Port Forwarding to view a web-page that isn't on a...

I have port forwarding set up to access certain services at home, which works fine using my home hub, with the exception of one thing. I'm trying to use a url like the one below, in order that I can gain access to a web page which is on a web-server on a machine in my network that operates on a different port to normal (normal being port 80 or 443 here since this is https):
https://hostname.dyndns.org:1234/service-name
within my home network, I use the following address in a browser and it works fine:
123.123.1.123:1234/service-name
Now I have the port forward application set up on the home hub 3 with the ports set to forward 1234 to 1234 and I have assigned this to the correct machine (i've tried assigning by IP addess and also tried changing the forwarding rule to '1232 to 1234' and amending my url appropriately.
Unfortunately nothing I have tried is working.
uPnP is turned off as most of the machines I want to access are on static IP's. (I couldn't assign forwarding rules to the static IP machines with it on).
Could anyone shed any light on this?

(I do have a work around by using RDP to another machine and then opening the url using the target machines ip address in the remotely controlled machines browser, but it's far, far from ideal).

I am not sure you have that quite right on DynDNS, as you have to use two host names, and a webhop to link the two.
Here is a live example of what I used to have.
Mt current webserver works on port 80, which is fine.
My host address is http://forumhelp.dyndns.info which points to the machine on my LAN, which has port 80 forwarded to it.
Prior to the current arrangement, I had a webserver running from a NAS device on port 8100.
To ensure that incoming web requests appeared on the standard port, I had to create an additional similar host name, and then create a webhop within DynDNS to do the redirect.
The web address on the Internet stiil be the same, but would webhop to http://dummyhost.dyndns.org:8100/
Have you checked using one of the many port checking websites to see if port 1234 is open?

I received a PDF file containing 10 pages of a newsletter that needs to be turned into a book using InDesign. Is there a method that I may use to take the pages from this PDF file and make a book with 10 pages in InDesign?

for a 'simple' book:
create a new indesign document with 10 pages--uncheck facing pages in the setup dialog--set the page size, margins, bleeds--then--go to file>place>locate the PDF--check the checkbox that says 'show import options' choose 'media' from dropdown menu -- choose (pages) ALL-- double click the file name (the PDF)--this will load all 10 pages to your cursor--go to page 1--click with cursor (this will place page 1) go to page 2 and click, page 3 click, etc etc--you can go back and re-position the pages later...
note: if the plan is to print and staple the book, you will need 12 pages--and also note--the placed art will not be editable.

No. But you can create a text file for TextEdit, Word, Pages or other text application that you use, put a title at the top and print it on the already printed contact sheet. Just make the top margin in iPhoto's contact layout large enough so the title can be printed there by the other app.

Look for a page that has a similar layout:
The one photo per page layout is the easiest to miss. Just click on a background color to remove the problem.

Create Page that programmatically displays an iview

I'm trying to design a page that will contain to iViews. One would have an announcement text at the top of the page and the other would be a related iView. I would like the announcement header to only display if there's content to be loaded. I've thought of two methods of this.
One would be to create a JSPDyn page that loads both iviews and partner that with some Javascript that hides the top if there's no relevant content. However, I can't seem to find any examples of JSPDyn pages loading other iViews. Where would I look for examples on this?
The other method would be using a property of the iView API called
pageSupport.ivuRemove that appears to do what I want, but again, I haven't found any example code on how to use this.
If anyone has any ideas, example code, or even a better method for optionally displaying an iView, please let me know. I'll be sure to award points for answers that lead me on the right track.

My requirement is somewhat similar. I have a JSPDynpage application which gets data from the KM.
If no data is available the iView should be hidden. The iView should be visible again only when there is relevant data available in the KM for the iView.
I tried using the above code that you provided. However i am not able to figure out why the doOnNodeReady() is not getting called.

If i set the TextValue iView property value to X then the iView should be hidden else shown.
If i place a response .write() statement in the doOnNodeReady(), the response doesn't print.

How do I merge two pages (within the same PDF file) into one page? For example, I have a scanned 3x5 card; the front of the card is on page one and the back of the card is on page two. How do I merge them so the front and back of the card is on the same page? Thanks!

It works well because InDesign is highly reliable for placing PDF files (you can even choose which layer):
And it uses the common PDF Export presets for the Creative Suite. I've used it very reliably to place ads saved as PDF, and including them in a program guide, then exporting the entire project as one PDF file.

My Ipad has hung up on a book that I downloaded and was reading. I cannot turn the page or exit the book. I can get to my ipad desktop but still cannot close the book.

Quit iBooks and restart the iPad and then try the book again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

How did you obtain these apps? All apps are DRM protected & tied forever to the account used to originally obtain them. They cannot be transferred to another Apple ID(account), nor can they be updated using any Apple ID other than the one that was used to originally obtain them.

Is there a way to tie to iPads together so that when you turn a page with a tap on one, both iPads turn a page. I am using the ipad to replace piano sheet music. The challenge is that ordinary sheet music is on both a left and right page.

We are trying to use an ipad to replace ordinary paper sheet music on a piano. When truning ordinary paper pages, it is sometimes hard to grasp one page, turn it quickly and get it to stay turned. The idea with using an ipad is that a tap turns the page, it stays turned. However,,,,,ordinary sheet music is on both left and right pages. With one turn you get 2 new pages. The ipad, being smaller results in only one page and therefore twice as many page turn taps; more taps equals less hands on the piano. If we could tie 2 ipads together and get them both to turn the page simultaneously it would be nice. We are trying to get used to using the ipad. We are using ForScore app to get sheet music into the ipad; we could load one with odd pages and one with even pages. Maybe this is getting too complicated.

No way to control one device from the other. But, according to ForScore, you should be able to display two sheets side by side in landscape mode (2-up view)? Not sure if that helps as it must make the actual print smaller to do so.
