iTunes 7.7 installation package.
    4) From the extracted files install the AppleMobileDeviceSupport package (nothing else)
    5) Voila...no more BSOD

Apple today released a tech note, suggesting to uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support, restart the computer, and re-download and re-install the iTunes 8 installer. It's unclear what about Apple Mobile Device Support was causing the problem.
According to Macworld and ZDNet, Apple simply replaced the files associated with Apple Mobile Device Support (usbaapl.sys or usbaapl64.sys) with the versions shipped with iTunes 7.7.
Computerworld highlighted several irate comments from an Apple Discussions thread on the subject, including precious gems such as "I love how Apple owns up to problems... IT'S NOT US! IT MUST BE YOU! OR MICROSOFT! OR YOUR MOUSE! OR YOUR CHAIR!"
